Block B(Hangul: 블락비) is a South Korean boy band formed by Cho PD under the label Brand New Stardom. On April 15, 2011, they debuted on KBS Music Bank with their promotional single 'Freeze!' ("그대로 멈춰라!"). The group consists of seven members Zico (Woo Jiho), Lee Tae Il, B-Bomb (Lee Min Hyuk), Ahn Ji Hyo, U-Kwon (Kim Yoo Kwon), Park Kyung, and P.O (Pyo Ji Hoon).Each of The participants have various skills, rapping, songwriting, dancing and singing respectively. In February 2011, Cho PD announced the formation of a seven-member hip-hop group with $1.4 million in funding as part of Creating Korea's Eminem Project. He added that they will be mentored by other famous hip-hop artists, including Verbal Jint, Skull, and Rhymer.

After the group performed with the song "Freeze!", they continued to perform with the track "Wanna B". June 22, 2011 The first episode of MTV Match Up! aired, featuring two newcomers to the Korean show business: Block B and B1A4. June 23, 2011 Block B released their first mini-album "New Kids on the Block", consisting of three new songs + three songs from their first single + 2 instrumental tracks. A little later, Block B released a video for the song “Close My Eyes”, along with the re-released album “Welcome To The Block”, which was released on 3 April 0, 2012.
In May, Zico, the leader of the group Block B, temporarily ceases his activities due to health problems. The group organizes concerts without a leader. Zico's parts are read by Yu-Kwon.

On August 29, 2013, Block B negotiated to transfer their rights from Stardom to another management company, Seven Seasons. A Seven Seasons representative said the group plans to release new album in October 2013.
Seven Seasons created a YouTube channel where they uploaded Block B's video. On August 31, 2013, Seven Seasons released the first teaser with Yoo Kwon running through the streets of Seoul asking "Do you wanna B?" at the end. On September 4, a teaser was released featuring Jae Hyo and P.O. wearing chic tuxedos. This teaser also ended with the question: "Do you wanna B?"
On September 17, 2013, Block B announced the pre-release of the single on Seven Seasons' YouTube channel. B.A.P is the first boy group formed by Korean agency TS Entertainment. Group members: Bang Yongguk (leader, rapper), Himchan (vocalist, face of the group), Daehyun ( main vocalist), Youngjae (main vocalist), Jongup (dancer, vocalist) and Jelo (mannae, dancer, rapper). Their name is an acronym for BEST ABSOLUTE PERFECT and it shows their determination to become the best and absolutely perfect band.
The idea of the group appeared in 2011, and its promotion immediately began with the help of Yongguk, who took on the role of leader of the group. He signed a contract with TS Entertainment and performed the song "Going Crazy" with Song Jieun, who is under the same company. He made his solo debut on August 11, 2011 with the song “I Remember,” which he performed with BEAST's Yang Yoseob. The second member of B.A.P, Himchan is an uljan and a multi-instrumentalist. He was introduced to the public as the host of the music show “The Show” on MTV Korea. And finally, on November 23, 2011, the third member, Jelo, was introduced - he released the track “Never Give Up” together with Bang Yongguk. Their subgroup was called Bang & Zelo.
In January 2012, the group starred in the reality show "Ta-Dah, It's B.A.P", which aired on SBS MTV. The show featured the group as aliens from another planet who work together to debut as B.A.P, take over Earth, and save their dying planet called Mato.
The group's debut single, Warrior, was released on January 26, 2012, and MTV Korea called it "powerful and attention-grabbing." Here's what Nancy Lee of Enews World wrote about them:

The first performance with the song Warrior took place at the Music Bank show. On January 28, in Seoul, V.A.R.’s debut concert took place. More than 3,000 people attended.
Officially their fan club is called BABY/BABYz. It was formed by TS Entertainment on February 10, 2012. From the archive, message from TS Ent.:

The fan club opening took place in the ninth month after B.A.P's debut (October 27, 2012), and more than 3,000 BABYz attended the event. MTV Korea called B.A.P a "versatile group." Star News Korea's Yoon Seungyeol commented on their live performances:
“They have already proven that their performances are different from what everyone is so used to. Their perfect dancing, powerful charm, Bang Yong Guk's impressive rap and Jelo's high-speed rap make a great combination. A strong voices Daehyun and Youngjae complete the perfect picture. Shortly before their debut, all members dyed their hair the same color and became platinum blonde. They personally took part in the development and creation of stage costumes, concepts, writing lyrics and music for the album. As group member Yoo Youngjae said, "We didn't want to be too different from each other as we wanted to show the unity of the group on stage."
When we asked about the significant differences between B.A.R and other idol groups, Yongguk told us:
“We look brave. If you pay attention to the choreography of most male idol groups, you will notice that they all have signature moves. So sometimes they look better when they all dance together, but unlike them, we strive to show our strong point, and not cute and soft - the so-called “pleasure for the eyes.” That's why I think we're so different. Lawsuit against agency
On November 27, 2014, it became known that six members of the group V.A.R filed a lawsuit to cancel their contracts with the agency. According to a statement from the law firm, members of the group B.A.R filed a lawsuit against TS Entertainment in the Seoul Western District Court.
V.A.R.'s exclusive contracts with their company began in March 2011, and they claim that their contracts only benefited their company and were extremely unfair to the band members.
The terms of their contract state that the contract will last for a minimum of seven years, starting from the release of their first album (not from the date of the contract), which is much longer compared to other companies' contracts. Also, according to their statement, the contracts do not comply with laws regarding protection civil rights artists of their agency, do not take into account the artists' consent to anything, rights to privacy, etc.
The lawsuit also includes allegations of revenue sharing that benefited the company solely, and that they had to deal with conditions that put them at a disadvantage if the contract was terminated or the agency suffered damages.
Despite the unfair content of the contract, since their debut in January 2012, V.A.R. have released 11 albums in various formats and held concerts all over the world, including Korea, Japan, China and even as far away as Mexico. Although the band members had to deal with deteriorating health, they tried their best for their fans.

The album received positive reviews and sold 30,000 copies on the first day of release. The album entered Billboard's World Albums chart and was in 10th place.
2013: One Shot and Japanese debut
In February 2013, B.A.P released the album "One Shot", the title songs of which were "Rain Sound" and "One shot". After the album's release, the members held a concert in Seoul, which sold out in 10 minutes. The group also began their first world tour, B.A.P Live on Earth. As part of the tour, the guys visited Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. B.A.P then embarked on a US tour, the B.A.P Live on Earth Pacific Tour. During the tour, the group released videos for the songs “Coffee Shop”, “Hurricane”, and then the video of the same name as the album “Badman”. In May 2013, B.A.P signed a contract with the Japanese label King Records. Debut music video The Japanese version of the track "Warrior" was released on September 13, and the single itself was released on October 9.
2014: Return with First Sensibility
In mid-January, TS Entertainment announced the group's comeback with their first studio album, First Sensibility. The album and music video for the title song "1004 (Angel)" were released on February 3.
Lawsuit against agency
At the peak of their popularity, B.A.P filed a lawsuit against their company. On November 27, 2014, it became known that six members of the group filed a lawsuit to cancel their contracts with the agency. According to a statement from the law firm, members of the group B.A.R filed a lawsuit against TS Entertainment in the Seoul Western District Court. V.A.R.'s exclusive contracts with their company began in March 2011, and they claim that their contracts only benefited their company and were extremely unfair to the band members. The terms of their contract state that the contract will last for a minimum of seven years, starting from the release of their first album (not from the date of the contract), which is much longer compared to other companies' contracts. Also, according to their statement, the contracts do not comply with laws regarding the protection of the civil rights of artists of their agency, do not take into account the consent of the artists to anything, rights to privacy, etc. The lawsuit also includes a statement regarding the distribution of income, which is beneficial exclusively to the company, and that they had to deal with conditions that put them at a disadvantage in the event of contract termination or loss to the agency. Despite the unfair content of the contract, since their debut in January 2012, V.A.R. have released 11 albums in various formats and held concerts all over the world, including Korea, Japan, China and even as far away as Mexico. Although the band members had to deal with deteriorating health, they tried their best for their fans. After a lengthy legal battle, the group managed to reach an understanding and compromise with the agency, and they returned to TS Entertainment on August 1, 2015.
