5 inch phone and 4000 mA battery. How to choose a portable battery. How does an external battery work?

A smartphone is a means of communication that allows you to be available not only for calls and messages, but also to promptly respond to emails, keep abreast of events happening in the world, and share events with friends. Users who squeeze all the juice out of their mobile phones know that at maximum load, few smartphones can last a working day, not to mention a day or a day. In this article, we have collected devices designed specifically for such cases when maximum autonomy and good functionality are needed.

All presented devices can be purchased in Ukraine. All of them run on Android, have an IPS screen, an 8 megapixel camera and a quad-core hardware platform. Among them there are models with screens from 4 to 6.1 inches, so everyone can choose a smartphone of a suitable form factor. In addition to the listed parameters, the model has a battery capacity of 4000 mAh and above. In some cases, along with the smartphone, the user receives two batteries, 4000 mAh or less, which allows you to turn small monsters into unremarkable devices, and only if you know that you will need additional autonomy, you can use a higher-capacity battery. For example, on business trips or travel.

For people who need not only good autonomy, but also high performance, they should pay attention to Lenovo and Huawei Ascend Mate smartphones. All of them have 2 GB of RAM, which is important for multitasking, plus the ability to expand permanent memory using Flash drives. All three are equipped with IPS screens with HD resolution. Lenovo smartphones have 5.3-inch screens, and Huawei Ascend Mate has the largest display, its diagonal is 6.1 inches. Such screens allow you to work with office documents relatively comfortably, and are also great for reading, watching videos and images.

The solution is truly unique and thanks to it the innos D6000 can with a clear conscience be called the most thoughtful long-lived smartphone. But in other respects, for a device costing 15,990 rubles, the innos D6000 is very interesting: a Japanese 5.2-inch Full HD screen, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory (usually 2 and 16 GB are offered for that kind of money), a good camera for 16 megapixels from OmniVision (USA), separate slots for microSD and SIM cards, update to Android 6.0 by the end of summer 2016.

Looking for a smartphone with a giant battery? And it’s not so important that it won’t be ultra-thin, because a capacious battery? If yes, then among the ones discussed below you can find one that you like. The battery has been and remains one of the weakest points of a modern smartphone. After all, he has everything that one could have dreamed of just a few years ago. A bright and clear screen, a powerful processor, a considerable amount of RAM and wonderful software. But its battery capacity is sometimes not enough even for one day of heavy use of the device. The eight phones reviewed do not have this drawback.

The YugaTech resource has made it easier for users to find a smartphone with a high-capacity battery by compiling an illustrated list of eight such devices. There are no outdated devices among those reviewed. After all, each of them runs at least Android KitKat.

Lenovo P70 (4000 mAh)

THL 5000 (5000 mAh)

A good alternative to the Gionee Marathon M3 for connoisseurs of giant batteries is the THL 5000. Its technical characteristics are better than those of the Gionee product discussed above. The smartphone is based on an eight-core MediaTek processor, has a 5-inch Full HD display, two gigabytes of RAM and NFC support. The device platform is Android KitKat.

Even smartphones with a 6000 mAh battery, although not often, are also . Which smartphone is preferable? With the latest operating system out of the box, a premium processor and a large high-resolution screen, or with a long-lasting battery that can last you all day? thin body? Or is it better to charge your phone more often, just to make it thinner?

Smartphones with a 4000 mAh battery are still very rare. Despite the fact that the battery capacity of mobile devices is constantly increasing, most smartphones still do not even reach 3000 mAh.

And with such a battery, even the simplest smartphones work for no more than two days. Not to mention the flagship models with large screens and powerful processors. Such smartphone models eat up their battery after half a day of active use.

If this state of affairs does not suit you, then we suggest that you read this article. Here we have collected a number of smartphones with a 4000 mAh battery that can be purchased in early 2017.

Now in the Xiaomi device line there are quite a lot of smartphones with a 4000 mAh battery or more. These are smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi 3, Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Xiaomi Redmi 4, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Xiaomi, Xiaomi Mi Max. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, Xiaomi Redmi 3X.

Naturally, there is no point in considering all these models within the framework of this article. Therefore, further we will talk only about the Xiaomi Redmi 4 smartphone, which currently has the best price-to-feature ratio.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 is a smartphone with an all-metal body and a design typical of Chinese devices. The back of the device houses the camera, flash and fingerprint scanner. The front side of the smartphone is protected by tempered glass with an oleophobic coating.

The technical characteristics of the device are at an average level. It uses a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×720 and a pixel density of 294 ppi, two cameras of 13 and 5 megapixels, an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 MSM8937 processor with an Adreno 505 graphics accelerator, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, as well as a battery 4100 mAh.

Among other features of the smartphone, it is worth noting support for two SIM cards, memory cards, 4th generation mobile networks (in addition to GPS/GLONASS).

ASUS, of course, does not have so many smartphones with a 4000 mAh battery, but there are still several interesting models. For example, ASUS ZenFone 3 Max ZC520TL 16Gb.

ASUS ZenFone 3 Max is a smartphone with a metal body and a large screen. On the back of the device there is a camera and a fingerprint scanner. On the front of the device there is protective glass and the ASUS logo.

The technical characteristics of the ZC520TL 16Gb model are at an average level. It used a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×720 and a pixel density of 282 PPI, two cameras of 13 and 5 megapixels, a quad-core processor with a Mali-T720 graphics accelerator, 2 GB of internal memory, 16 GB of RAM, and a 4130 battery mAh

In addition, it should be noted that it supports memory cards, two SIM cards and 4th generation mobile networks.

LG, like other market leaders, rarely releases smartphones with a 4000 mAh battery. For example, now LG has only one smartphone with such a capacious battery, this is the LG X Power K220DS model.

Unlike the previous models described, the LG X Power K220DS smartphone does not have a metal case. Instead, its body was made of rubberized plastic, which, admittedly, is no less practical than metal. Thanks to this material, the smartphone will be less susceptible to scratches and impacts. On the back of the device there is only a camera, a flash and a slot for the speaker; there is no fingerprint scanner. On the front of the device there is a protective glass and the LG logo.

Technical characteristics of this smartphone include: 5.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×720 and a density of 277 ppi, two cameras of 5 and 13 megapixels, a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with a Mali-T720 video accelerator and a clock frequency of 1300 MHz, 2 GB of RAM , 16 GB of internal memory, as well as a 4100 mAh battery.

Also among the capabilities of the smartphone, it should be noted that there is support for memory cards, two slots for SIM cards and 4th generation mobile networks.

Meizu also has smartphones with a 4000 mAh battery or more. These are the Meizu M3 Note, Meizu M3 Max and Meizu M5 Note models. For example, we will look at the Meizu M5 Note 16Gb model. This is a smartphone with an all-metal body. On the back of the device there is only a camera, flash and the company logo. On the front side there is a protective glass and a fingerprint scanner.

The technical characteristics of the Meizu M5 Note 16Gb are slightly above average. It uses a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 and a pixel density of 401 ppi, two cameras of 5 and 13 megapixels, an eight-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with a Mali-T860 MP2 video accelerator, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory. The smartphone is also equipped with a 4000 mAh battery.

In addition, it should be noted that Meizu M3 Note 16Gb supports memory cards, two SIM cards and 4th generation mobile networks.

By what criteria choose a portable “battery”, what to look for when ordering and purchasing? Short and succinct instructions for yourself, a friend, a friend, a grandfather and a neighbor. If they gave you a link here, it means they really want to help you;)

Why do you need an external battery?

How often have each of us encountered the battery on our favorite smartphone running out at the most crucial moment? With the development of technology, this question has become rhetorical. Just ten years ago, few people could be surprised weekly battery life of the device. You won't see this now.

As a rescue in a situation "Battery low" and the guests of my story today were invented - external batteries. What are these things and what do they eat them with?
*they are not eaten

How does an external battery work?

External battery– it’s like an internal battery, only external (your Captain Obvious). Several batteries are soldered to a small controller board, to which, in turn, connectors are attached for charging our gadgets and the battery itself. The reliability of the entire structure depends mainly on the use of high-quality components and adherence to the manufacturing process.

From this follows the main rule - do not buy extremely cheap portable batteries. In the vast majority of cases, they will be assembled as crookedly as possible, from the lowest quality components. I’ll tell you a little later about the minimum price a high-quality external battery can have.

Main characteristics of a portable battery

Their three, these are the ones you should pay attention to when choosing (and only then look at the design).

1. Capacity

The most important characteristic that determines how long a battery can provide energy to a particular device. To put it simply, this is the operating time of the battery without additional recharging. It is measured in ampere hours, in our case – in milliampere hours (mAh, mAh).

Basic rule: for comfortable use, the capacity of the external battery must be at least 2 times more than the battery capacity of the device being recharged.

For example, the iPhone 6 has a battery capacity of 1 810 mAh. In order not to be afraid of being left without communication for a day when constantly using a smartphone, you should choose a battery for it 3 500-4 000 mAh. This is guaranteed to be enough for one full battery charge.

Golden mean batteries with a capacity of about 6,000 mAh can be considered for comfortable use of a smartphone for several days. A capacity of more than 12,000 mAh is extremely versatile and is suitable for users of smartphones and tablets, including at the same time.

2. Current strength when discharging

The standard is a connector with a current of 1 A for charging smartphones and 1.5 - 2 A for charging tablets. In simple terms, the current in the battery indirectly affects the charging speed of the connected device.

In this case advice already two. First, keep an eye on matching battery current and your smartphone manufacturer's specifications. The best indicator for this will be the included charger. For example, with iPhones, Apple charges with a current of 1A. With iPad – already 2A.

Accordingly, it is advisable to charge the iPhone from the 1A port in your battery, and the tablet from 2A.

The second tip concerns primarily tablet owners Apple: You need a 2A portable battery. Don't even look at 1A, it's simply not strong enough to power the huge battery in your iPad. To find out the amperage before purchasing a battery, simply look at the markings next to its USB port. In 99% of cases everything is clearly written there.

3. Size and weight

Golden rule: the higher the capacity and the more ports, the larger there will be a battery.

There are again two pieces of advice. First - choose a battery to suit your regime using a smartphone or tablet. It’s one thing to be a fragile girl who just wants to sit on social networks and chat with a guy for one or two hours. And it’s completely different when a stern bearded man – a lover of hiking and bard songs – wants to listen to these songs in the forest, also with clips on YouTube, for two or three days. A small and portable battery is enough for a girl, but a bearded man should immediately buy a “tank” with 15 thousand mAh, no less.

Second tip - don't be fooled by the huge capacity batteries in a small or amazingly cheap device. This does not happen and will never happen. Stay realistic.

All other “goodies”, such as the presence of a flashlight, a solar battery, a shock-resistant case, etc., are not necessary for daily use (although sometimes useful), and only add an extra penny to the price of the product. The only really necessary option is a battery charge indicator, but almost all models have it, so we won’t focus on it.

So, which external battery would be ideal for a modern gadget? To play games, watch a movie, and not be left without communication for several days...

  • Capacity: 6,000 mAh for a smartphone and from 12,000 mAh for a tablet;
  • Current strength: one connector for 1A, or two connectors for 1A and 2A;
  • Weight no more than 250 grams (but if you are a stern bearded man, then this is not so important);
  • Necessary options: charge indicator and power button recessed into the body.

Everything else is up to you, there are a lot of different design solutions and interesting options.

Minimum price for a quality battery

Let's look at a high-quality battery from one well-known manufacturer. Capacity – 10 400 mAh. Many people consider this battery a reference, and it’s hard to argue with them. Its approximate price consists of:

  • 4 Samsung ICR18650-26F batteries – $20.
  • Electronics, assembly and packaging – $5-10.
  • Logistics and seller’s interest – $5-10.

Total – $30-40 or about 1200-2000 rubles(at the current exchange rate). This figure may fluctuate, but the point is different...

A 10,000 mAh battery from eBay for 600 rubles is too much good to be true. Not to mention 20 thousand mAh for the same money - and other nonsense that Russian buyers willingly believe in, flaunting “savings” left and right. Don’t be fooled by cheap prices, trust products from well-known brands, read reviews and, above all, think. This is the most important thing.
