Road to Reggio Emilia

We left no longer on buses, but on a regional train to a neighboring larger city, where we rented an apartment through. We didn’t buy tickets in advance, since we didn’t know how long we’d be exploring the city, and there were tickets on sale for regional trains in Italy before departure.
It’s only 15 minutes by train to Modena, and what a pity it was to pay 2.95 € when in the morning you only paid 1 € for 3 hours on a comfortable bus. I’ll get ahead of myself and say that the small streets here disappointed me a little, but I liked walking under the arches of the main street. On one side there is a thin pedestrian strip, but on the other there is a solid arch.
And one more photo of the main street to show how it all looks from the outside. It’s a pity that it’s not pedestrian-only, because modern cars parked along the entire street spoil the atmosphere of the small province.
But here are the inner streets that did not live up to my expectations. The atmosphere was spoiled by solid asphalt. Apparently there are very few tourists here and they are not going to preserve or restore stone paving stones for them, as is done in large cities where there are many tourists. And I was naive and thought that in a small town it should be everywhere on small streets.
The street in the next photo seemed to me to be the best among the small streets, but it was also on asphalt. And again the cars in the background and foreground spoiled everything.
A cat freely roaming these streets brought some positive vibes. I didn’t see any more cats in this city, but there were a large number of dogs on the walk.
I will continue the positive wave with the courtyards of Reggio Emilia; it is not possible to get into many of them since they are closed, but if you see an open passage, the interior should not disappoint. Make a historical movie here right now.

When the mood rose, Reggio Emilia began to please me more and more. I liked the small squares here and the cheap coffee there. A cup of coffee was drunk in Piazza Camillo Prampolini. This square and next to it have one of the largest concentrations of city attractions.
If you look closely at the monument in the photograph of the Town Hall, you can see that it is overgrown with grass and it is in the central square of the city, in the same place as the City Hall. Which once again says that they have completely forgotten about tourists here.
