Their transfer often gives rise to assumptions that the channel itself is experiencing some problems - for example, it cannot provide decent fees, is preparing to radically change its format, or is planning to close down altogether. As the TV presenter said in his own open letter, there were mainly two reasons:
- Firstly, the original program offered to Malakhov by the Rossiya-1 TV channel seemed more interesting to him than the show “Let Them Talk,” which has an openly scandalous reputation.
- Secondly, Andrei Malakhov realized that it was time for him to develop further - but it turned out to be impossible to do this within the framework of the leading show on Channel One.
According to the presenter, after twenty-five years of work on the channel, he remained a “son of the regiment” - that is, an experienced, star, highly paid performer, nevertheless forced to obey the instructions of his superiors. The producers of the “Let Them Talk” show were other people, and sometimes they made decisions with which Malakhov did not agree. Malakhov said that he wrote a five-page letter to his manager, Konstantin Lvovich Ernst, and then met with him: “We parted to think again about where the channel is heading, what it might look like in the future and about my role on this channel. Unfortunately, we never met the second time. When I was on my way to this meeting, the girl editor who worked for me called and asked which entrance I would be entering from to set up the camera. But I didn’t want to meet in front of the cameras, so I didn’t get there... I was just going to the meeting. The TV presenter revealed a secret: now he will become an employee of the VGTRK channel “Russia 1” and will host his own program “Andrey Malakhov. As Malakhov stated, he had long ago “outgrown” both “Tonight” and “Let Them Talk,” in addition, he had long dreamed of his own project, his own TV show.

This is a situation where your colleagues came much later, but already have their own projects. And you still have the same old status. Malakhov did not expand on the conflict with Natalya Nikonova, who returned after a long break to Channel One and who once came up with “Let Them Talk,” noting only that “you have to be consistent in love and dislike.”
It turns out that Malakhov warned the management of First about leaving a long time ago, but for a long time they did not believe him.
