How to draw a cup of tea. Cup with a pencil - secrets of step-by-step drawing

Who are we anyway to criticize things that supposedly don’t suit us or don’t like us? But the majority, without knowing it, cruelly criticize and humiliate everything that is not included in the worldview they have created. Whether it be musical tastes or personal opinion, everything that can be reached by the keen eye of others will immediately be subject to brutal censorship. At the same time, in order to give themselves sophistication and pathos, they hold up and, sticking out their little finger with a smart look on their face, talk about the taste of picada and romesco, which they have not even tried. (I was joking about myself just now). As a sign of protest to myself, I pick up my tablet and make a lesson on how to draw a mug step by step. Yeah, this is such a simple thing. A mug is a cylindrical product without a bottom, sealed at the top. You can only store it in a vacuum and a little pressed air. But people use an inverted mug, turning it upside down, thereby disturbing the balance of forces of dark and light forces on Jupiter. The inverted mug is used in areas where it can and wants to, and even more - mugs have been seen with astronauts in outer space, archaeologists found them and they say that the mug appeared before the dinosaurs.

British scientists conducted a study in which it turned out that 89.9% of people who used the mug in one way or another died, the rest died from an unknown disease. The mug can carry water, sand, intestinal diseases, emptiness or contraband. She also took part in many sacrifices and rituals, each time under a different guise.

But this is something you couldn’t even imagine:

  • Chuck Norris can kill with a mug without even touching it;
  • The Holy Grail is also a mug;
  • She's someone who can be half full and half empty at the same time;
  • It must have a handle; without a handle it is just a dull pot;
  • The chance of breaking your favorite mug into smithereens is 10 times greater than an ordinary one;
  • The first mugs were made from animal skulls, but after the Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the exploitation of animal body parts stopped.
  • Only 5% of the inhabitants of planet Earth can draw such a device on paper.

Want to test your abilities? Well, go ahead.

How to draw a mug with a pencil step by step

Step one. Draw a square shape for the mug and a handle for it. Step two. Draw the design on the mug with horizontal lines, and also make the handle more voluminous. Step three. Let's start with shading at the top and also outline the contours thicker. Step four. Now is the most difficult and crucial stage. Need to add shadows. Carefully examine the incidence of light on the mug. Below are some equally interesting lessons.

To learn how to draw various objects, animals, you first need to try to draw simple objects, such as a mug, a glass or a glass. The drawing of an ordinary tea cup will become good educational material to study symmetry and perspective, creating volume in a two-dimensional image. A mug or cup looks very simple just in the picture; in fact, when drawing these objects you need to follow the rules of symmetry, proportions, and perspective. You need to be able to use shadows to make a two-dimensional image of a mug three-dimensional. So be sure to try to draw a cup with a simple pencil. This will be a good lesson for acquiring initial skills in drawing objects using the pencil technique. To make it easier for you to draw a mug, we will perform the drawing in stages. Let's try it step by step draw a cup and learn to draw simple-looking mugs and glasses.

1. Initial marking of the cup design

Draw vertical and horizontal lines intersecting each other. Make a rectangular preliminary marking of the neck at the top of the mug. The neck of the cup will be the most important part of the design, so pay more attention to this element. Draw the bottom of the mug.

If you draw a glass or glass, you also need to do the first step in exactly the same way. Only a glass can have a much longer stem, and, of course, other differences.

2. Preliminary outlines of the mug

Connect the neck of the cup to the bottom with lines that taper slightly downward. Perhaps your mug has a different shape, draw it differently. This lesson only tells you how to draw step by step and where you can make a mistake. It is precisely at this step that you need to make sure that both sides of the mug are symmetrical. Even in my drawing you can see that left side a little narrower than the right one. Mark the places where the handle will be.

3. Preliminary handle contours

Using the previous contours, draw the approximate outline of the handle of the cup. To prevent the handle from turning out crooked and uneven in thickness, do not be lazy to make preliminary markings.

4. Clarify the general outline of the mug

Now let’s clarify a little the neck and the basic shape of the mug along with the handle. The walls of the cup have a certain thickness and therefore you need to draw an additional outline inside the neck of the mug. Having discovered a discrepancy in the symmetry of the sides, you can correct it, for example, in the same way as I did. Complete the entire drawing of the cup handle.

5. Cup drawing, finishing touches

Remove any extra contour lines and double-check that you have drawn everything correctly before moving on to toning the mug with a simple pencil.

6. Using shadows we will make the cup voluminous

Always, before applying shadows with a simple pencil on an object in a drawing, imagine from which side the light will fall. In places further away from the light source, the shadows will be “thicker” and vice versa. Pay attention to the neck of the mug. Inner part I did not shade the neck of the mug, shade it yourself if you consider it necessary. Well, after the drawing of the cup is completely completed, be sure to try drawing a saucer, teapot and other cutlery next to it.

All students take the lesson “How to draw a vase” with a pencil art school. A vase, mug or glass is a classic educational material for studying perspective, symmetry and techniques for creating volume in objects.

In this lesson we will try to draw a rose step by step. If you can already draw a beautiful glass or mug, then you can take on a more difficult task.

A chamomile, like a cup drawing, is not as easy to draw as it might seem. If you need to draw this flower beautifully, then try to do it in stages.

Castle drawing is good lesson for learning to draw buildings and houses. Using an ordinary pencil, you will gradually learn to draw the proportions of a building, create a perspective for the landscape surrounding the castle, and learn to add volume to the walls and towers of the castle using shadows and lines.

A house is an architectural structure, so when drawing it step by step, you first need to build a drawing of the house, and only then start adding details to the picture of the house. When drawing a building, you can’t do without a ruler, and of course a pencil. The house should look symmetrical, so you need to accurately mark the dimensions of height and width using a ruler.

Nowadays, graffiti is very popular among young people, but not everyone can draw graffiti beautifully and stylishly. Let's try to learn how to draw graffiti on paper with a pencil, then color the resulting inscription with paints or colored felt-tip pens.

Already from early age Children have a favorite cup, which is somehow different from others. Perhaps this is the very first cup or it was given as a gift for a special event. Or maybe the kid won it for participating in a competition. Drinking from your favorite cup is a pleasure. Even plain water much tastier. Why not use it as an idea for a new drawing for your baby's collection. Offer to draw together. We assure you that he will like it. You can place your child's dishes in front of you and use them as an example. We, in turn, offer steps for depicting this object, with which it will be easy to draw a cup. You will need: a sheet of paper; pencil; eraser; compass;
Step 1

Warp

On a piece of paper, draw a horizontally elongated oval.

Walls

Circle this oval. The oval should be in the center. The edges of the circle touch the oval.

Step 3

Upper part

Erase the top half of the circle and leave the outline of the cup.

Step 4

Saucer

Draw another oval at the bottom to represent a saucer.
Erase the line of the oval that intersects with the cup so that part of the saucer is behind the cup.

Step 5

Headband

Circle the top of the cup with another oval, depicting a rim. The line should be straight and very close to the edge of the cup.

Step 6

Bottom

Draw a small oval where the cup meets the saucer.
From this oval, draw two short vertical lines up and draw a rectangle, the same width as the oval.
Erase unnecessary lines, leaving part of the rectangle. We will get the bottom of the cup.

Step 7

Saucer center

We draw another oval, as if outlining the lower part of the cup.
We erase the part of the oval that is inside the cup.

Step 8

Ear

WITH right side draw an ear for the cup by which we hold it. We depict the part in the form of two identical curved lines.
If the ear intersects with some element, erase it.

Step 9

Drawing

Your favorite cup must have a design on it. Therefore, at the top, draw two identical horizontal lines.
Inside the lines, draw any shapes, such as triangles.
Complete the drawing with a pair of horizontal lines that are a short distance from the main drawing.

Drawing a mug is not as easy as it seems. She has own form, which you need to be able to convey. This will require basic drawing skills and knowledge of perspective. Imagine that the mug is a cylinder. Try to look through it. You will see ovals that are at the bottom and at the top. Also, light and shadow fall on the cylinder, which is darkest at the border. And there are reflexes that form at the junction of an object and paper.

Learn how to draw a mug with a pencil step by step using simple drawing skills. Sharpen your pencils, let's begin!

Drawing details

First of all, outline the main proportions. Draw a line that runs down the center of the mug's cylinder (that is, not counting the handle).

Draw two ovals to represent the edges of the mug and saucer. Notice that the oval is wider at the bottom than at the top. This arises due to the nature of perspective. That is, the ovals are not symmetrical.

Inside the top oval, draw another one, 3-5 mm smaller in size. This forms the neck of the cup. Use smooth lines to show its shape. But what if you get it wrong and you can’t understand why or how?

It's easy to draw a mug with a pencil. To make the lines as even as possible, it is better to draw from top to bottom - it’s more convenient. Guide the pencil firmly. Be sure to sharpen the lead.

  1. Draw the bottom of the cup to show its volume.
  2. Afterwards, during the work process, this oval will not necessarily be erased.
  3. Outline the guideline for the handle, leaving an oval to which it will be attached.
  4. Draw a small oval inside the other one, which is intended for the saucer (this is important even in how to draw a mug). This will show its thickness. It will be clear that the mug is not standing on a napkin, but has some kind of voluminous plate.

Draw the shape of the handle. Check curved line at the bottom, which will mean that a handle will be attached there. The cup has a stand attached to the bottom. Show this with an oval.

Complete the shape of the handle, and also show another oval inside the cup, which will indicate the level to which it will be filled with the drink.

Draw the details at your discretion, compare the proportions. Erase the guide lines.

Hatching

Drawing light and shadow is the main work. It's worth paying attention to special attention, if you want to draw a mug step by step. The sketch should take no more than 15 minutes. And to shade correctly, beginners need half an hour. Apply strokes horizontally in a semicircle, then you can easily convey the cylindrical shape and volume of the mug.

Light and shadow

Can't make the image look realistic? How to draw a similar mug, knowledge in drawing light and shadow will help you. The latter may occupy half or less of the image. Also, a shadow can cover an entire object. Its location depends on the lighting.

In high light, the shadow on the subject will be slanted. The cast shadow will lie on the surface closer to horizontal position, but to a vertical one, but still with an inclination in a certain direction.

If the light source is on the side, then the shadow will be vertical on the cylinder and occupy a certain part. And its size will depend on the angle from which you draw. The cast shadow will lie horizontally.

If the light is behind the subject, the shadow will completely cover it. Contrasting outlines will appear. But the gradient and cast shadow will also remain. In this case, it is more difficult to draw - you need to try not to make the cylinder too dark, especially if it is made of plaster. Otherwise the texture will appear metallic. And instead white another, darker one will be visible. Now imagine how difficult it is to transfer a bust to paper, while drawing a mug is as easy as shelling pears.

Gradation

With the gradation from light to dark more gradual, and from high light gradually increase the tone, which increases the strength of the shadow of the object, and gradually becomes a shadow. IN in this case, the shadows also become darker from bottom to top. At the junction with the surface it is the lightest.

The drawing imperfectly represents a gradation in which there are no sharp changes from one element to the next. In the base light, shadows usually appear where they come into contrast with the highlights. Also, in any lighting conditions there are gradations. At the junction with light, the shadow is darkest in tone. After this junction, the shadow is softer and darkens again towards the edge of the cylinder, but does not become the heaviest in tone. This knowledge even helps in how to draw a mug, because it also has a cylindrical shape.

Cast shadow

The shadow is not completely horizontal. She walks with an upward slope. But it can be positioned differently, depending on the lighting. The shadow that is closest to the cylinder is the darkest. And it also has a gradient - from the object to the junction with the wall. Shadows soften as you move away from the subject. The shadow also has an outline. When you show it, try to make an outline, not a stroke. The shadow that falls on the wall is darker than even a cylinder.

Instructions

The sheet can be laid either horizontally or vertically. The height and width of the cup, as a rule, are not very different from each other. Therefore, it will look good in any position of the sheet. Just try to keep it in the middle.

Put cup at some distance from yourself. It is better if it is slightly below your eye level. Whether or not to drapery depends entirely on your desire. Approximately determine the ratio of height and widest part, as well as wide and narrow parts. Carefully examine the bending line of the side surface. Trace the side lines in the air and memorize the movement.

Draw a vertical line down the center of the sheet. The main part of the cup is symmetrical about the vertical axis, and this must be taken into account. Set aside an axial segment equal to the height. Mark its beginning and end with dots.

Draw 2 horizontal lines through the marked points. Set aside pieces equal to the largest and smallest width of the cup. The widest place in a simple-shaped cup is the top, the narrowest is the bottom. The midpoints of both segments should be at the intersection of the axial line and the horizontal lines.

Draw ovals through the end points of each horizontal segment. The widest part of one and the other oval falls on the center line. The line of the upper oval is the same thickness everywhere. At the bottom, circle brighter the part that is closest to the bottom edge of the sheet. The second half of the bottom will not be visible.

Connect the points with which you marked the width of the upper and lower parts in pairs with a line repeating the line of the side surface of the cup. If you don't remember exactly how it goes, draw it in the air again and repeat the movement on paper.

Trace a pen in the air. Please note that it must be two parallel curved lines. Repeat the movement on the paper in the same direction in which you drew it in the air. Draw the outer line of the handle first, and then the inner one.

Give the cup shape. First apply an even, light coat of paint over outer surface cups. Paint the top oval with an even layer of the same paint, but in a cooler shade. For example, paint the outer part with white paint with the addition of yellow or pink, and for the inner part add blue or greenish white paint. Apply a thicker layer to the outer part. Imagine that a triangle with jagged edges is depicted on the surface of the cup, and apply a second layer to the part of the surface that will be outside this triangle. Darken the bottom corners with another layer.
