Eurovision 2017 ended in Kyiv. The main European song competition was rich in completely non-vocal discoveries. Ukraine banned the entry of Russian participant Yulia Samoilova for her performance in Crimea. At the same time, the representative of Bulgaria, Christian Kostov, who had committed the same "offence", took the stage. Last year's winner, Ukrainian singer Jamala, was not allowed into the opening ceremony and the chairman of the Ukrainian Eurovision 2017 jury, poet Yuriy Rybchinsky, was not invited. There were some embarrassments in live. RT sums up the non-musical results of Eurovision 2017.

Bookmakers predict victory at Eurovision 2017 Italian singer Francesco Gabani with the song Occidentali's Karma ("Karma of a Westerner"), but he took only sixth place. The crystal microphone went to the representative of Portugal, Salvador Sobral, with the song Amar Pelos Dois ("Love for Two"), who received 758 points for his performance .

In second place is the representative of Bulgaria Christian Kostov (615 points), in third place is the Moldovan team Sunstroke Project (374). Ukrainian rock band O.Torvald scored only 36 points and took 24th place out of 26.

O. Torvald's performance was the worst in the history of Ukraine's participation in Eurovision. The performer received 7 points each from viewers in Italy and the Czech Republic, 4 from Georgia, 3 from Portugal, 2 points from Poland and one more from Belarus. The national jury also did not rate the group's performance highly. Azerbaijan - 7 points, Israel - 4 and Bulgaria - 1.

“In 2005, after Ruslana (the winner of Eurovision 2004. - RT ), Grinjols performed, who took 19th place out of 24, which then became Ukraine’s worst achievement at Eurovision. Now it’s even worse,” states the editor of the Ukrainian publication “Our Money” Yuri Nikolov.

Poroshenko kept silent about the speech of the Ukrainian representatives.

Euroscandals 2017

Eurovision 2017 is considered by many to be one of the most scandalous of the entire competition. It started with the fact that the Security Service of Ukraine banned the entry of Russian participant Yulia Samoilova for her performance in Crimea without the consent of the Ukrainian authorities. This is the first similar case in the history of the competition. Even representatives of the European Broadcasting Union could not convince the organizers.

Later it turned out that the representative of Bulgaria, Christian Kostov, also spoke in Crimea. However, this did not stop him from taking the stage at the International Exhibition Center.

The State Border Service was forced to make excuses for shortcomings.

“In connection with the appearance of information about the performance of a Eurovision 2017 participant from Bulgaria in Crimea in 2014, the State Border Service of Ukraine reports that the agency acts exclusively within the powers granted. This information“It is now being studied in detail and verified jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine,” the statement says.

© viva.ua The competition was also not without its hiccups. During the performance of the Ukrainian singer Jamala, the notorious pranker Vitaly Sedyuk made his way onto the stage, bypassing the security guards, and exposed his buttocks. At least 200 million people watched the event live.

“In response to inquiries about an idiot baring his butt in front of 200 million television viewers. Sedyuk is a Ukrainian citizen. During our Jamala’s speech, in his words, he decided to pursue his hobby, since “he unofficially works as a provocative journalist,” Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on his Facebook page.

Organization at the level

Against the backdrop of Sedyuk’s bare bottom, the rest of the shortcomings of the competition organizers seem insignificant. For example, last year's winner, singer Jamala, was not allowed on the red carpet. According to the singer's producer Igor Tarnopolsky, on the night before the opening the singer was asked to fly in by helicopter, although permission for this was not issued.

“Of course, we went to the ceremony by car. They didn’t let us in for 20 minutes - cordons of police, national guard, and parole guarded the entrance from Jamala, looked at us, apologized, but couldn’t let us through. There was no route plan, no regulations, no protocol, simple instructions... nothing. “Can you imagine what it would be like with a helicopter,” he said.

Inside the Parkovy exhibition center, where the event took place, the badges of the singer and her producer were not working on the turnstiles.

“At the opening ceremony there was neither a press wall, nor an area for photographers and journalists, nor, in fact, the majority of delegations,” Tarnopolsky continued. - It looked like there were two parallel parties taking place at Parkovy. On one, people are drinking and chatting, animators from the circus school are walking between them, and on the other, in a completely empty dark hall, there is an orchestra folk instruments NAONI plays Eurovision hits on banduras and cymbals.”

The chairman of the Ukrainian Eurovision 2017 jury, poet Yuriy Rybchinsky, also did not receive an invitation to the red carpet, as well as to the show at the International Exhibition Center.

“It’s not just that I wasn’t invited to the red carpet, I haven’t yet received - as such - even an invitation to the Eurovision Song Contest itself. Do I need to contact the organizers for this? What can we say if Jamal was not allowed on the red carpet? In what country did this happen? The man won Eurovision and thanks to him the competition itself is held. But this artist is not allowed on the red carpet, at the opening ceremony. This is some kind of theater of the absurd. And we, alas, still occupy first place in this “theater,” Rybchinsky told Ukrainian media.

Not your holiday

According to residents of Kyiv, Ukrainian officials managed to create a holiday only for 20 thousand foreigners who came to the competition. The residents of Kiev faced a lot of inconveniences. The entire area near the Eurovision venue, the International Exhibition Center, was blocked off, and order was guarded by several cordons of police.

globallookpress.com © Julian Stratenschulte/dpa A significant part of the residents of the left bank of the capital faced a transport collapse: traffic jams in this area were observed even at 12 at night, and metro stations were overcrowded.

“On the topic of Eurovision, after ten in the evening hundreds of people are stuck in traffic jams because two empty lanes are fenced off with concrete blocks. But why be surprised, because thinking about people, and sometimes just thinking, is not “our” style. How is it, one of the main points when choosing a location for an event is suitable infrastructure? It is logical to assume that if in a densely populated area, at the site of the main traffic intersection, a three-lane road needs to be converted into a single-lane road, then this place is probably not very suitable for holding an event. Well, it’s also difficult to imagine in one’s right mind that the city authorities would give permission for something like this. But voila, enjoy, the Kiev-style organization is in action,” Kiev resident Lyudmila Shilina is indignant on her Facebook.

Difficulties also arose with the reconstruction of the Levoberezhnaya metro station, which is located near the International Exhibition Center. A month before the start of the competition, it turned out that people with disabilities could not enter the doors of the station, which led to protests. Everything had to be redone urgently.

The Kyiv authorities generally coped with ensuring security. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they uncovered 10 out of 12 cases of theft or fraud involving the property of foreign guests. This is a record figure. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the average crime detection rate in the country is about 20%.

Expensive and angry

Ukraine spent about €30 million on hosting Eurovision 2017. Some expenditure items surprised experts. For example, about 20 million UAH (€689 thousand) was spent on air tickets for the organizers of the competition, about 2 million UAH (€69 thousand) - on a film with Verka Serduchka, about 1 million UAH (€34 thousand) were paid to Jamala for performance of several songs.

“And of course, I am outraged by one more fact. I can’t remain silent about this. This is that for the current Eurovision budget three similar competitions could be held. I don’t know where our prosecutor’s office is looking, but on the surface this is the corruption component of this competition. For example, last year in Stockholm a similar competition was held for €9 million and quite decently. Estonia once spent €12 million. But many countries have never even dreamed of figures like ours. Poor people in Europe - and the most expensive Eurovision,” Yuri Rybchinsky assessed the costs of the competition.

RIA Novosti

The expensive show failed to attract viewers. You could get to any of the concerts without any problems. The final rehearsals were held in half-empty halls, and for the two semi-finals television shows About 2 thousand places remained vacant. The organizers decided to reduce prices by 80% - to 500 UAH (€18) for all tickets, with the exception of the VIP zone. But that didn't help either. There were places for the finals, probably for the first time in the history of the competition. So, singer Jamala bought four tickets a few hours before the start of the event.

After the end of Eurovision in Kyiv, losses and lost profits are calculated. The capital's restaurants were unable to make money from the competition - residents of the Ukrainian capital refused to visit them due to the blocked city center. Hoteliers are also dissatisfied: many hotels are missing guests from the regions.

On the night of May 13-14, the final of Eurovision 2017 took place in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.

The winner of Eurovision 2017 was Salvador Sobral (Portugal)
with the song "Amar pelos dois".

27-year-old Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral has been seriously ill since birth - he has a heart defect. He missed the semi-final rehearsals and arrived in Kyiv in time for the dress rehearsal and the start of the semi-final. In case of unplanned situations it had to be replaced sister- its author victory song"Amar Pelos Dois" Louise.

In his song, Salvador sings about a heart that “will withstand everything and can love for two.” It is known that soon after the final, Sobral is scheduled to undergo heart surgery.

This was stated in an interview with the Ukrainian radio station “Voice of the Capital” by Dmitry Feliksov, head of the ticket sales service Concert.ua.

Winner of Eurovision 2017 - Salvador Collected "Amar Pelos Dois" (video):

The results of Eurovision 2017 were quite unexpected, as bookmakers made fairly accurate predictions this year. Even on the eve of the Eurovision final, they named the main contender for victory, which, according to their forecasts, was supposed to be an Italian. But the jury and spectators decided otherwise - they gave more votes for the Portuguese.

Second place at Eurovision 2017 was taken by a participant from Bulgaria, who, like the winner Salvador Sobral, was one of the main favorites of the competition. He scored 615 points, which, although did not allow the native of Moscow to beat his main rival at Eurovision 2017, gave him the right to become an honorary “silver” medalist of the prestigious competition.

Third place at Eurovision 2017 was taken by the Sunstroke Project group from Moldova, which received 374 votes from the audience - the jury awarded the Moldovan performer only 8th place.

Eurovision 2017: results

Eurovision 2017 results - final table

The results of Eurovision 2017, which determined the winner of the competition, were not the only surprise for viewers this year. The voting results were unexpected for many participants. For example, Italy, which bookmakers predicted to win the competition, took only 6th place in the final table, and Swedish participant Robin Bengtsson, who performed the song “I Can’t Go On,” beat the competition favorite Francesco Gabbani - took 5th place in "Eurovision-2017".

As for Ukrainian group O.Torvald, whom bookmakers predicted no higher than 23rd place in the final of the competition, then she fully justified the forecasts - Ukraine took 24th place at Eurovision 2017.

It should be added that Eurovision 2017 became the longest competition in history. recent years- it lasted not the usual week in May, but almost a whole year, starting immediately after the end of Eurovision 2016, at which Ukrainian singer. This year there were also high-profile situations that darkened the competition in the eyes of many of its fans.

It all started with a long definition of a Ukrainian city in which there will be a competition, then disputes between the European Broadcasting Union and Ukraine began over funding, after which the organizing team on the Ukrainian side was replaced. In the final, Kyiv completely surprised Russian singer, resulting in Eurovision and broadcasting it in the Russian Federation.

In general, Eurovision 2017 will go down in history, albeit not like Eurovision 1974, which gave the world the group ABBA, but as the most scandalous festival in the entire history of the competition.
