This is what all these gangsta rappers are really like. Everyone understands this perfectly well, that’s why they don’t worry, but simply have fun with their idols.
There are times when some narrow-minded gangsta rapper plays at being a criminal and begins to pretend to be a bandit in real life. This is where the real laughter comes in. When people begin to seriously confuse the shores. This happened, for example, in the case of the conflict between Basta and Nemagia, when Vasya felt like a real super gaygsta and only embarrassed himself in front of everyone. This is because real criminals are in prison, and not hanging out in show business. All show business is a circus and everyone in it is clowns who entertain stupid rednecks and make money from it.
The Boss haters are simply infuriated by the fact that Igor came up with a really cool and unique style for himself, thanks to which he broke through to the top and became popular while other mediocrities could not come up with something similar. Although it would seem that the image is easy and it is not difficult to come up with it. However, only Igor thought of fur coats and crowns.
Also, without being a hater: you need to be a true connoisseur of such rants in order to properly appreciate the unique style of BRB. However, if you don’t like it, don’t eat it.
Big Russian Bo$$ and Young P&H: “Personally, this has not been funny to us for a long time”
Having started as a one-time mockery of Russian rap, the Big Russian Bo$$ project over time proved that it could capture a much larger audience than the inhabitants of rap publics. He is scheduled for September new album“I.G.O.R.” Before the exit, Boss (whose real name is Igor) and his partner Young P&H (Stas) told us about Barry White, MDK, false beards and their own business projects.
Have you known each other for a long time?
Stas: We met seven or eight years ago, when we were in tenth grade. They gathered at my house with my classmate, who later became Mantis, and wrote down all sorts of shit on a Genius “stick.” Mostly they were in awe of Samara rappers. In parallel with all this. (bullshit) were doing graffiti. Just like Igor, with whom we once crossed paths at Urbania. His team and I had a beef, so our acquaintance did not begin with friendship. We met at the switch, everything was tough. And then, when I was already studying at university, Igor dropped by for a visit. They began again in all sorts of ways. (bullshit) write.
But the songs didn’t take off right away.
Stas: Not right away. We had a party of local rappers, we signed up for our own and posted songs in the public. Everything was fine until Igor sent the link to Chase. I wake up and see a discussion on Twitter. That's shit! Then we are tough on all Russian rappers. (humiliated)!
Was this all intended to be a parody of Rick Ross from the very beginning?
Stas: When everything started happening, Igor called me at one in the morning and said: “We need names!” Of course, we chose the best ones. (rhymes with “squeaky”).
Have you tried to rip off your beard at concerts?
Stas: You tear off the dick, Igor glues it.
Do you spontaneously come up with all your interviews or do you prepare?
Igor: Everything is born impromptu. In Yekaterinburg, a speaker broke at a concert. We froze that I was her. (gouged) with his roar. Everyone laughed.
Were you surprised when this all grew from a one-day joke into a project that can give concerts?
Igor: Until now. (shocked) that it is not disposable.
Business projects - what are they, for example?
Igor: I don’t know if it’s worth telling. But if... (to brag), then, for example, the St. Petersburg guys and I did one theme in the spring, the revenue from it in two weeks amounted to about four million. But I won't say what it is. Although everything is within the limits of the law, of course. I am generally against illegal things; there have been cases when it didn’t turn out very well. If you have a good head on your shoulders, you can make money in this country without violence. But of course, it’s cool to sell on the block in a white T-shirt (laughs).
Igor, you worked in a bank for some time. When were you able to quit your job?
Igor: When the bank’s license was revoked (laughs). Otherwise I would never have left. It's so addictive. (kick). My brain atrophied then - I can’t do work from 9 to 8, and then write texts. You get into this rhythm, and it really interferes with creativity. And the bank was deprived of its license just in May last year, in June we started writing the album, and released it in August. Now I probably won’t work for anyone.
When they started promoting you at MDC, did it give you a strong impetus?
Igor: They put us on an avatar, we released the album, people liked it fine. The only thing is that after that the quality of our audience changed. There are more schoolchildren. And if we used to have rap for narrow circles, punchlines about rappers that only rappers understand, now it’s “Let’s better talk about it.” (vagina) rhyme” - in that vein.
Is expanding your audience a bad thing?
Stas: The audience there is insolvent.
Igor: It’s too dreary, but everything is getting there. At some point our story must end. Stas will probably be a rapper, and I will go into stand-up.
Have you ever thought about trying yourself in another area? Let's say, start a vlog on YouTube?
Igor: There were a lot of ideas, yes. We still have an idea for a program, something similar to “GGNews” by Snoop Dogg. But this takes time, and we love it very much. (miss opportunities), this is ours favorite activity. We were now planning a PR campaign for the album like filming a “detention,” and yesterday DJ Philchansky posted the same video on Twitter, only in a worse form. It all comes down to resources, and that’s the problem with shooting a video. We already had filming experience, but we couldn’t release it. And now there are also ideas, but in the capitals this is all easier to solve than in Samara. The first clip - either make it cool or not make it at all. Why did people like our tracks? Because it was quite high-quality southern meat, and even banter. We want the same thing with the clip - it should be at the near-western level.
But at some time there was a lot of funny rap - Bread, TP Barada. Did you like them?
Igor: Barada called us to Slovo. Syava on Versus. But I’m not interested in fighting against freaks, I need a typical Russian rapper. Vitya AK-47. It will be funny when we go on stage. I am two meters tall, he is clearly shorter. But Vitya will never agree to this. But I can’t listen to guys like Syava and Khleb, it’s not funny to me. We also represent the reach of our audience and do not want to promote anyone. MC Moonstar called me, but he performed twice and it’s not interesting to watch him anymore. Versus should still be considered first and foremost as a promotion tool.
Have you ever been invited to perform at corporate events?
Igor: Recently they offered to perform in Moscow at a hookah bar on the embankment. We agreed with them, but we probably won’t go. We sometimes perform in some unusual places. I remember in Volgograd we performed in the coolest club - where before slot machines were.
