From September 21, 2019, the Nizhny Novgorod State Circus will host performances of the Grand Show “Five Continents” performed by artists of the Gia Eradze Circus troupe.

Also participating in the show are tigers, lions, bears, horses, camels, and pythons.
The amazing number “Goldfish” is presented for the first time: it’s real sea bottom, with reefs, amazing marine life, into whose harmonious life a fishing ship bursts into, and with thunderclaps a real drama unfolds... Two Goldfish find themselves caught in a net, but continue to fight for life, will they be able to escape?...
A rare, incredibly complex and spectacular genre - air flight under the direction of Vilen Golovko will repeatedly make spectators freeze and exclaim “ah”: stunts without insurance at a height of more than 23 meters, free fall, a feeling of freedom, courage and high professionalism artists, and in the finale the hall explodes with applause!

The power couple “Chess” will win the hearts of true connoisseurs of circus art: the winners of the 10th television project “Minute of Glory: Anniversary Season” on Channel One, performers of record-breaking tricks, will appear in the images of chess Kings, whose subjects will play the most intriguing game on the battlefield. Also, the athletes represent a unique genre - group camel acrobatics: tricks are performed on a cart harnessed by parallel running camels.
The mind-blowing tricks of the acrobats on the track immerse you in the atmosphere of a hot night in the desert, where the imperious Scheherazade commands the faithful Bedouins... In 2019, the performers of the “Goldfish” acts and the acrobats on the track were awarded the Grand Prix of the International Festival of Circus Arts in Latina (Italy).
Having won the highest marks from the international jury, the acrobats of the equestrian attraction “Dzhigits - Apaches” in 2019 proudly represented our country at the most prestigious international circus festival in Monte Carlo, winning the Gold Award. Fragile, but so brave, the girls, under the leadership of Rustam Gazzaev, easily perform “male” tricks at breakneck speed, charging the audience with positivity and adrenaline!
The attraction with the participation of tigers, liligers, leopards and black panthers (12 predators in total!!!) under the direction of Honored Artists of Russia Natalia and Andrey Shirokalov - holds the record for the number of highest international awards - 10!!! Natalia is the winner of the Golden Crown of the Circus Princess festival, Andrey is the winner of the title of Trainer of the Year. From October 28 to December 3, 2017, in the arena of the Nizhny Novgorod State Circus, you can watch a grand show produced by the production center of the Honored Artist of Georgia, the famous artist Gia Eradze - BARONETIES.
BARONETIES is a very large-scale show with a huge number of people and animals.
During the show, tigers, leopards, black panthers, bears, horses, peacocks, pelicans, dogs, wolves, camels and many other four-legged, furry and feathered artists will perform their performances on stage. In addition to four-legged artists, horsemen, acrobats, clown jugglers and aerialists will perform their performances.
Among the rooms are:
A performance with bears, in the format of a gypsy wedding, in which the clubfooted ones will show unique tricks,
Dzhigitovka in the style of the American Wild West,
A unique attraction with a mixed group of predators by Natalia and Andrei Shirokalov, in which, for the first time, tigers, black panthers and leopards will appear in one arena - a total of 11 predators!

BARONETIES is an unprecedented project, the largest in terms of animal composition in Eurasia, all circus genres, titled artists - a world-class show. A new word in training is the intellectual education and training of animals, there are more than 100 of them in the show: tigers, leopards, black panthers, liligers, bears, horses, pelicans, parrots, foxes, deer, dogs, camels - Yekaterinburg has never seen such diversity. The acrobats of the equestrian attraction “Dzhigits - Apaches” (Gold) won the highest marks from the international jury VII International festival in Russia and the XVIII International Festival of Circus Arts in Italy) in January 2019, they proudly represented our country at the most prestigious international circus festival in Monte Carlo, winning the Gold Award as part of the delegation of the “Royal Circus” Gia Eradze. The history of the Nizhny Novgorod circus is rich in events; its origins go back to the distant past. In many literary sources You can find references to circus performers, old barkers, wandering acrobats, bear guides and other pioneers of circus art.
In the summer of 1879 in Nizhny Novgorod brothers Peter and Akim Nikitin arrived. They received permission to begin building the booth. And the credit for creating the first Russian professional, permanently operating circus, of course, belongs to the Nikitin brothers. Even then, the first Russian circus was on par with the largest foreign enterprises.
In 1813, at the Makaryevskaya Fair, in addition to the theater, a circus was opened annually, located in the Lubochny booth (“Hunters to the Horse List”): “Everyone came there! Some equestrian, the Italian Kiriane, distinguished herself there. The theater did not take away her income. Many managed to to look at both. And the arena (circus) was also full.” They also showed live bears, camels, monkeys, and buffoons and tightrope dancers danced.
In 1817, at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair there was a circus-booth, where magicians, dancers, safecrackers from Sergach, and rope dancers performed.
In 1879, the tradesman Pyotr Aleksandrovich Nikitin received 2000 square meters from the Nizhny Novgorod fair office for a place for a circus. fathom on Staro-Samakatnaya Square, where he staged a booth and gave circus performances.
Then, having saved up money, the Nikitins began building a wooden stationary circus in Nizhny Novgorod. And on July 28, 1883, the first performance took place.

“Yesterday, July 28th, the Nikitin brothers’ circus opened; its construction and decoration, taking into account the shortness of the season, are quite good; the circus is quite extensive, the seats are comfortable. As for the performers, they leave nothing to be desired for a fair circus the best: there are excellent riders and riders, excellently trained horses and good clowns.”
Later, due to the growth of Nizhny Novgorod, the need arose to expand the circus. And the Nikitins began building a stone stationary circus, which received its first spectators on July 26, 1886. This was the first stone building of the Nikitin circus in Russia - in Nizhny Novgorod - a room for spectators for 2000 people.

“A large, luxuriously arranged, stone circus of the Nikitin brothers.
... a big performance with a troupe of first-class artists and corps de ballet; the troupe includes up to 100 people and 80 horses. For the first time in Russia, the circus building is illuminated with electric incandescent lamps and large lanterns. Director - V. Sur, directors - br. Nikitin."
Since 1883, all the great artists worked in Nizhny Novgorod: Ciniselli, Truzzi, Solomonsky, Gamsakhurdia, Krasilnikov, Nikitins, etc., as well as many foreign circuses.
In 1923, the Nizhny Novgorod Nikitin Brothers Circus came under the jurisdiction of the Central Center and became the third state circus in the country. In 1925 the building burned down. On August 5, 1926, in the working-class district of Kanavino, a new circus was opened - one of the largest in the USSR.
A new important period in the history of the Nizhny Novgorod Circus was the start of operation on April 21, 1964 of a new stone building with 1,719 seats. From the very beginning, a lot of creative and organizational work, which was headed by I. Marinin
On May 27, 1984, the old (Gorky) circus held circus show, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Gorky-Nizhny Novgorod circus. Afterwards, the circus closed for reconstruction. The director of the anniversary performance, who closed it with his number “Elephants and Tigers”, was National artist RSFSR Mstislav Zapashny. M. Zapashny handed over the symbolic key to the new circus to the circus director I. P. Marinin with the words “We will open it soon.” For the last performance, the closing of the old circus, Gorky residents gathered with a special feeling of hope for a speedy meeting.
The reconstruction process was successfully launched, but its progress was interrupted by a change in the political situation in the country. For 23 years, Nizhny Novgorod residents were deprived of high-quality, highly artistic performances.
On September 1, 2007, Nizhny Novgorod became a Russian city in which the largest circus complex in Europe opened. Nizhny Novgorod residents have been waiting for this grandiose event for 23 years.
Today the Nizhny Novgorod Circus is a huge complex occupying an area of 30 thousand square meters. The circus has a large stable with 37 stalls, separate rooms for marine animals, predators, elephants, dogs, monkeys, a large modern veterinary hospital, a utility yard for vehicles, where animals can be unloaded under a roof in all weather conditions.
The Nizhny Novgorod Circus has a seating capacity of 2,000, with special seats for wheelchair users. Light, sound, film projection, laser projection, video surveillance system meet the most modern requirements. One of the most complex elements of the circus was the spectacular retractable staircase that connects the stage with the large arena. The Nizhny Novgorod State Circus takes into account everything that visitors may need to fully perceive the circus performance!
The Nizhny Novgorod Circus prepared a sparkling show “Jumbo” for the New Year. Exotic animals, unique tricks, a variety of circus genres, all the stars of the Russian circus in one arena - spectators will be able to see all this from December 23.
“The show was created specifically for the Nizhny Novgorod audience. It combined bright colors tropics and secrets of the east. Guests New Year's holiday will become the real Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden,” say the organizers.
Viewers are promised a parody show performed by artistic and talented chimpanzees. It has no analogues in the world, and will not leave the most demanding viewer indifferent.

Exotic animals are the basis of the New Year's Show "JUMBO". For example, Santa Claus's New Year's assistants will be llamas, noses and porcupines. And the most striking representative of Africa will be the hippopotamus. He will appear at the Nizhny Novgorod Circus arena for the first time! Despite her impressive size and wild appetite, Juliana (that’s the name of the hippopotamus) is shy and good-natured. For her speed of movement, she received the nickname Fly, and she is also a real artist: she performs difficult tricks and loves well-deserved applause.
