The researchers believe that collecting objective scientific data about the potential last moments life is quite possible. Over the course of four years, they analyzed more than 2,000 patients who experienced cardiac arrest, that is, official clinical death.

Of this group of patients, doctors were able to bring 16% back to life. Dr. Parnia and his colleagues interviewed a third of these patients—101 people. "Our goal is to first understand what people feel at the time of death," says Dr. Parnia. "And then prove that what patients say they see and hear at the moment of death is truly an awareness of reality."

Seven Shades of Death

Mr. A is not the only patient who has had flashbacks to his death. Almost 50% of study participants could remember something. But unlike Mr. A and another woman, whose account of being outside her own body could not be objectively proven, the experiences of the other patients did not seem to be tied to actual events that took place at the time of their death.

Their stories were more like dreams or hallucinations, which Dr. Parnia and his colleagues divided into seven main scenarios. "Most of them did not correspond to what used to be called 'near-death' experiences," says Parnia. "It appears that there is much more to the psychological experience of death than we have realized in the past."

A low soul is incapable of comprehending the Subtle World and working in it and therefore falls asleep. Similarly, for example, in our world a bear falls asleep for the winter and is not capable of actively expressing itself in forest conditions in winter. And other animals can survive well in the cold season.

That is, the activity of the soul on the Subtle Plane depends on the degree of its development and the ability to actively participate in its life. Such a soul can clear space of unnecessary elements and perform some primitive work. Therefore, low souls with regard to their appearance can be divided into two types.

The soul that falls asleep, as a rule, loses its human appearance quite quickly, because it is not yet adapted to anything, much less capable of maintaining its appearance in the desired form.

The same low soul, which has already had several incarnations and acquired the rudiments of primary human qualities, is able to maintain its shape in the form of a human body for up to six months or a year, and then, forgetting about its previous appearance, it begins to adapt to anything.

Low souls do not yet possess any stable qualities or knowledge, therefore their idea of themselves and the world around them can often change. Since souls have developed imitation, at first they will mold themselves according to what they see nearby, or what is preserved in their memory from past lives.

A young soul does not have a permanent concept, therefore its form can take on a variety of external signs: after several years of being on the Subtle Plane, the soul can resemble an octopus, cuttlefish, oval, ball, any figure, etc. It is able to adapt to what sees. So the appearance of young souls who have not entered hibernation can change constantly throughout their stay on the Subtle Plane.

All low souls are isolated from the middle and high ones. All of them are located in certain artificial worlds at their Levels. And souls of the same Level cannot mix into lower or higher planes, or rather, it will not work out for them purely according to physical laws. The soul of average development is already capable of holding general shape the human body throughout its entire stay in the Subtle World. Many people imagine that after clinical death a person enters a tunnel leading to the light, where he is greeted by relatives or luminous beings who tell him whether he is ready to move on or send him back to awaken in this life.

These specific near-death scenarios have been reported many times, but this by no means means that this happens to every person who dies. However, there are common feelings that most, or at least a large percentage of people who have been able to report it, experience.

Most people who have had a near-death experience are not convinced that it actually happened to them, and at the same time, it served as evidence for them of the existence of life after death.
