We create original paintings from autumn leaves

Error - ancient art Japan. The available master classes allow you to quickly master this technique, and you will be able to create beautiful paintings from flowers.

What is an error?

This word came to us from Japan, where this art form first originated more than six hundred years ago. Oshibana is called flat floristry. Pressed natural materials are used as the main material. It can be:
  • dried flowers;
  • dried leaves;
  • grass;
  • tree branches;
  • seeds;
  • fruit;
  • Poplar fluff;
  • sometimes - dried fruits and vegetables.
This natural material is dried by placing a weight on top. First, paper is placed on a sheet of plywood, and straightened plants are placed on it. Then, paper is placed on top again, and plywood is placed on it. On which you need to put a weight and dry the herbarium for a week.

Replace the paper with fresh paper daily to allow the plants to dry out. And remove the damp ones.

When the natural material is dry, iron it through a double layer of gauze. The prepared materials are glued to thick fabric or paper.

A distinctive feature of oshibana is that plant materials practically retain their original color and do not fade. This is achieved by pumping out the air between the work and the glass covering it. In such a vacuum, the material is better preserved. Now you can also buy various devices in the form of mini-pumps from us to apply this technique and make your work durable.

You can first come up with a topic for your work, select material for it, or create a composition from what you already have. Once you have prepared everything you need, you can begin.

Oshibana - master class on painting with flowers

To create such a picturesque picture, you will need:
  • dried flowers pansies;
  • dried leaves;
  • PVA glue;
  • tassels;
  • tweezers;
  • sheet of cardboard;
  • White paper.
If you have white cardboard, leave it as is; if it is gray, then you need to glue a sheet of white paper on top. Draw on it the features of the future landscape using a simple pencil.

Very carefully, using tweezers and a thin brush, you will transfer the pansies coated with glue to the prepared place. Blot excess glue with a napkin.

IN in this case, flowers occupy the corner part of the space. Glue the larger ones closer to the corner, followed by smaller flowers. Decorate them with thin leaves or under dried grass.

In another part of the composition there is a butterfly. Make her wings from reddish aspen leaves, and draw her body with black gouache. Using the same composition, make the edging for the wings.

Once the glue has dried, you can frame the picture. If you want, you can first coat it with varnish.

Using the oshibana technique you can create not only paintings, but also decorations. See how the following is formed.

How to make a flower decoration with your own hands - technique

Here's what you'll use for this:
  • epoxy resin;
  • dried plant;
  • accessories.
Follow these steps:
  1. You can use a stencil or take a medallion blank into which you will pour resin. First, prepare this substance as written in the instructions for this material.
  2. If you are using a stencil, then place it on a flat, clean surface, covering it with a file on top. Then you can pour epoxy resin here in small portions and distribute it with a toothpick. Now it is very important to prevent dust and dirt from getting on the wet surface. To do this, cover it with a lid on top.
  3. When the resin dries a little, put the prepared dried flower in it and fill it with resin on top. Then this semi-finished product must also be covered with a lid to prevent dust from entering.
  4. When the medallion is dry but still pliable, make a hole at the top with an awl to insert the fittings here. Attach a chain to it to wear this beauty around your neck.

If you decide to get serious about creating jewelry from flowers and resin, then you can buy special molds, which will make the work easier.

But let's return to the classic mistake. Watch master classes that will help beginners master interesting art Japanese masters.

Paintings from oshibana flowers: easy master classes for beginners

It is not necessary to use only flowers and leaves to create canvases. These decorative elements can be used to decorate, for example, photographs loved one and give him such an original portrait.

To carry out the work, you need to prepare the following materials:

  • photograph of a person;
  • colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • dried flowers and leaves;
  • tinsel;
  • colored pencils or paints;
  • sheet of cardboard;
  • frame.
Making master class:
  1. If you want to dress the heroine of the portrait at your own discretion, for example, so that the dress is antique, then you will need to cut it out of paper of the desired color. But first draw its outlines.
  2. On top part Glue the portrait to the picture, and below - the dress. Arrange dried small flowers in a bouquet, glue its elements so that the heroine of the composition holds this beauty.
  3. Oshibana allows you to create outfit details, for example, this hat. It consists of one large leaf, small flowers and stems. You can decorate your headdress with a piece of fur or feathers.
  4. You can also create a beautiful skirt from flowers. You can take tulips for this. Make a tinsel trim. Glue it on the panel various decorations from flowers or paper.

Another beauty created using the oshibana technique can be achieved by using flowers.

  1. To do this job, you will need to first dry iris petals, pansies, and various other small flowers. Draw the outlines of the future beauty on cardboard with a simple pencil.
  2. Taking the iris leaves, glue them to the appropriate place. You can also cut out the back for the top of the dress from iris. The sleeves are created from lighter petals, you can even use roses.
  3. Make a head decoration from pansies. Place smaller flowers in the girl's hands to make a bouquet. You can use the same composition idea as in the photograph. Where the girl seems to be looking in the mirror, so she is illuminated from two angles.

You can also create a magical fairy using the oshibana technique. She is almost entirely made of flowers, even her butterfly. Draw the facial features with a colored pencil, and also use a brown pencil to draw the body of the insect.

With your children, collect various leaves in the fall so that in winter you can make beautiful compositions from them. From large ones you will make picturesque hills, and small ones will turn into leaves of various trees. In the foreground you can glue small flowers, which will become a picturesque clearing.

If you have many flowers, then dry them in the shade on a flat surface as described at the beginning of the article. See how they should turn out.

As you can see, this plant material should retain its colors. Now you can make, for example, a vase of flowers. This craft is perfect for beginners.

Create the vase itself from colored paper. Glue the flowers on top so that they form a bouquet and the cardboard is almost not visible through them.

The art of oshibana is the use of other materials. For example, you can take birch bark, remove the top layer from it and apply it. Look how beautiful the roofs of the houses will be.

If you want to make winter compositions, then the roof will look snow-covered if you use birch bark. But you can also create autumn landscape from these materials. In this case, large leaves will become the outlines of bushes, and small ones will show off on the trees.

Painting made from natural materials

At first glance, it is difficult to guess what this picture was created from. Look at exactly what natural materials were used to create the work using the oshibana technique. Find out what paints for work can be obtained from certain plants:
  1. White - from the leaves of thin corn cobs.
  2. Gray - from silver poplar leaves.
  3. Light gray - from cineraria.
  4. Dark gray - from sedge leaves that lay on the ground and darkened.
  5. Yellow - from the leaves of young willow or autumn leaves of various trees.
  6. Red - from hazel leaves.
  7. Red - from the autumn leaves of maple, viburnum or other trees and shrubs.
  8. Brown - from oak leaves.
  9. Green - from dried currant leaves.
  10. Blue are delphinium petals.
  11. Sea water can be created in a painting if you use the leaves of a young silver willow, and river water can be created from poplar leaves.

To obtain a dark brown color, scrape the pulp from the banana skin and dry the remaining skin completely.

But what auxiliary materials and equipment will be needed to create a picturesque composition of leaves. This:
  • PVA glue, but not stationery glue, but for working with wood;
  • cardboard;
  • tweezers;
  • scalpel;
  • brush;
  • scissors.

Using a thin pencil, outline the outline of the future painting on the cardboard. Draw a horizon line, indicate where the house, mountain, tree will be located.

Now start filling in the background and largest objects with plant material first. Take the leaves with tweezers, coat one side with glue and apply to the desired place.

Once you have completed this part of the work, move on to more small elements. Also glue them to the designated place. If you need to create the smallest details, such as highlights, shadows, then cut the leaves desired color scissors and glue them.

See if everything is okay? Maybe I need to add more somewhere plant material. Do it.

When the painting from natural materials is completely created, put it under a press overnight. When it's dry, it's time to frame it in a glass frame. It will prevent dust from settling on the work and will make the material more durable.

Floral painting - technique

Trees and shrubs will bloom in spring. Don't miss this time. Hurry up to collect fallen flowers to use them in paintings.

Look how wonderful the cherry blossoms look. It will be enough just to dry them and you can create such a floral composition using the oshibana technique. Take more cardboard in advance dark color, for example, blue. Then the white petals will be clearly visible against this background.

You will make buds that have not yet opened from petals, which need to be cut to the shape of a given part of the plant, or take real buds.

If you have an apricot or apple tree that is blooming pink flowers, then use this natural material. The result is a delicate picture that will decorate any room. You can make a bird out of feathers and glue it to a branch.

You can take pelargonium flowers, which retain their original color for a long time. But dry them as quickly as possible to avoid losing their vibrant color.

Mistake involves the use of a variety of natural materials. Look what interesting job it will work if you apply them.

DIY painting “Mill” made from natural materials

To get this composition, you need to take:
  • tweezers;
  • scissors;
  • medical syringe without a needle;
  • sharp knives, like a scalpel;
  • gouache;
  • watermelon seeds;
  • pieces of apple and cherry bark;
  • bamboo sticks for frame;
  • small pebbles, sea sand, crushed stone;
  • thin tree branches;
  • fine vegetable mesh.
First you need to print out the outline of the mill on a piece of paper.

Mix blue gouache and glue in a ratio of 1:10 and apply this solution with a sponge to the base. Use burlap as a base, gluing it to cardboard.

Glue moss onto the walls of the mill using PVA.

Make the mill blades from thin viburnum branches. To do this, draw glue into a medical syringe without a needle, squeeze this substance onto the place marked on the canvas and attach the branches.

Cut the watermelon seeds in half crosswise to reveal their white inner part. These “bricks” will help create the front wall of the mill. Make this masonry by arranging the natural material in a checkerboard pattern.

And you will create a side wall from seeds, the untouched part of which must be placed towards the audience. In this case, the cut rib will be on the canvas.

Transform the vegetable net into a fishing net, as if it had been hung to dry in the sun.

Draw clouds with white gouache or glue poplar fluff.

The dried work can be framed using bamboo stems or other natural materials.

That's what it is - an error that allows you to make amazing paintings from flowers and other natural materials. It is interesting to watch the creation of such works

We invite you to see how a painting is created using the oshibana technique.

Samples of work and useful tips await you in the second story.

Flower toys

From beautiful plants, florists came up with the idea of creating not only bouquets, but also these adorable toys. To present such original gift, see how to make flower figurines yourself, and quickly start a pleasant and exciting activity.

Start simple. For example, make this funny snail.

For needlework you need the following:
  • floral sponge piaflora - 3 bricks;
  • bush yellow and green chrysanthemums, 4-5 branches of each color;
  • large leaves of monstera, palm or others;
  • round dish or plate;
  • floral fixative or straws, sticks;
  • for the face: 2 buttons or beads, thread, paper, wire.

Before making such figurines from flowers, you need to decorate the plate. In this case, we spread the leaves on it.

Soak the piaflora bricks in water, letting them dry without using your hands. Then we cut out several parts from it. For the job, we cut off the 2 upper corners of the brick, from the second we cut out the rounded part for the back and the head of the toy from flowers.

From the third brick we create her neck. Using a floral fixative or a straw, we fastened the sticks together as shown in the photo.

Now you need to pick off or trim the flowers so that they remain with a short stem 2 cm long.

Starting from the bottom of the snail’s “house,” we line it with green chrysanthemums. We decorate the second part with yellow, from the top of the head.

Flowers should be placed as close to each other as possible so that the piaflora is not visible. If small gaps nevertheless form, we close them with smaller buds.

After the entire body of the flower figurine is decorated, we take 2 yellow chrysanthemums, trim its petioles so that the length remains 4 cm, and put these horns in their places.

To make the snail's face, poke one end of the wire through a hole in the button, remove it from the other, and poke the sponge in the appropriate places to attach the first and then the second eye in place. Cut out a mouth from red paper and glue it on.

Now you can give such a beautiful and original gift of fresh flowers.

You understand the principle of this floral idea, so now you can create other toys from flowers. You will need almost the same materials. If you have larger flowers, the figure will turn out fluffier.

It is important to cut out the details of his body from piaflor bricks so that they are proportional, and then fasten them together using pins. Wooden skewers, pencil. To do this, these elements need to be cut to a length of 5-8 cm. Stick one end into one part, and the other into the other. Thus, you will fasten the 2 parts of the animal’s body.

For such a flower toy, first cut out the following parts from water-soaked floral sponge bricks for the body, nose, and head. Two for legs, paws, ears.

To ensure that the bear rests securely on the base, cut out sponges to the shape of the dish. To do this, cut the piaflora brick into 2 narrow pieces, place them side by side, and place a dish on top. Press it on the lips to get an outline. Cut along it. Place the piaflor on the dishes, and attach the parts of the body and legs on top, and on this base - the rest of his body.

Start decorating the base by attaching small green chrysanthemums to the face. Then use 3 of these flowers instead of toes, and one large one at a time to decorate the foot and ears of the flower toy.

Decorate the remaining areas of the animal’s body with large chrysanthemums. Then you will get a fluffy bear. Tie a light bow around his neck, border the dish with leaves, and drape the piaflora on it with small flowers, for example, gypsophila. This is such a wonderful bear made from flowers.

Living three-dimensional paintings

If you want to create long-lasting beauty that will delight you for many years, then make a picture from unpretentious house plants.

To create this little child you will need:

  • succulents;
  • a wooden box with a plywood bottom or 4 blocks and a sheet of fiberboard;
  • picture frame;
  • plastic mesh;
  • the soil;
  • scissors;
  • shoulder blade;
  • wand;
  • dye;
  • silicone gun;
  • hammer;
  • nails;
  • brush.

Many adult houseplants produce “babies”. It is often a pity to throw them away, so use these small and unpretentious houseplants to create an original painting.

Look at the condition they are in; if there are dry leaves, remove them.

If you do not have a box that is the right size for the frame, then saw off 4 pieces of wood and knock them down into a rectangle shape.

Cut a piece of construction mesh to the same dimensions and attach it to the furniture bars.

Glue the picture frame to the same side of the bars using a silicone gun. Now turn the work over so that the frame is at the bottom. Nail a sheet of plywood to the bars. To prevent it from getting wet, it is better to first glue the mesh to it, and only then attach it to the base.

Paint the picture frame with varnish and let it dry.

Now pour soil into the tray through the mesh and water it well.

Then plant succulents to create a living picture.

Leave your creation horizontally for 2 weeks to allow the plants to take root. You can then place the painting vertically or hang it on the wall.

You can create not only living pictures, but also beautiful compositions from dried flowers. Before you begin such work, find out how they need to be prepared.

How to make dried flowers

They can be bought or prepared from spring to autumn, collected in the forest or at the dacha. Donated bouquets should also not be thrown away when they begin to fade, because they make excellent material for creative handicrafts.

Flowers for compositions should be collected on a dry day in the late morning, when the dew has dried. Use fresh, beautiful, undamaged plants.

When choosing a color scheme, pay attention to the fact that when dried, red flowers become darker, while light ones turn yellow. But the blue, pink, lilac, and orange colors of plants are perfectly preserved when properly dried.

The easiest way is to air dry flowers, but always in a dark place. Under the rays of the sun they will simply lose their beautiful color. Large plants are laid out on paper in one layer. Do the same with individual elements if, for example, you only need buds, leaves or flowers.

Medium-sized plants are tied into small bunches, turned upside down with flowers, and hung several at a time on a rope or stick. The dark room should be warm, dry and have air flow.

If you need to get dried flowers quickly, then you can use a microwave oven. The main thing here is to bring the plants to the desired condition without drying them out. Therefore, turn on the oven on low power for a few seconds. Turn it off, see what condition they are in, if necessary, dry them further, also by turning on the microwave oven for a few seconds, setting it to low power.

If you want the plant to retain its natural color for a long time, dry it in sand for 3-4 weeks. Unlike air-dried flowers, these flowers will be less brittle.

You can also use silica gel, which quickly absorbs moisture. Using this method, only the inflorescences are dried.

Arrangements of dried flowers

After you have been able to buy dried flowers or have made this material for needlework yourself, it’s time to start amazing creativity.

Bouquets of dried flowers are in perfect harmony with stones. Therefore, this material was used in this work. Here full list necessary:

  • dried flowers: amaranth and yellow craspedia;
  • oblong (rectangular or oval) dish;
  • scissors;
  • large and small pebbles.
Trim the bare stems and place the flowers on the container on which they will be placed. See if they look good and if the stems need to be trimmed further.

Place dried flowers on a dish, press them down with large pebbles, and sprinkle small ones on top.

Trim 3 branches of craspedia a little, place it at the top of the composition. For another 3-4, cut the cuttings larger. Stick these plants into the pebbles.

The work is finished, now you can admire to your heart’s content what a wonderful composition of flowers and stones you have created.

Dried plant painting

like this interesting composition you can also create it yourself. Even in winter it will remind you of a colorful summer. For needlework prepare:
  • A4 paper;
  • cardboard;
  • masking tape;
  • pistachio shells;
  • PVA glue;
  • toilet paper;
  • hot glue gun;
  • acrylic paints.
Cover the cardboard with white paper, attach tape around the perimeter, along the edges so that they are even.

You can tint the background a little this way: crumble the leads of colored pencils with a knife, and then rub the resulting colored powder onto the sheet with a cotton pad.

Here's how to make a picture frame, take...toilet paper. Unwind a strip from it, coat it with PVA, and twist it into a rope. Then place the cardboard along the edges, and when the glue dries, paint the resulting frame.

Here's how to make pistachio flowers. Cut out a circle from not very thick cardboard. Using a glue gun, glue the nut shells to it so that each one touches the center and edge of the circle.

Now take dried flowers, place them in one corner of the picture, decorate it with elements of pistachios and greenery. The painting is ready from scrap materials.

How to make earrings, pendants

Very interesting ideas bestow dried flowers in combination with epoxy resin. As a result, these are the amazing designer jewelry you will get.

For such work you will need accuracy, patience, and also:

  • dried flowers (here used: speedwell, heather, forget-me-nots);
  • epoxy resin;
  • files;
  • pencil;
  • paper;
  • scissors;
  • syringe;
  • earring earrings;
  • fine sandpaper.
Mix the resin according to the instructions and leave for 2-3 hours so that the mass becomes more viscous.

At this time, place small dried flowers on a sheet of paper, outline them, giving them a teardrop shape.

Cut out the resulting stencils.

Next, you need to find a perfectly flat surface; check this indicator with a building level. Place the cut out stencils on it and the files on top.

After the resin has infused, pour it from a syringe onto the workpieces in a layer 2-3 mm thick. If the outline is blurred, correct it with a toothpick. Let the epoxy resin dry a little for 20-30 minutes, then straighten the edging again using a toothpick.

To prevent dust particles from sticking to the workpieces, cover them immediately after pouring. In this case, it is better to isolate each separately.

Leave the blanks to dry for a day, then separate them from the files and sand their edges with a nail file or fine sandpaper. Attach dried flowers to the transparent elements. Prepare a new portion of resin in advance, after it has stood for 0.5-1 hours, pour a small layer of dried flowers over the blanks.

Again, give them a day to dry under cover. Turn the blanks over and fill them with epoxy resin (a small layer). After it is completely dry, turn the products over and fill the front surface.

After a day, make a hole in their upper part with a thin drill and thread it into each hook. Here's how to make your own earrings. If you want to make a pendant, thread a chain ring through the hole.

Here's how dry and fresh flowers will help you look beautiful, make unforgettable gifts and decorate your home.

And, as usual, at the end of the article we invite you to watch interesting videos that clearly show the stages of work. From this you will learn how to make toys from flowers:

Painting “Autumn Girl”

Necessary materials

  • Fiberboard measuring 50x40 centimeters;
  • PVA glue;
  • Acrylic varnish (best matte);
  • Acrylic paints (in our example we used gold, white, bronze);
  • Yellow watercolor paint;
  • Wide brush;
  • Decorative materials for decorating the canvas: ears of wheat, autumn leaves, twigs, acorns, herbs, rowan or viburnum berries, etc.

Step-by-step instruction

Helpful advice: Before making a picture of autumn leaves, you need to dry them. To do this, place a few leaves between the pages of the book and leave them there for several days. This way they will dry faster and remain perfectly smooth.

  1. Use a fiberboard sheet as a base. Make the front side of the painting on its rough side.
  2. Mix dry glue with water to form a thick mass that will be easy to attach to. necessary materials. The solution can also be prepared in this way: mix dry glue with flour in a ratio of 6 to 3 and add a little PVA glue.
  3. When the mixture reaches the viscous consistency we need, mix everything well and apply to the frame.
  4. Generously coat the canvas with PVA glue along the entire perimeter of the frame. Let it dry a little. Then apply the pre-prepared mass on top (the layer thickness should be approximately 1 centimeter).
  5. Immediately place ears of wheat on top of it and sprinkle with millet. Press them in as tightly as possible, but so that they remain on the surface.
  6. Then lift the painting and gently shake off any excess grain.
  7. After half an hour, mix PVA glue and acrylic varnish (in a ratio of 1 to 1), cover the ears and millet with the resulting mixture. Immediately after application, the color of the composition will be white, but after drying it will turn transparent.
  8. After the glue and varnish are completely dry, paint the frame with gold paint. To do this, use a wide brush. Next, paint the spikelets with bronze paint.
  9. Pour some white acrylic paint into a small container and add water. This way the paint will go on more evenly.
  10. Also paint the surface of the fiberboard. Do this very carefully so as not to touch the frame. Your fiberboard sheet will look like a canvas.
  11. Once the paint has dried a little, begin applying the background.
  12. Make all strokes smooth. Paint the middle, closer to the top, with white paint.
  13. Next, start darkening the background. The middle should be slightly lighter than the main tone of the canvas. The closer you move to the edges (the frame of the painting), the darker the base color. To do this, after coloring the center, pour in white paint a little golden.
  14. Then add a little yellow tone. Take yellow watercolor paint, first lightly mixing it with white so that it is not too bright, and paint over it a little White background. Set the workpiece aside until completely dry.
  15. For decoration in our example, we used various autumn leaves, thin birch branches and various dry herbs. You may also need rowan berries, some acorns and flowers.
  16. Take the already dried painting blank and start decorating it. Draw a silhouette of a girl on a landscape sheet. If you don't know how to draw, you can find finished sample. Cut it along the outline.
  17. Next, cut off the skirt from the outline and paint the upper part of the female silhouette in gold. You can use the same paint that was used to paint the base. Cut several small strips from the remaining paper. These will be eyelashes.
  18. Glue the top part of the workpiece onto the canvas. Then form a wreath of grass, leaves and rowan berries on the girl’s head. To fix it on the canvas, mix PVA glue and acrylic paint in a 1:1 ratio. You will use this mixture to attach other parts in the future.
  19. Using the previously prepared layout, make a girl’s skirt from leaves. Glue them in rows, starting from the hem and going up.
  20. Attach several branches with leaves near the girl’s hands. You can also use additional decorative elements.
  21. Glue branches and leaves on both sides of the girl, laying them out in the shape of a tree. Glue them from the top level, gradually moving down.
  22. In the lower left corner of the picture, glue several leaves, blades of grass, small flowers and acorns there.
  23. If there is more left in the picture free place, you can fill it in the same way or simply paint it with gold paint.
  24. After finishing the work, paint the entire picture with a mixture of varnish and glue. This will make it more voluminous and shiny.

Autumn crafts and paintings look very beautiful and original. It’s especially fun to create them with little children. The work is, of course, painstaking, but in the end you will get a unique piece of jewelry that you can give to your family or, for example, use to decorate your interior.

Instructions

The main task is to collect leaves, flowers, twigs and herbs. This material is collected in spring, summer and autumn. This can be done everywhere - in courtyards, in front gardens, you don’t need to limit yourself to fields and forests.

The collected plants must be dried. The best option for this purpose - old magazines or reference books, but their paper should not be glossy, but only porous and soft. The book must be well dried. The collected material is placed between the sheets, and at least six sheets must be left between the bookmarks. Something heavy, such as a brick or iron, is placed on a closed magazine or book.

When the natural material is ready, you can begin to design the picture. Any postcard, painting or photograph that depicts flowers or a landscape is selected for the sample. You can create a sketch of the future painting yourself. In any case, there must be a sketch.

Gathering on the seashore - favorite hobby kids. And at the end of the holiday, these “trophies” lie in some distant closet. You can decorate a photo frame with shells or make them out of panel, which will decorate the house and remind you of a happy holiday.

You will need

  • - flat board, chipboard or plywood;
  • - shells;
  • - PVA glue;
  • - sandpaper;
  • - jigsaw;
  • - stain.

Instructions

Complete the sketch panel from shells. You don't have to draw by hand; you can find a suitable digital image or scan a postcard. In a programme Adobe Photoshop outline the image. When choosing a design, pay attention to the fact that there should be as few small details as possible, because shells themselves are a very beautiful material. In addition, they have their own specific texture, which must be taken into account when creating a sketch. Print the image after adjusting it to size.

Prepare the base. Take a fairly thick board or plywood. For example, a wooden cutting board works well. The hole for the nail in it can be removed by gluing a wooden plug there. Sand an ordinary board with sandpaper to ensure a smooth surface. If the shells remain light, it is better to make the background darker for contrast. To do this use dark color stains. If necessary, the stain can be replaced with a dark solution of potassium permanganate, which gives shades from deep red-brown to light brown.

Draw your drawing on the board. To do this, you should use carbon paper. You can skip the sketching stage and try to immediately create a composition on the board.

If the shells need to be painted, do so before gluing them to the board. For painting shells you can use bright acrylic paints. Choose a color depending on the nature of the image.

Helpful advice

It is better to glue material such as shells using PVA glue, although any other glue can be used, for example hot glue or universal glue. You can also complement the panel with other materials other than shells. For example, beads, beads, cereals or seeds of exotic plants, from which spots on the petals or stamens of flowers can be made.

Preparation of materials

The background of paintings made from natural materials is done with gouache or ordinary watercolor paints. Next, natural ingredients are taken into the work, such as flowers, blades of grass, berries, stems, stones, branches, shells, bark, corn, feathers, beans, seeds, poppy seeds, peas, cereals, nuts, acorns, sunflower seeds, moss, seeds, eggs or nut shells, corals, fish scales, straw, sand and other things created by nature.

Some materials should be dried, such as stems, flowers, blades of grass. There are several nuances when preparing raw materials. Sometimes it is important to preserve the color, texture and shape of plants when drying. Therefore, various technologies are used to obtain the desired result.

To dry leaves, flowers, seeds, grass and fluff, you need a wardrobe folder, which is placed under a press. This is necessary to obtain a flat shape of materials. Picking flowers also has its own subtleties. So, than younger flower, the more juicy color it has. Pelargoniums, dahlias, autumn foliage, peonies and asters retain their color for a long time. And flowers such as pansies, nasturtiums or lilies quickly lose their natural color. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to dry such materials as quickly as possible.

Glass, cardboard, leather, fabric, paper, metal are suitable as the basis for a future painting. The soft fabric is usually attached to a hard surface.

To create a three-dimensional background, putty, wax, dry mixtures and plaster are used. Sometimes double-sided tape is used.

Collages are created in three styles: vegetative, decorative and landscape. The first style is aimed at conveying the beauty of plants. It is important to point out the structure of the stems and blades of grass, the grace of the petals, the color scheme, and the patterns of veins.

Decorative style does not limit the imagination of the master. Intricate shapes, rich colors and unique ways of presenting material are appropriate. To enhance the artistic effect, such paintings are placed in frames.

Landscape style brings with it the beauty of nature. It is used to convey the sea, sunset, seasons, mountains and forest.

Work process

First you need to decide what will be depicted in the picture. Then you should prepare the necessary materials. A sketch of the future painting is drawn on cardboard or some other basis. After this, the materials are laid out on top of the drawing. This helps to think about shape, texture and color. This is followed by gluing natural materials to the base.

This activity can act as therapy during stressful situations. This will help calm your nerves, evoke joyful emotions, and give you energy.

Using natural materials in crafts and fine arts is gaining more and more popularity every year. Pressed floristry (oshibana) is an ancient Japanese technique for creating paintings from dried flowers. Using various dried plants, decorators create unique pictures and scenes, and the entire process occurs without the use of any paints.

To create an image from dried flowers, no special equipment is required. In fact, all working raw materials can be collected in a field, a nearby park, forest, or grown on a windowsill. If you use your imagination, you can find materials anywhere: by drying the peel of a banana or eggplant, opening tea bags with hibiscus or other tea, as well as drying the peel of a tangerine, cucumber, or removing it from an onion.

Leaves, flowers, fluff, peel and other materials are dried different ways, including standard press drying, vacuum drying and iron drying. Usually, after treatment, plants lose their natural color and turn pale or darken several shades. Materials such as banana turn dark brown after drying, so before starting work you need to roughly imagine what result the author wants to achieve, and then select plants of the desired color scheme.
After selecting materials, dried plants are attached to a fabric or paper canvas, forming a unique composition.
As a clear example, we recommend following the process of creating the painting “Lady with a Bouquet”, performed using the oshibana technique.

1. When starting work, in addition to dry materials, you need to prepare the following tools:
Colorless glue (PVA can be used);
Small scissors;
Tweezers;
Sharp object;
Glue gun (for gluing large plants);
White cardboard (colored if necessary)

2. To create a picture you need the following materials:
Dried rose or bell petals;
Violet petals;
Any yellow leaves;
Dry banana peel;
Dry corn silk (in other words, corn hair);
Other decoration materials to have on hand.

3. Before starting work, you should make a small sketch of the future painting on paper;

4. Apply several rose petals to the finished sketch. We place the leaves next to each other so that the result is a skirt that at least slightly repeats the drawn silhouette;

5. Apply glue to the entire length of the skirt and use tweezers to glue the petals;

6. Moving on to the sleeves. We cut them out from petals of a lighter shade and glue them in the same way. You can first draw sleeves on the petals and then cut them out. The result should look like this.

7. We design the décolleté area. Cut out a bust of the required shape from a banana peel and glue it onto the drawing;

9. Cut out hands from a yellow sheet and glue them to the lady;

10. We make a face out of small flower particles and use a gun to apply a drop of glue to the head area. We fix the bunch of corn hair, holding it with a sharp object for a while so that the hair sticks well. Immediately decorate with dry violet;
