Preobrazhensky was in a good mood this morning. Today it is becoming known that Lenochka is a student. On the one hand, it was certainly a pity to part with a qualified secretary.
There was (no) where to get another one yet, besides, he knew that he (didn’t) love the new one at first sight.
“The bouquet should be (not) rich, but beautiful,” Preobrazhensky noted dryly.
He (finally) found what he was looking for: (n_)large bright (scarlet) hidden in the corner behind the backs of their royal neighbors, fresh Moscow region roses.
The general picked up the basket of roses and, feeling the pleasant heaviness, shook it lightly. The tight buds, as if rolled up from virgin fabric, lay down in a wanton fan and sprinkled water on the sidewalk.
- It won't cost you very much! - The saleswoman said (in)credulously.
– You girl are extremely (n_) polite! – Preobrazhensky said sternly, withdrawing the money.
Satisfied, he moved on. After waiting out the stream of frantically rushing cars, Preobrazhensky crossed the street again and looked at his watch and gasped. (N_) wasting more than (N_) minutes, he headed towards the old mansion.

Lenochka went at the (n_) dawn to look at the posted lists and is now waiting for him in her _range_re_. She always comes on time.

The general looked at the flowers with pleasure and opened the door to the waiting room.

2. Test

Open the brackets and insert the missing letters where necessary.
Preobrazhensky's position was (un)enviable. The roses were obviously (n_) (to) something. However, Lenochka (n_) shed a (n_) tear while she was telling him that she (n_) got (half) the ball. She counted on a (semi) pass (this happens in the Faculty of Philology and Mechanics and Mathematics, and in many other faculties), but her calculations did not come true. Preobrazhensky hinted at an appeal, but he had to appeal to (n_)to whom and (n_) about what. The general put the roses in the corner, closed the waiting room door and announced to everyone in the department that there was no reason to have fun, the birthday cake should be removed, and the waiting room should be entered. The girl has (no) place to hide to survive (bad) luck. (In)otherwise, there was (no)one to hide the failure. The department was friendly and everyone sympathized with their junior colleagues. Friends reacted (differently). The grown-up adulterer, listening to someone and muttering (something) incoherently, immediately went to console his student. Prilutsky, tapping the toe of his polished shoe to a shine, suddenly began whistling something angry, and then he turned around and said a word and walked away in an unknown direction. All these days he was running around like crazy, getting the (necessary) information for the next investigation. He (n_) had (n_) minutes left to think about something other than the assigned business.

“A wonderful worker, but what a cracker!

So (not) at all (in) a comradely way,” Preobrazhensky thought (in) his heart.

Some kind of eternally gloomy, angry. (L. Rubinstein) Sighing, he returned to his room. It was necessary to go to the Adultery and (to) convince the girl that there was (no) reason to be upset because of (bad) luck, (c) she had her whole life ahead of her.
(B)by the way, (n_)for whom it is (n_)secret that such advice has helped (n_)whom and (n_)ever else. In the waiting room, Lenochka mechanically shuffled some papers and told Prelyubodeev that she was a complete (n_) thing, a brainless doll, (n_) what (n_)
capable person
. The resignation letter was on the table.

“This is a very (ill) thought out decision, we all love you so much,” Prelyubodeev said dejectedly. – And it doesn’t (at all) matter whether you are a student or not!

So (not) at all (in) a comradely way,” Preobrazhensky thought (in) his heart.

- If I were not me, but the most beautiful, smartest and best person in the world, I would this very minute on my knees ask for your hand and love...
- Yes Yes! – Helen picked up. - I know: it’s Pierre who says Natasha! I remember almost all the scenes of declaration of love in Russian novels. They are beautiful!
“Of course, of course,” thought Preobrazhensky gloomily.
– Odintsova and Bazarov are especially good. “Blow on the dying lamp!” How nice!”
- And Kitty and Levin? - Lenochka continued. - Remember?

Their silent conversation on the green baize of the card table? After all, they wrote the initial letters in chalk - and everything was said: that she loved him, that she would tell her parents, that tomorrow he would come to do the next thing...

So (not) at all (in) a comradely way,” Preobrazhensky thought (in) his heart.

"Oh my God! - thought Preobrazhensky. “I will (n_) endure the second tragedy this day.” He walked towards his room and closed the door tightly.

The general looked at the flowers with pleasure and opened the door to the waiting room.

I still had to call Irina Rodionovna to cancel the festive dinner and save Lenochka from the necessary congratulations.
- This was (n_)enough! - Irina Rodionovna raged. - Whom should I accept then? She (n_)ba_lov (n_) got the required amount! (N_)no other way to explain her failure!
– I’ve known you (n_)few years, Irina. You are (n_) imitable.
He thought that the paid department was a brilliant way out of the situation. (N_)having finished his sentences, he grabbed his suddenly ringing cell phone.
Prilutsky called. He had just left the reception office and carefully (n_)hurriedly, glancing at the details, reported that a (n_)big (n_) misunderstanding had occurred. The long list of applicants (n_) fit on one sheet of paper.
The surname Lenochk_ was the last one on the first page_ and ended up in the place where two pieces of paper were glued together. This is such (n_)forgivable (n_)negligence, (n_)more, (n_)less! (In) view of such an incident, Prilutsky was given a duplicate list of those accepted and now he is going to work. “Thunder of victory, unwind!” – Preobrazhensky muttered to himself and looked cheerfully at the raging (until now) receiver, voiced by the voice of Irina Rodionovna.
“Our conversation (n_) long ago still rings in my ears...” he sang tenderly to her.
-Are you crazy? – the receiver finally got angry and after a pause asked in a crying voice: – Other news Kostya? Tell (n_)soul! Having quickly finished the conversation, Preobrazhensky opened the office door. (N_)knowing fatigue_ Lenochka had already sorted out all the mail and now, taking flowers out of the basket, peacefully talked with Prelyubodeev about the novel "Kys" by Tatyana Tolstaya. Preobrazhensky was pleased to hear that the main character in the novel is language! Wonderful!

Next to the Adultery, Lenochka became especially fragile. She (n_) reached his shoulder and stood on her toes to put the vase on a high shelf. Adulterers nodded their heads in agreement sometimes (something) he commented on, helping her to dispel (n_) respect Not Red roses neither throughout the entire process and carefully (not_) touching upon the sad morning details, he made plans for admission to the next year. Preobrazhensky hugged them both and reported on the wonderful news that Prilutsky had just told him.

We often encounter the problem of merging and separate writing of particles "" And " "with other words. The easiest rule to understand and remember here is that: 1. In all cases when a word is not used without a negative particle, For example:

ignorant, inevitable, unfortunate, indignant, unwell, unwell, lacking

  • (meaning “not enough”),
  • impossible, impossible, really, unbearable, unshakable, unharmed.

2. With verbs and gerunds, the particle “not” is always written separately, except: Not to be confused with verbs with the prefix do- and the particle " Not”, indicating “incompleteness of the action” (not finishing reading a book, not finishing watching a movie).

3. With nouns, the particle “not” is written together:

  • if for the word with it is impossible to find a synonym without this particle (untruth - lie, foe - enemy); Note. It is not always possible to find an exact synonym, but the affirmative connotation of the meaning of the word indicates a consistent spelling.
  • when forming a word denoting persons, with the meaning of opposition (professionals - non-professionals, Russian - non-Russian);

apart:

  • when there is or should be, in meaning, a contrast with the conjunction a (not a friend, but an enemy, not happiness, but grief);
  • if a word with " Not" means not people (elephants are not elephants, a story is not a story, cold is not cold).

2. With verbs and gerunds, the particle “not” is always written separately, except: Exceptions are words-terms that are written together: metals - non-metals.

4. With adjectives, the particle “not” is written together:

  • if you can replace the adjective with " Not" is a synonym without this particle (unmarried - single, unfriendly - hostile, short - low). Note. It is not always possible to find an exact synonym, but the affirmative connotation of the meaning of the word indicates a consistent spelling.

apart:

  • when there is or should be, in meaning, a contrast with the conjunction “a” (not bitter, but sweet; not affectionate, but rude);
  • if the adjective is relative (the vase is not crystal, the chain is not silver) or qualitative, denoting color (the sea is not blue, the towel is not yellow);
  • (not a shortcut at all, far from useless advice);
  • if the particle " Not” is emphasized in an interrogative sentence (Isn’t this statement true? - Is this statement false?);
  • if the adjective is written with a hyphen (not commercial and industrial enterprises).

Note 1. Short adjectives are written with " Not", just like the complete ones from which they are derived ( incurable disease- the disease is incurable, the person is not smart, but stupid - the person is not smart, but stupid);

Note 2. If short adjective doesn't have full form, then it will always be written separately from the particle “ Not"(he is not happy to meet).

5. With adverbs, the particle “not” is written together:

  • if the adverb ends in -o, and it can be replaced with a word similar in meaning (unhappy - sad, not high - low);
  • if the adverb is formed from a pronoun (nowhere, nowhere, no time, nowhere);

apart:

  • when there is or should be, in meaning, a contrast with the conjunction “a” (not bad, but good, not weak, but strong);
  • when strengthening negation with explanatory words such as “not at all”, “not at all”, “not at all”(not at all difficult to do, being nearby is far from accidental)
  • with adverbs in a comparative degree (to work no worse than others, to receive no more than others);
  • if the adverb is written with a hyphen (to act unfriendly, to dress unsuitably).

Note 1. Not with the following adverbs is written separately: not today, not at all, not like that, not otherwise, not quite, not here, not really.

Note 2. It is not written separately with adverbial expressions: not good, not according to the gut, not in moderation, not in a hurry, not by hand, not to taste, not as an example.

6. With participles “not” is written together:

  • if the participle is complete and there are no words dependent on it (undried laundry, an unturned book, an unwashed floor)

2. With verbs and gerunds, the particle “not” is always written separately, except: With explanatory words denoting the degree of quality, “not” is written together with the participle: (an extremely rash decision, a completely inappropriate example, but: an example that is completely inappropriate to the rule)

apart:

  • if the participle is complete and has dependent words (These works remained unpublished during the writer’s lifetime);
  • with short participles (the debt is not paid, the fire is not lit);
  • when there is or should be, in meaning, a contrast with the conjunction “a” (not printed, but handwritten text, not a fictional, but a real story).

7. The particles “not” and “nor” with negative pronouns are written together

Neither is written together:

1. In pronouns, if the particle is not separated from the subsequent pronoun by a preposition, for example: no one, nothing, no one, nothing, no, no one's, no one's, no one's, But: no one, no one and so on.

2. In adverbs never, nowhere, nowhere, nowhere, no way, not at all, not at all, not at all, not at all and in a particle somewhere.

In all other cases, the particle is not written separately.

Note. It is necessary to distinguish between revolutions none other than..., none other than... from revolutions no one else...; nothing else... for example: it was none other than your brother but: no one else could say this; It was nothing more than a fire; but: nothing else could scare me.

8. The particle “ni” is also written together with some adverbs(not at all, not at all, nowhere, not at all).

The particle is not written separately with all other parts of speech.

Next to the Adultery, Lenochka became especially fragile. She (n_) reached his shoulder and stood on her toes to put the vase on a high shelf. Preobrazhensky hugged them both and reported on the wonderful news that Prilutsky had just told him.

1. The particle “not” is written together with all words that are not used without “not”(fable, unsociable, ignorant, ridiculous, dislike, be perplexed, impossible, really). In other cases, writing " Not» is subject to the following rules.

; (not) having -yes written with a dash in words after all, after all and then when it follows the verb: I finally found out. In other cases, the particle after all written separately:

Note 1. You should pay attention to two cases of separate writing of a particle Lesson 2 1) if with an adjective, noun or adverb (in -O ), which includes negation Not , there are explanatory words to strengthen the negation, expressed by negative pronouns or adverbs with neither (nothing , to nothing , not at all , not at all , nowhere etc.), then the particle Not written separately: nothing Not wonderful village; neither for what Not capable person; neither In what sense Not success; neither to what extent Not successfully; 2) if the particle Not is part of intensifying negative combinations: far Not , not at all Not , at all Not , then these combinations are always written separately from the word following them (in such cases opposition is always implied): far Not profitable enterprise, not at all Not fair decision, at all Not stupid, at all Not Badly, far Not Friend etc.

On the contrary, in the presence of words denoting degree: very, very, extremely, in highest degree, completely, almost, partly- particle Not written together: the deal is very Not profitable(unprofitable), it's almost Not politeness(coarseness), very Not interesting(boring) story, acted to the highest degree Not carefully(rashly) this is extreme Not profitable(unprofitable).
