How to draw doll eyes. Draw eyes on a textile doll. Master Class

Dear friends! We continue to publish master classes on creating . And today we will introduce you to another doll fairy. Her name is Elena Negorozhenko, and she lives in the city of Irkutsk. For several years now, Elena has been passionate about creating amazing ones that you can’t look at and not feel admiration for. And, as a master with a capital letter, Elena is happy to share the secrets of her craft with everyone.

I’ll say right away that the master class is intended for training. Please be grateful to the author and respect his work. It is prohibited to make copies of designer dolls for sale. Try to create your own masterpiece using some of the master’s “tricks”, and you will see for yourself how much more pleasant it is to sell your own work.

So, today's master class is devoted to painting the face of a textile doll.

To work you will need:

Preparation of the doll's face;

Disappearing marker for marking;

Threads (transparent monofilament was used here), a needle for tightening;

Artistic oil paints (brown and shades, white, red) (these paints must be prepared in advance: squeeze a little onto a napkin an hour before work, in this case excess oil will be absorbed);

Acrylic universal paints;

Artificial kolinsky brushes No. 00, 1 and 2.

How to draw a doll's face master class:

1. We already have a head blank. To begin with, let's outline with a disappearing marker what we will have where. We outline the features of the doll's face.

2. After marking, you need to do. This is a master class on painting, so to have an idea about tightening, follow the link and read detailed master class. The photo shows that the eyelids, nostrils and lips were stitched.

Here's what happened:

The wig is for the photo so that the head is not bald.))
3. Now take the paint brown tint(I have “red ocher”) and shade the eyelids in the corners of the eyes and a little on the eyebrows. Little by little so as not to spoil it.

4. Next, paint red and white flowers, shading, we outline the lips. Nano shadows in the corners of the mouth and nostrils brown.

5. Apply a little white paint to the eyelids, tip of the nose, lips and chin. Apply blush lightly. The brush should have just a little bit of paint in it. After dipping the brush into the paint, I rub it over a piece of paper until almost nothing remains on it.

I advise beginners not to use black in their work, even when drawing eyelashes. There is a risk of ruining everything or making the doll “worthlessly cheap.”

6. It's time to paint with acrylic paints. First, paint the whites of the eyes with white. We add a little volume to the sponges. Then we draw the lips with dark shades. We also draw eyebrows with a thin brush.

7. Shade the whites of the eyes with a gray-blue color, slightly. We draw the nostrils and eyelids more clearly.

8. Let's do the iris. The exhibit doll will have blue eyes. We take blue, white, green and black paints, mix by eye and draw the iris with rounding movements.

9. Now we turn on all our artistic abilities and draw different shades on the iris.

10. Don't make your eyes too bright, this will make them look more natural. We also draw the pupils not black, just dark color. We draw highlights equally on both eyes.

Master class from Ellada Magaramova. I am often asked how I paint dolls' eyes. For a long time I was too lazy to film this process, but then I just got sick, I can’t sew, so I have time to post my work.

So, we will need a doll, acrylic paints (for fabric or for arts and crafts), as well as pastel crayons on oil based, tinting brushes bristles No. 2, No. 4, No. 7

I have these:

So, let's get started! We take the doll, before tinting I make tightening and tint with a standard solution - coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, PVA.

I start with the eyes and apply along the contour white paint and I tint the corners a little with light gray and blue (depending on the type of doll).

I draw the iris.

I apply a highlight with a lighter tone, and white inside the highlight. I blend it onto the wet side and dry it with a hairdryer.

I draw a black pupil and a white highlight from the light, on the opposite side from the lightest one in the pupil. Note!!! If we strive for authenticity of the peephole, then the pupil is located EXACTLY in the center!!! It makes up one third of the iris!

If the pupil turns out to be “clumsy”, you can then draw on it with a marker or a black gel pen. I finish drawing the lips, apply the eyebrows with a semi-dry brush, outline the contour of the eye and outline (SLIGHTLY!!!) the eyelid. The result is such a big smile!

Now let's start tinting. I tint from light to dark tones. With a wide brush No. 7 I “scrape” the pastel pencil red color, I apply blush in the cheek area. With the same brush I move a pencil of light brown or terracotta color and apply shadows in the area of the nose, bridge of the nose, upper eyelid, cheeks, outer corner of the eye, under the lip, and also on the forehead. The photo clearly shows the tinted areas.

Let's start highlighting the eyes. With the same pencil (terracotta) and brush No. 4 (the brush is trimmed to half) I apply shadows in the outer corner of the eye, eyebrows, along the lower and upper eyelids, as well as the nostrils, frenulum of the upper lip and the corners of the lips.

On top of this tinting I apply shadows of a dark brown color. The corners of the eyes, if I want to “drown” the eyes, then the entire eyelid, under the lip, eyebrows and upper eyelid. To do this, I take a brush with bristles No. 2, cut halfway.

In principle, the painting is finished and everything is ready, but I like the final touch with black, I apply it along the upper and lower eyelids, slightly going over the white of the eye. These are the “smoky” eyes that you get, or, as makeup artists like to say, smoky eyes.

The Tilda doll, thanks to its original individuality, can afford to be without a face, mouth, nose, and with dotted eyes. But in all other cases, painting a doll’s face is one of the main ways to put character and soul into a craft. The hackneyed phrase “the eyes are the mirror of the soul” is 100% right in this case. It is the expression of the doll’s face, the raised or lowered corners of the mouth, and the shape of the eyebrows that tell about the character of the textile doll. Therefore, it is very important to paint her face the way the author intended and according to all the laws of plasticity.

A textile caramel doll should be cheerful, a little naive, and therefore a little surprised. Smiling mouth, round snub nose already stitched along the contour. All we have to do is apply decorative makeup.

We will paint with acrylic paints, although in some places it is allowed to apply war paint in oils. Prepare in advance a palette for diluting paint, brushes of different thicknesses and hardness, white paper for testing.

  • Let's start the master class with preparing the paint. Place a very small amount of it on the palette and dip the tip of a dry, hard brush. Choose a tone slightly darker than the “skin” of the toy. Brush excess paint onto a piece of paper.

  • Using light, quick strokes, apply the paint to the cheeks, in the grooves of the stitches, near the eyes and mouth. You can tint the nose a little. If the paint is not applied evenly enough, blend it cotton swab.

  • Apply white paint to the eye circles.

  • Mark the middle of the eye with a pencil, then step back a little upward (1-2 mm) and draw a large circle from this center. Step back another 1 mm and draw a smaller circle. Make your eyes the same. Paint over first big circle light brown paint, then, without waiting for it to dry, make the outer diameter dark with a smooth transition to light brown towards the center. Once dry, outline the black pupil.

  • Using a thin brush, make two white spots on both pupils. One is small, the other is large. Look how our doll's eyes sparkled. This is how the hand-drawn plastic surgery of the face turned out. All you have to do is brush a little dry red paint over your lips and the caramel is ready.

Advice. For tinting, you can use a mixture of ground cinnamon and fine instant coffee.

We will start this master class with pencil drawing. There are certain rules and proportions by which all features are drawn, not only for dolls. Imagine that your face is a circle. Divide it mentally into 4 equal sectors. It is on the horizontal axis that the inner corners of the eyes and the centers of the pupils will be located. The outer corners, depending on the facial plastic surgery, can be lower, higher and generally asymmetrical to each other. In our case they are lowered down. Melancholic textile doll. Raised eyebrows at the nose also indicate that this craft is not very happy life.

  1. We draw the pupils, eyelids and mouth.
  2. Paint the squirrels with a thin brush of white paint.
  3. Draw the blue pupil.
  4. Draw a black circle in the center so that it touches the eyelid.
  5. Place two white dots (small and large) on the black circle.
  6. Blend dry white paint over the blue iris. Try to ensure that all manipulations performed are the same in both eyes.
  7. Make shadows. They are also applied with dry pastel. Blue along the edges of the whites and black along the borders of the eyelids. Draw eyelashes, nose, lips.
  8. Use dry paint or pastels to create a subtle blush.
  9. Here you go! All that remains is to add a few small freckles, put a piquant hat with red curls on her head and the sad lady is ready.

Notice how lively the eyes are on the dolls, which are painted by the wonderful needlewoman Irina Khochina. It seems that these are not painted, but at least glass pupils. Irina explains how to achieve this in one of her master classes.

Always remember that the eye is a large sphere inserted into the head. The shadows on it are located in the same way as on the sphere. The extreme, lightest point is the highlight, followed by light, penumbra and, finally, shadow.

  1. Draw two identical circles on the central axis (in the middle of the face). It always visually seems that the eyes should be a little higher to the hairline. This visual illusion It turns out due to the fact that the lower part of the face is more loaded with elements (nose, mouth, chin).
  2. Then draw eyelids from below and above deep into the circle.
  3. The pupil should be slightly closed upper eyelid. Only in a very frightened person can it be in the middle without touching the eyelids. But it won't look nice.
  4. The next step is toning the brow ridges. Slightly darken the distance from the eye to the eyebrow. This will create depth and volume.
  5. We paint the eye with off-white paint so that the absolutely white highlight stands out against this background.
  6. We paint the iris and black pupil. Don't use pure color. Add a little brown to the blue, etc. The iris also changes saturation from the edge to the center.
  7. Draw a shadow under the eyelid.
  8. We place two white dots relative to the center of the eye opposite each other. One point will represent the highlight (lower), the second (upper) its reflection.
  9. We outline the eye. The line closer to the highlight should be brighter. Draw the upper eyelid clearly, because it is covered in dark eyelashes and has a shadow. Draw the line of the lower eyelid lighter and almost dotted, darkening towards the outer corner.
Drawing eyes textile doll. Master Class

Very often, many needlewomen who love to sew textile dolls have problems when painting the doll’s face, and especially the eye. I think that you might find a master class from Elena useful for your work (A_Lenushka)

For work we will need:
1 Acrylic paints
2 Synthetic brushes
3 The doll’s body is primed (I prime with a mixture of 0.5 water + 0.5 PVA + acrylic paint)
4 Water
5 Sheet of paper (instead of a palette)
6 A simple pencil and an eraser.
First you need to draw a doll's face on paper. This will allow you to get better and you will have a cheat sheet where you will periodically look. Believe me, it’s better to ruin a few sheets of paper than a finished doll carcass. You can use “mother’s” magazines (about babies) as a sample; they contain very high-quality photographs

Additionally, I prime my face with almost undiluted PVA glue and dry it. After this, the paint adheres perfectly and the face looks like porcelain. In addition, I pass the brush along the neck (the seams securing the head) and legs. The neck will become stronger, and the legs will also be painted

Draw eyes on the face with a pencil, outline a nose and mouth. Fill the eye with white acrylic paint(including eyelid). Using the remaining paint (on the tip of the brush) we outline the nose and eyebrows (just put dots). We wash the brush. We wait for it to dry and outline the contours of the eyelid and iris with a pencil.

We draw the iris by carefully picking up paint on the brush. Did you draw it? Now, we dipped the brush in water and ran it across the paper (removing excess paint). Is the trail slightly blue? make shadows on the white (or whatever it’s called?) of the eye. If the brush leaves almost no mark, then gurgle it again in water, draw it over a sheet of paper (remove excess paint), put 0.5 mm of paint on the brush, lightly smear it on the paper and paint the eyelid with the rest

Cleaned the brush. passed over the paper (removed excess moisture). dip the brush literally 1 mm into the paint. We rest our elbow firmly and trace the eyelid with a confident hand. Let's get more paint and draw the pupil. Use the remaining paint to add shadows on the squirrel and iris. The brush gurgled in the water. Swipe across the paper. Is there a trace left? Amazing! Now with this brush we add shadows above the eyelid, under the nose and lightly outline the mouth. Brush no longer paints? dip it in water and there will be enough paint on it again

Rinse the brush thoroughly. We dried it. We collected some white paint. Add highlights and lighten the lower part of the iris slightly. Use the remaining paint to add brightness to the nose

I draw the nose and mouth with a bronze outline. I also add shadows near the eyes. You can draw eyelashes. Or you can leave it like that

I remind you once again:
We paint with a synthetic brush (it is more elastic).
We wash the brush thoroughly, acrylic paint dries very quickly, a lump forms at the tip of the brush, and it really interferes with painting.
We paint with an almost dry brush. Before picking up paint, dry the brush by running it over the paper several times. Otherwise the colors will be faded and blurry. If the brush does not glide, it means there is still not enough water.
If you waved your brush in a different direction than you intended, don’t cry! Fresh paint is washed off with water and a cotton swab. Dried with nail polish remover and the same cotton swab

I really liked the Techno yarn for hair quality. I knitted a rug to fit my head.

We tried it on to the head, all that remained was to sew it on.
