The first thing you need to pay attention to is the plot, and the second is the main characters. The main actions of this anime revolve around the main characters Aoi and Kaoru. These young guys fall in love with each other, although they know practically nothing about the life of their other half. Kaoru is generally presented as a rather quiet and uncommunicative student who managed to attract the attention of the main character. It seems that the idea sounds quite banal and ordinary, but nevertheless it differs from most similar paintings in its insight and sensuality. In this project there will not be any unexpected, turning points, dangerous moments when there is a feeling that everything will end somehow not very well. Here we see a completely smooth and competently developing plot, without any jumps or unexpected moments. The creators also did a good job on the temporal connection between events, so the episodes with the characters’ memories look quite interesting and attractive. All this is aimed at ensuring that the audience can understand the story itself as best as possible, feel it and let it pass through themselves. They managed to cope with this task really well, so that the impressions and emotions from everything they saw were only the most pleasant and enthusiastic. Now let's get acquainted with the main characters themselves and try to discover them for ourselves. I really really liked all the characters in this anime and were able to interest me from the first minutes of watching. They seem to be typical characters, but they have their own peculiarity. But Aoi should not be included in the general mass; I would like to talk about her separately later! Kaoru is a completely ordinary guy who is a student. As a child, he had to endure a lot of suffering and torment. First he loses his beloved mother, then he tries to withstand bullying from his father, but ultimately he still decides to leave his home. He wants to forget about all this, wants to start new life and not remember all this torment and suffering. All this forced the guy to simply withdraw into himself and experience these problems alone. It is for this reason that Kaoru has no friends, and he does not get along with women at all. The only pleasant memory from his past life is this sweet and pretty girl Aoi, with whom he played as a child. He constantly thought about her, although he was well aware that it was unlikely that they would ever be able to meet again. Miyabi is really a very good and positive heroine, who I liked more and more with each episode. I would also like to highlight Maya and Chika, who can also be called the main actors in this project. They will be able to reveal themselves more fully only in the second part, but here they were also able to show themselves quite well. In this part, they were able to help Kaoru and Aoi appear in a more open form. Moreover, there will be a lot of fun and funny situations associated with these characters, so it will be really exciting to watch these characters. Only the most curious, unusual, interesting and multifaceted character for me in this project was Sakuraba Aoi. The creators didn’t just present us with some ordinary stereotyped character, they were able to show us something very cute and pleasant. Aoi was idealized and presented as herself best girl and wives. The authors were able to reward the heroine with an incredibly beautiful appearance, as well as sensitivity and tenderness, which she did not hesitate to show to everyone. Before us is truly an ideal heroine, who is endowed with kindness, tenderness, compassion and a soft heart, ready to help everyone. The girl herself is very hardworking and ready to help with household chores at any time. She loves cleaning, cooking, taking care of household chores, shopping and much more. The heroine is able to understand everyone and share with them both sorrow and joy, so one can only envy her pure and kind heart. After all, in addition to this, she is a very devoted, faithful and reliable girl, ready to love, wait faithfully and forgive. Aoi doesn't know what jealousy is at all. Ai Yori Aoshi – magnificent romantic anime, performed according to all the rules of this genre. However, when watching, some features of the series' construction immediately catch your eye. Firstly, this is the plot, and secondly, the characters.
The plot and the entire action of the series revolves around the love of the main character Aoi for a simple and inconspicuous student Kaoru. But, despite the banality of the idea, this anime differs from series such as Onegai Teacher, Da Capo and the like in that there are no sharp, turning points in the action, when it seems that everything is about to end, and not at all well. The plot develops gradually, without jumps or breaks; The logical and temporal connection of events is well executed, and the footage with the heroes’ memories is not at all annoying - on the contrary, they help us better understand the thoughts and feelings of the heroes, their secret experiences, pain experienced in the past...
I really liked the characters of Ai Yori Aoshi. All the characters are shown in development, well thought out, and most importantly, they are quite typical (we are not considering Aoi yet; we will talk about her below).
Kaoru is a simple student who experienced the loss of his mother, bullying and humiliation from his father as a child, and left home to start all over again and build his own life. He was withdrawn into himself for a long time, had a hard time worrying about his past, so he could not find friends for himself, and he could not even dream of girls. But he remembered that in childhood he had a good time with the girl Aoi, remembered her, but did not even hope to meet her again, although he had hope for this in his soul... Kaoru is a kind and sympathetic guy, capable of love, feeling and always ready to selflessly help those in need. He is hardworking, modest, gentle... But all these qualities were fully revealed in him only after a new meeting with Aoi, Tina, Taeko and the rest of the characters of the series...
American Tina is a noisy, cheerful and very active girl, although she loves to drink and is sometimes annoying and impudent. But under this behavior she hides the loneliness and alienation she has experienced, the desire to be loved and needed, as well as secret feelings for Kaoru. She definitely adds something fun and interesting to the series and I feel like without her this anime would be incomplete and monotonous.
Taeko is, in principle, a fairly typical image in the world of anime. But at the same time, I really liked this clumsy and simple-minded fool. In Ai Yori Aoshi, there are many funny and very cute situations associated with her, which are a real pleasure to watch. For all her faults, Taeko is very sweet and kind girl, who is not alien to tenderness, responsiveness, the desire to love and be loved...
The house manager Miyabi is also pleased interesting character. She devoted her entire life to working for the company and especially raising Aoi, with whom her parents apparently did not have time. She became like a mother to Aoi, taught her a lot, always helped her, supported her in difficult situations. At first, Miyabi, who seems rude and even angry, is actually kind and sensitive inside, very hardworking and loving order above all. All these qualities are clearly manifested in the episode with the rescue of Uzume, who was stuck behind the clock. After this scene, my attitude towards Miyabi immediately changed for the better.
Mayu and Chika can be considered both the main and the minor characters series. Their images are fully revealed in the second part of the series (Enishi), and here they help to better reveal the characters of Kaoru and Aoi, plus there are many funny and rather cute situations associated with them, making the action more fun and interesting.
But still, the most interesting and unusual character of Ai Yori Aoshi is Sakuraba Aoi. I believe that the image of Aoi is a deeply idealized image that embodies the ideal of a girl, the ideal of a wife. Main character not only incredibly good looking, but also endowed kind soul, sensitive nature. She is a very gentle and kind girl, ready at any time, even sacrificing her interests, to help a person, explain, teach. Aoi is very hardworking, she likes to take care of the house, cook, clean, wash clothes, go shopping... She is not alien to compassion, she can share both grief and joy, and most importantly, she is able to love tenderly and faithfully, wait, forgive. She is not familiar with jealousy, she always hopes for the best and is ready to fight for her happiness on her own. But Aoi is not just perfect image- she is a girl from another time, from another world, because selfishness, the desire to show off herself or prove something to anyone are completely alien to her, she puts home, family and love in the first place, she is also close to nature, to her national culture, traditions, she knows the feeling of beauty...
We can talk about Aoi for a very long time, but the best thing to say about her is the words of Tina, sincerely spoken to her in the second part of the series after returning from America: “You are kind and know how to do everything. You are the most feminine of all who live here.” I think it's hard to disagree with this.
In general, in Ai Yori Aoshi a lot of space is devoted not only to the feelings, relationships and experiences of the characters, but also to the depiction national culture and traditions of Japanese society. You can learn a lot about this topic here. The anime turned out to be very beautiful, bright, and most importantly kind, cheerful and very sweet. It looks very easy, doesn’t load at all, doesn’t get boring. Of course, everyone has their own opinion and perception: maybe someone won’t like something or not everyone will find here what I found, but I think Ai Yori Aoshi will certainly appeal to all fans of the genre, and will leave everyone else with only pleasant impression...

Although outwardly Kaoru Hanabishi is an ordinary student and a member of a photography circle, none of his friends know that in fact Kaoru is the heir to the influential Hanabishi business dynasty, who ran away from them, unable to put up with their practices and violation of the memory of his late mother.
