Then the teenager heard the work of the American rock band "Mindless Self Indulgence" and immediately began to learn to play the guitar. Already at that time, the guy felt the need to express himself, so he began to think about creating his own group.
The beginning of a musical career
Around 2013, Kirill finally decided to put together his own rock band and called it “Vulgar Molly”. In the name the guy put a collective image of a young person who is his target audience and symbol creative activity Pale.By the way, they started calling the young man Pale when he smoked marijuana for the first time at the age of 14, bringing himself to a pale state. The group began its active work on February 14, 2016, when it released the track “Your Sister’s Favorite Song,” which is a symbiosis of rock and electronic music. On February 25, 2017, the group’s first mini-album was released, which received the spectacular title “8 Ways to Stop Jerk Off.” The release includes both old songs and new works.The solo album focused on themes that are relevant to modern youth (parties, fashion, alcohol, love, etc.), performed in the pop-punk genre. The Village listened to the six-track recording and identified its main components.
"EP in Apple Music"
New material from the group has been expected for a long time: “Vulgar Molly” began playing new songs on summer concerts, demos began to appear on the Internet, and when a big solo concert in Moscow was postponed from November to February, citing the unavailability of the new concert program, everything finally fell into place. The release came out under strange circumstances: “Sad girl with eyes like a dog” appeared on Apple Music late in the evening on Monday, January 29, and only a couple of hours later, the group published a laconic entry in the 250,000-strong public: “The new epoch-making ep is already in Apple Music.” In iTunes, the new release is dated January 12 and is signed to the major label Warner Music Russia. Perhaps this explains why the group, whose collective image of the listener is a schoolgirl, releases a release exclusively on the subscription platform Apple Music, without even trying to participate in the VK race for reposts (the meaninglessness of which, however, was proven by the current champion, rapper Lizer, who ended up on first place, mobilizing all possible means, including dozens of pages with suspicious names lizer1, lizer2, and so on).
Sound
“Vulgar Molly” plays the same cheerful pop-punk, seasoned with epileptic drum machine rhythms and disturbing synths. The latter are turned so high here that they almost drown out the vocals - not the most obvious approach to mixing. Considering that the releases of famous punks are now handled by a major label, the roughness of the sound and obvious mistakes in mixing becomes much more difficult to forgive. There is also a production decision dictated by fashion: Kirill Bledny’s voice on several tracks was treated with auto-tune. Even if this is an extremely ironic move, it turned out interesting: high voice the thin 20-year-old lead singer, with his sweatshirt hanging loosely, now vaguely resembles a polished R&B hedonist, dousing emotional trauma with a bottle of cognac.
Popularity and self-irony
"Nasty Molly" does not give interviews - at least, this is how the group's manager responded to several requests made in different times. The outcome is predictable: even fans of the group, who, it would seem, should not be so conservative, are outraged in the comments: “They ruined such a song!”
A more experimental approach to understanding the status of a rock star is the song “Glass,” in which Bledny, with the bipolarity characteristic of a teenager, talks about his life “behind the glass,” that is, in the media space. The glass here turns out to be the walls of the metaphorical bong of his fan - perhaps that very Vulgar Molly, that is, her collective image. Having achieved popularity, the 20-year-old artist regrets his childhood dream, having difficulty coping with side effects glory. But he is not discouraged; a plan to escape “to the other side of the glass” has already been invented: get into the fan’s brain, and then escape “through a tampon.”

By the middle of the EP, the band finds themselves in their comfort zone: literally at a “typical pool party.” But this is more likely not a fit in the post-Soviet space, but all Linklater and the dreams of American teenagers: if an emo girl who is in love with the captain football team, you can still believe that there is no place for the pool into which the hero, without taking off his clothes, “jumps in the hope of sex,” in Khrushchev’s apartment.
