Anime drawings that are easy to draw. How to draw in anime style (for beginners). How to paint a “good picture”? "

Now many young people are interested in drawing in the anime style. Let's try to figure it out together - what is it and how to draw it all correctly?

Step 1

Draw the chin and cheeks. Focus on drawing them the same on both sides. Although it may look simple, even the slightest mistake can make the drawing look unattractive.

Step 2

Draw the neck. Notice how thin it is.

Step 3

Draw the nose and mouth. Most anime artists draw the nose and mouth VERY small. However, some people don't do this, so decide for yourself.

Step 4

Add eyes. Notice how far apart and how close to the nose they are.

Step 5

Add eyebrows. Notice how much longer they are relative to the eyes.

Step 6

Add the ears and you have created a face. Notice that I added a hairline. Big head...
Please note: the angle of the ear is directed towards the eye.

3/4 view.
About the average head size (for anime). It doesn't look very attractive until you add hair. Hair is such a big part of anime that it requires a separate tutorial.

The guy's facial structure is different (in most cases). Guys' faces are usually more elongated, their chins are more pronounced.

When drawing a guy's neck, you can draw it similar to a girl's neck (but usually only for young boys, including teenagers). Or, as shown, you can draw it more developed.

Side view
Man and woman - style 1
More realistic and more pronounced. Their noses don't end sharply. Their eyes are smaller. Guys' chins are more prominent than girls'.

Man and woman - style 2
Their head is more round. Their eyes are bigger.
You can draw an almost straight line from the tip of your nose to your chin. (i.e. lips and chin are weakly defined - approx. per.)

General methods face shading
There are many ways to shade a face, here are a few.
Try to leave a little space between the shadow and the nose.
Sometimes there are highlights above the cheek and on the lip.

Drawing eyes
Drawing simple eye
Step 1.

Draw a shape like this to make the white base of the eye.
It will only serve as a guide and you will erase it when you are finished.

Step 2

From each corner, draw a line directed outward, then connect them with an arc.

Step 3

After creating the arcs, paint over the resulting shapes.

Step 4

Add the shapes shown.

Step 5

Color in these shapes and add a sketch of the iris.
Erase the guide lines and you're done. Now you have a simple eye.

Drawing More Complex Eyes
Step 6

Continue from step 5, draw some eyelashes from the top left corner of the eye.

Step 7

Creating “soft” eyelashes.

Create"soft" eyelashes on both ends upper eyelid. See instructions above. (Instructions: Draw the lines very close together. At the end of each stroke, release pressure on the pencil (or XD tablet) to create soft ends.)
Step 8

Add small eyelashes to the lower eyelid.

Step 9

Add folds above the eye and you have created eyelids.

Remember that the eyelids are usually very thick and have no large quantity eyelashes raised up like a real eye
Drawing the iris and pupil
If you have a tablet, sketch out the iris (like the eye above) and take advantage of your graphics program to create some truly amazing anime eyes.
Since not everyone has a tablet, I will draw the iris and pupil as if using a pencil.
Step 1

Draw the base of half the pupil.

Step 2

Fill in, moving from a darker shade to a lighter one (using a gradient).

Step 3

Add shadows at the top and base.

Step 4

Some artists add a second ring.

Step 5

Add plenty of highlights and you're done.
When observing professional anime artists in galleries, I noticed that almost all anime artists draw them from similar angles.

On a face looking directly at you, the eyes are sometimes placed at an angle (arrows illustrate this angle).

A common misconception is that what bigger face goes into a 3/4 turn, the further that eye (the eye farthest from you - approx. per) will move towards the edge of the face. It is not right!
Do you see the shapes limiting the area with the eyes? Let me say that these lines are guides.
The greater the angle of rotation relative to you, the smaller and narrower the guide lines will be (at the far end of the figure - approx.), but they do not change their position.

This is one of the few angles where you should draw the eye at the edge of the face.

Drawing closed eyes.
If the eyes arch downwards (like a U), then the character is sleeping, meditating (thinking) or is in a peaceful state.
If the eyes arch upward, the character is very happy or smiling.

Different eyes
Remember, you should not draw eyes “strictly according to the template”. Be creative, combine and mix various ways to create your own unique eyes.
Many anime style eyes have a slanted upper eyelid:

Round eyes:

Cat or snake eyes:

Eyes used for zombies or hypnotized characters:

When drawing eyes with tears, make the drops large and draw the highlights/reflections in the eye more than you would normally do.

Side view of the eye.
Keep your distance. Pay attention to how far the eye is (from the bridge of the nose - approx. per.).

Drawing Noses and Mouths
Mouths and noses (in anime) are usually quite small compared to the rest of the face. In anime-style pictures, the main emphasis is usually on the eyes.

Drawing Anime Ears
Almost every anime artist draws ears differently. Draw creatively! Ears can be anything you want different characters, so have fun.

Drawing bangs.
There are many ways to draw anime bangs.
This tutorial divides bangs into two categories: bangs with a certain organization of strands (in the future, for brevity, I will call them combed bangs - translator's note) and random bangs.
Combed bangs.
Comb bangs are bangs that cover the entire forehead, and perhaps most bangs that are commonly drawn. However, there may be certain features when drawing them, since they are not straight.
Point and Guide Method.
Step 1.

This helps in creating the first guide lines. Create a dot or circle directly above the face.

Step 2.

Create a guide curve. Outline the boundaries of the large strands of bangs. Please note that all lines are directed towards the point.
Each strand of hair will follow the same curve as the guide.

Step 3.

Start sketching each strand.
Remember to maintain the consistency of the bends and draw the strands in the direction of the point.

Step 4.

Finish sketching out the bangs.
Please note that the middle strand serves as a way to mark the middle (line of facial symmetry - translator's note). The bangs on both sides of the middle strand bend in different directions.

Step 5.

Clean up your sketch or outline the strands.

You can also add more bangs.

The point and guide method used above was also used for this illustration. The point was placed much higher to make the bends in the strands smaller.

Side view
Step 1.

This is the same guiding principle used in the Point and Guide Method. The only difference is that it is rotated.

Step 2.

Start sketching each strand. Draw curves where the guide line bends and make the end of the strand where the guide stops.

Step 3.

Erase guides and lines that you don't want to see. Remember to adapt the guide and change it to suit your character's personality.

If you draw strands by picking a point on another strand and going from there, your bangs will probably look like this. The strands will likely be deformed and further separated, and will give the same effect as shown in the picture to the right. Drawing in this manner is best used for spiky hair.

By drawing the whole strands and then going back and erasing the unwanted parts so that it is not noticeable, you can get straight strands that look combed like the one shown here.

Bangs don't always have to be that V-shaped. By changing the type of tips you can get completely different looks.

Step 1. Draw a straight line and give it a curve near the tip.
Step 2. Draw a straight line (or it can have a bend that suits you).
Step 3: Add a few thin strands here and there.

Step 1. Draw two lines.
Step 2: Make additions that look like two ends or strands, then connect them.
Step 3: Add a few thinner strands of bangs to give it more variety.

V-shaped Hair. Eyes.
Hair can become a problem when it's covered important features character, especially the eyes. Although the following methods are not realistic, they are often used as alternatives.
Method 1.

Finish your bangs before they start to fall into your eyes. This is the most common technique commonly used.

Method 2.

Draw the eyes on top of the hair.

Method 3.

Draw the hair over the eyes, but make the outline of the eyes visible.

Messy bangs
Messy bangs... well... messy. They may or may not follow a specific pattern, and they are usually divided into parts that can point in completely different directions.
Guide Points Guide points (like the point in the Point and Guide Method) should help you keep your bangs under control.
Step 1. There are countless options, but it helps to try different bangs and hairstyles.

Drawing hair attached to the head above the forehead

The wedges on the hairline should be aligned along the line of symmetry of the face.

Remember that the hair is not glued to the head. They have volume even when pulled back.
Hair detailing isn't just about how many lines you add or the number of strands of bangs that allow you to convey a character's personality. Many details can be added through shadows and highlights.

How to draw an anime girl with a pencil.

Nowadays, many people treat anime as an art form. The most important difference characterizing this style– these are exaggerated features of the bodies of the main characters and creatures, namely: large eyes, lush (most often bright) hair and elongated limbs. Nevertheless, this style has won many hearts around the world and many want to learn how to draw anime. IN this lesson you will learn how to draw a schoolgirl, a girl in a swimsuit, a teenage girl and a girl in the style that many people love. After these lessons you will be able to draw Anime pencil drawings.

Before you start, be sure to read about pencil drawing tips.

So, let's get started.

Girl in anime style.

  1. Draw a sketch using geometric figures, but pay attention to the head - in order to maintain style, the head must be large. This is how young girls and children are portrayed in anime.
  2. Add shapes to your sketch to create body outlines
  3. Continue sketching out the girl's body using geometric shapes as shown in the example.
  4. Add hair, clothes and accessories
  5. Draw fine details using finer drawing tools
  6. Draw an outline around the drawing
  7. Erase sketches
  8. Color the finished drawing

Schoolgirl in anime style.

  1. Sketch the girl using straight lines and geometric shapes. First, draw a circle for the head. Add an angled shape at the bottom of the circle for the chin and jaw. Use short line for the neck. Draw a curved line from the neck down where the pelvis will be. Draw four pointed shapes for the chest and add lines for the limbs. Use triangles as a base for the arms.
  2. Use the sketch you drew as a basis for the girl's body. Add geometric shapes to the drawing, gradually drawing out the details. Pay attention to the proportions in the places where the joints are located. Add a crossing line from the face to the chest. This will help you maintain your body proportions in the future.
  3. Create a hairstyle for your character. On in this example shows a regular hairstyle, which is drawn very easily using slanting strokes. In addition, you can add a flower, a hairpin or any other accessory to the girl’s hair.
  4. Decide what your character will wear. Since we are drawing a schoolgirl, we won’t stray far from the standards; we’ll draw a standard jacket, shirt and skirt.
  5. Color the drawing. We advise you to choose neutral tones that go well together. Don't make the drawing too bright, otherwise it will be too obvious.

Girl in a swimsuit in anime style. (Anime pencil drawings)

  1. Sketch the girl using straight lines and geometric shapes. First, draw a circle for the head. Add an angled shape at the bottom of the circle for the chin and jaw. Use a short line for the neck. Draw a curved line from the neck down where the pelvis will be. Draw an inverted dome shape for the chest and add more lines for the limbs.
Taking into account that the character will be in a swimsuit, mark the place where the chest will be (use two teardrop-shaped figures for this). Mark the location of the navel.
  3. Sketch the eyes. Arrange them conditionally using crossed lines. Add small, arched strokes for the brows. Draw a corner for the nose and a curved line for the mouth.
  4. Decide on a hairstyle for your character. Use curved strokes if you want your hair to be wavy. Draw the ears in the shape of the letter “C”, so that they peek out from behind our heroine’s curls.
  5. Outline the contours of the body and come up with a swimsuit design. The standard solution is a swimsuit consisting of two halves.
  6. Emphasize details and erase sketches.
  7. Color the finished drawing.

Here are a few more options that can be used in this direction.

The concept of "anime" came from Japanese cartoons, but nowadays it is becoming more broad meaning. The word “anime” refers to cartoons, comics, characters, drawing techniques and much more. Fans of this style create groups in in social networks, on specialized forums they discuss how a person who has no artistic talent can learn to draw anime.

It is known that japanese cartoons anime are aimed at teenage and adult audiences.

Although anime arose relatively recently, namely at the beginning of the 20th century, certain laws have developed in drawing techniques that are closely related to the traditions of Japanese art.

The characteristic features of the visual in general, as well as cartoons and comics in particular, are the planar orientation and graphic nature of images.

To understand how to learn to draw anime without artistic skills, you need to think in general terms.

One of the main rules is sketchiness. have a round face, large eyes, small mouth and nose. There are diagrams on how to draw anime, namely: body parts, emotions, movements. All this is strictly regulated.

The second rule is planar orientation. An anime image should not be three-dimensional. clear outline, there are only falling shadows that do not create much volume.

Similar laws for depicting people have existed in traditional graphics and painting in Japan for many millennia.

Since anyone can learn to draw anime, all you need is desire.

Step-by-step instructions will tell you in detail how to learn to draw anime girls.

Start drawing anime with a pencil. Swipe smooth circle, divide it into four equal segments by vertical and horizontal lines. A vertical line will help draw the nose, and a horizontal line will help draw the lines of the eyes, eyebrows and lips. Divide the bottom half of the circle into four equal parts. The first is the eyebrow line, the second is the upper eyelash line, the third is the lower eyelash line.

Draw the chin. The distance between the bottom edge of the circle and the bottom of the chin should be equal to a quarter of the diameter of the circle. Schematically draw the eyebrows, eyes, lines of the mouth and nose.

Draw the ears. The top of each ear should be no higher midline eyes, and - end slightly above the line of the mouth. Draw the eye, highlighting the highlights. Use thin lines to highlight the upper eyelids.

Draw a neck of harmonious length. The top hairline should be slightly higher than the originally drawn circle. Use subtle touches to accentuate bangs and full, shoulder-length hair.

Use a pencil to draw strands of hair and a shadow under the chin.

Draw the entire image in detail. Highlight the eyes, leaving the highlights white.

You can color an anime drawn in pencil with watercolors or gouache. Once you've completely finished the anime in color, let it dry completely. Then draw along the pencil lines with black gel pen or rapidograph.

How can a person who has never picked up a pencil or brush learn to draw anime? Using traditional patterns for anime will not only make beautiful image, but also learn the basic laws of this style.

Japanese comics (manga) and cartoons (anime) are a huge layer of culture with its own traditions and rules. Anime characters are easily recognizable, and millions of fans of this genre visual arts scattered all over the world.

We will tell you how to draw manga and anime correctly and beautifully in a series of our lessons. In the first lesson we will start with the very basics of drawing.

Movement is life

Anime and manga are impossible without dynamics. Each episode is characterized by a certain event and a certain movement. When planning to draw your anime character, first of all think about what pose he should take in the drawing. Do not try to draw “from memory” or as you “see fit”. Manga is not only (and not always) big eyes, it is, first of all, a clear correspondence to the “real world”. You will definitely need examples. Take similar images from other works or use a large mirror in which to pose for yourself. Try it different angles, before starting the final sketch.

Basics of drawing. Creating a hero figure

As you may know from the lesson "", the height of a person is on average seven and a half of his "heads". Because anime heroes are still some kind of heroes, then their height, as a rule, is 8 or more “heads”. This way our heroes become more expressive. The remaining body proportions are identical to those of a human.

At the first stage of drawing, we create only a mannequin of our future character, which looks more like an articulated doll than another master of the elements.

From frame to overall structure

So, let's try to give more specific features to our character. For convenience, let's take the simplest pose. Mark the muscles and place small ovals at the joints. Please note that the wrists and the very bottom of the legs remain sticks. The torso is also not connected to the legs.

Finishing the contours

Now let’s finally form the contours of the body. Gently swipe lightly curved lines, completely forming the image of our hero. Smooth lines are extremely important. Any angles will create the effect of mechanicalness and unnaturalness.

Elastic band is our everything

Carefully wipe all auxiliary lines. As you can see, we have a man. If you want to portray a woman, then in addition to pronounced breasts, you should also make her more wide hips and more thin waist, giving an hourglass shape. According to manga canon, women have narrower shoulders and slimmer necks. Often, a woman’s legs are drawn in such a way as to further emphasize the hourglass shape.

So, wipe off all unnecessary parts. Feel free to clean up any rough edges. Our body is ready for detailing.

Posing

The “stick-stick-cucumber” approach that we used in general and in this lesson in particular is very convenient way for beginners to learn different poses and correctly draw their characters in the required position. Once you get comfortable with this hinge method, you can later draw characters without skipping this step. Practice drawing different positions of the characters by drawing, for example, figures like in the picture above.

In the following lessons we will continue to look step-by-step at the basics of drawing anime and manga.

Attach a piece of paper to the photo and translate it. Simplify your hair into patches, enlarge your eyes and add large highlights to your pupils. Anime portrait is ready. But this is enough if you want to know how to draw yourself in

You have read a description of the process of creating many cartoon characters. But the anime style has enough nuances and special details. Manga characters immediately catch your eye, and it is impossible to confuse them with any other regular cartoon characters. Learn this and drawing anime portraits will be easy for you.

Facial expression

Do you want to convey emotions, but don't know how? Drawing a face in anime style is one thing, conveying it is another. Emotions are drawn quite simply, one might even say, with symbols.

For example, pink lines on the cheeks show that the hero is embarrassed, a wide open mouth with a grin when talking - he is angry, two arcs instead of eyes - the eyes are closed, and, most likely, the character is experiencing pleasure.

However, without studying this “ABC”, you can easily guess state of mind hero. If the person in the portrait is smiling, look at how it is depicted in anime style and do the same.

Dynamics

It's easy to draw a head from the front. But it's boring and gets boring quickly. How to draw yourself in anime style so that your head is dynamic? Imagine that your head is a ball. Draw a line exactly in the middle where the eyes will be located. Now rotate this ball along with the line to change the angle of movement.

Draw lines for the nose and lips and then draw in the details of the face. The work should always be done by outlining the shapes. Draw it in detail - and it turns out that the result is not the movement that you would like.

Main mistakes

Anime in portraits obeys general rules. The nose, eyes, mouth, ears take their position on the head. If you can’t draw a regular head, it’s too early for you to think about how to draw a portrait in anime style. Mastery depends on experience.

Draw more sketches, practice. This helps in identifying errors and eventually correcting them. So, instead of opening a tutorial on how to draw an anime portrait every time, go through the list of common mistakes that you should be aware of and try to eliminate them.

Are the eyes evenly spaced along the line? Many beginning artists fail to draw identical eyes; they don’t know what to do with it or how. Drawing yourself in anime style isn't just about making your eyes the size of a galaxy. After you draw them, mark the extreme points below and above and draw lines through them. This will help you find out if the eyes are drawn evenly.

Is your chin centered between them? Draw a line down the center of your face between your eyes and make sure your chin is on that line. It should also cross the mouth and nose. In the center, third or fourth - it depends on the perspective in which the head is located.

Are the ears level with the eyes? The top point of the auricle is located at the level of the eyebrows. The earlobe is in line with the tip of the nose. But these are individual values, so there may be deviations from the given rules - take this into account.

Watch anime based on manga by different authors so you don’t have to worry about how to draw yourself in anime style. Explore different styles manga and enjoy watching it at the same time. Many otaku (avid anime fans), without studying the principles, make a good “anime” drawing the first time.
