How to install games on psp 1004. Installing PSP games (ISO, CSO, PSX)

In the age of developed information technology Not every owner of a portable gaming console from Sony will want to give their hard-earned money to purchase a game. Despite the rapid development of the gaming industry, game and application developers ask for astronomical amounts of money for their products, without giving the opportunity to even partially familiarize themselves with the capabilities of the game. However, owners of a portable console can do without purchasing a disc with the game.

On the original firmware of the gadget, it is impossible to directly launch the game directly from the memory card (when the disk is not in the device drive), but if you use the modified firmware, you will solve this problem.

Step 1: original firmware. To modify your console, you need to make sure that the original (official) firmware is installed on it, version 5.03. In this case, the version should not be lower than the specified one, otherwise you will need to install specifically 5.03, since early or later firmware versions do not support upgrading. The official operating system 5.03 is freely available on the official website of the developers. Connect PSP to PC. To do this, you will need the sync cable that came with the console. Open the memory card, then go to the address PSP - GAME. Open the UPDATE folder (if it doesn’t exist, create it manually). Unpack the previously downloaded archive.

Step 2: Install the official firmware. Open the extracted folder and copy the eboot.pbp file to the created UPDATE folder. Disconnect the console from your personal computer and go to the GAME - MEMORY CARD directory on the console itself. Scroll through the list of files until you find the firmware file from the developers. Launch it. Follow the brief instructions and wait until the installation of the official firmware is completed, after which the console should reboot.

Step 3: Firmware upgrade. Download the ChickHEN program. The archive with the program will contain a folder with the name of the consoles. You need to select the version of the console you are using. Run the file that has the extension .exe and reconnect the PSP to the computer. In the dialog box, you need to click the “OK” button and all the necessary files will be copied to the PSP memory card automatically. From the ChickHEN archive, you need to copy the ChickHEN mod 2 folder and move it to the Pictures folder, which is located on the console’s memory card. Next, go to the PSP menu and open photos. Scroll through the pictures until the console reboots. Next, download the modified GEN-C firmware and transfer it to the memory card at PSP - GAMES. You must launch the firmware from the GAME menu. The console will reboot.

Please note that rebooting the console may not start the first time. On average it takes about ten attempts, since it all depends on the model of your gadget.

Step 4: Games. This completes the modification of the portable console firmware. To download games, you just need to connect the PlayStation Portable to your personal computer and copy the games to the folder at PSP - GAME. Next, you need to disconnect the portable console from the PC and select the game you are interested in in the GAME menu and press the START button.

Instructions for installing ISO and CSO games for PSP:

You must have (GEN or M33) installed, preferably the latest version.

For GEN and M33 firmware
1. First, download in ISO or CSO format.
2. We remove the game itself (image) from the archive.
3. Drop the game into the X:/ISO/ folder in the root of the memory card. If there is no such folder, then we create it ourselves, or better yet, format the memory card via PSP, and all the folders will appear.
4. (Not a mandatory item, not required on all firmwares) We insert any disc with the game (you can also have a demo) into the UMD drive so that the game can play. You can also enable the Use NO-UMD (Configuration - Use NO-UMD) function in the RECOVERY menu; it does not work with all games, so if you have at least one disk, do not enable this mode.
5. Go to GAME - Memory Stick and there is your game. Press X and enjoy the game!

Instructions for installing PSX (games from PS1 console) games for PSP:

You must have (GEN or M33) installed, preferably the latest version.

For GEN and M33 firmware
1. First download.
2. Remove the folder with the game files from the archive.
3. Drop it into the X:/PSP/GAME/ folder in the root of the memory card. If there is no such folder, then we create it ourselves.
4. Go to GAME - Memory Stick and there is your game. Press X and enjoy the game!

POPSLoader:
Unfortunately, some games only run on 3.52 M33, and some only run on 3.71 M33. Therefore, we need to ensure that we can choose the necessary method to launch each PSX game.
To do this we need (already contains the ability to use the choice of PSX boot method from 3.52 and 3.72). After downloading, unpack the contents of the archive into the root (top) directory of your memory card. If asked about the need to replace files, agree.
Now we go to Recovery mode on the PSP (read how to do this in this article) and in the Plugins section, activate the popsloader plugin (Enabled should be written next to it). This will allow you to select the required kernel when launching a PSX game.

Copying PSX games to PSP:
You must unpack the archive with the game into the PSP/GAME folder of your memory card. As a result, the full path to the game should look like PSP/GAME/Game Name/EBOOT.PBP
The game is launched from the Memory Stick menu > Memory card

Selecting a PSX game download method:
Now, when downloading a game from our catalog, you should pay attention to the “Download Method” item. If this item only costs 3.52 POPS, then we need to use 3.52 firmware files to run this game. Fortunately, we don’t need to reflash it every time; POPSLoader will do all the dirty work for us.

How does POPSLoader work?
When you first launch each PSX game, you will be asked to select a launch method (only items 3.52 and Original from flash work. If the game requires 3.52, select item 3.52. If the game requires 3.72, select Original from flash. After the first launch, the system will remember your choice, and will no longer pester you with this question about this game.
If for some reason you want to change the loading method, simply hold down the right trigger (R Shift) while loading a PSX game and make the desired selection again.
If you don't see a choice of download method at all, it means you haven't activated the plugin (read above).

Useful tips:

* Perhaps the original size of the picture will seem too small to you, so you have the opportunity to stretch it to fill the entire screen by pressing HOME (after starting the game) and selecting the menu item Settings -> Screen Mode -> Full Screen
* As for the controls, you can also customize them as you wish using the Assign Buttons menu item.
* When playing multi-disc versions of PSX games, we have a new menu item - Change Disc. As a rule, it is inactive until the system prompts you to insert another disk.

Instructions

  • There are so-called emulators - these are programs that create a virtual device on your hard drive.

In other words, after installing this program, your computer will “think” that the PSP platform is connected to it. Download an emulator for PSP. You can find several similar programs on the Internet; in principle, they differ little from each other.

  • Next, you will need an image of the game you want to download to your computer. You can download it from the Internet. There are many resources that provide such content absolutely free.
  • Usually the images are archived. Therefore, first of all, unzip the required ISO or CSO file. After that, run the downloaded image through the emulator (to install the emulator you just need to follow the installation program). To do this, in the File tab, specify the path to the image with the downloaded game.
  • If you have the gaming platform itself, then to download games from the Internet onto it you will need CUSTOM firmware (games downloaded from the Internet will not be able to run on official firmware). Firmware can also be downloaded from the World Wide Web; on most sites they are freely available.
  • If you insert new map memory in a CUSTOM flashed PSP platform, you do not need to create an ISO folder yourself. To do this, simply format the card via the game console. After this, all the necessary folders will appear automatically.
  • Connect your console to your computer via USB input. Now simply copy the previously downloaded ISO or CSO image to your memory card. Folder path: X: /ISO/. Please note that you only need to copy the image itself to this folder, and not the folder where it is located after unzipping.
  • Tip added March 11, 2011 Tip 2: How to install a game on your computer Many people think that when installing a game, you just need to click the “Next” button. But this is not always correct, because installing a game on a computer also has its own nuances.

    Instructions

  • First, carefully read the system requirements of the game to see if it is suitable for installation on your computer.
  • If you answered "Yes", insert the disc into the DVD drive. After this, the computer should read the information from the disk and within a few seconds the game will autostart. Click the "Install" button. If the game does not autostart, go to My Computer and click on the disk drive icon with the game. This will open the installer menu window or start auto-installation.
  • Click Next. A window with a license agreement will appear. Select the item “I accept the terms of the agreement” and click on the “Next” button.
  • Then the “Select game installation folder” window will open, where you need to specify the game path. By default, the game is installed on drive C. And many do this, automatically clicking the “Next” button. However, installing games on local drive C is highly undesirable. Because subsequently your computer will begin to malfunction, slow down and even fail. Of course, you can simply select the “Change” menu item, but in this case, every time you install the game, the path to drive C will still appear. Therefore, in the game installation path we change the letter C to another drive (for example, D), and “Program Files” " delete and write "Games". This is what we get, for example, “D:\Games\name of the disc with the game.” Now feel free to click on the “Next” button.
  • And finally, click “Install” and wait for the installation to complete.
  • When the game installation is complete, a window will open informing you that the game has been successfully installed on your computer. And there may be one more nuance. For example, you may be prompted to install additional drivers for the game (such as DirectX). It is advisable to install them for the game to work properly.
  • Also, after completing the installation of the game, it would be a good idea to open the Readme.txt file, which is usually located in the game folder. As a rule, this file specifies additional steps that need to be taken to install the game, and additional information.
  • Now after installing the game and (if necessary) drivers, it is advisable to restart the computer. It’s clear that you can’t wait to start playing, but just have a little patience. All that remains is to launch the game and play with pleasure.

Method two: torrent trackers and portals

Of course, not every PSP owner will want to pay a huge sum for one game. Today, many advanced users of personal computers have learned to “hack” the factory firmware of gadgets, which allows them to use not only licensed, but also “pirated” games, removing all restrictions.

In such cases, you can download games to the PSP using a USB cable:

    • Insert the Memory Stick Duo into the Portable PlayStaton port and make sure you have free memory.
    • Connect your PSP to your personal computer using a USB or mini-USB cable.
    • Transfer the downloaded files to the GAME folder, which is located on your portable console.

Note: There are practically no differences between the first and second methods of downloading games. Home distinguishing feature is where exactly you will download applications for the portable console and how you will install and launch games on the gadget.
