How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. How to get to Hua Hin from Russia

So, how to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin on your own? Yes, very simple! We have already described how to do this in our blog “Winter in Thailand”, read the details below. Even our Russian friends (who don't speak English) managed it, so can you.

For starters, what are your options?

  1. Taxi directly from the airport to the center Hua Hin and for 2000-2500 baht (prices must be agreed in advance).
  2. From the airport by bus for 35 baht (or skytrain for 15 baht) we go to Victory Monument, go straight to the entrance of Century The Movie Plaza, change to a minibus and for 180 baht we get to Hua Hin.
  3. From the airport we take a free shuttle bus to the airport bus station (Airport Transport Terminal), from there we take bus number 551 for 32 baht to Victory Monument, and then, as at the 2nd point, to Hua Hin.
  4. From the airport we take a free shuttle bus to the airport transport terminal, from there we take bus number 556 for 35 baht to the South Bus Terminal(Sai Tai Mai terminal), buy a ticket for 160 baht and transfer to another bus to Hua Hin.
  5. From the airport we go to the railway station, take train tickets and drive for 4 to 6 hours, observing Thai landscapes. Romantic.
  6. Airfare from Suwanaphum to Hua Hin Airport 3,000 baht per person on a Cessna 208.

I'll tell you more about our second option.

We decided to travel to the city center on a budget. We went down to the lowest level of the airport, bought tickets for the Cityline skytrain line, tickets (not surprising, since we already read about it) cost 15 baht per person, and for Vasilisa (in general everywhere, by the way) free, because she was not yet 2 years old.

We arrived at Phaya Thai station, as shown in the diagram on the left, where we were met by Grigory Notchenko, who has been living in Bangkok for about a year. He took us to the guest house.

You need to head towards Victory Monument, but the buses do not depart from the Victory Monument itself, but from Century The Movie Plaza, and there are 2 different bus companies. The reference point is in the photo below.

Century - The Movie Plaza

You buy tickets there for 180 baht per person and go to Hua Hin. As it turned out in the end, there are two minibus stations nearby, with the same price - 180 baht/person. We went with a less crowded one, it’s worth moving 150 meters to the left from Century (if you look at the entrance), there are always fewer passengers there! By the way, buses to Pattaya depart from here, price 150 baht/person.

The minibus schedule is given below, as is the company telephone number; they run every half hour.

Minibus schedule

The benefit from a taxi ride on the road to Hua Hin or back (to Bangkok) from the taxi option is minimal (40 minutes maximum), as they write knowledgeable people. Because The minibus pushes along the highway just like cars. It doesn’t make many stops (we made 2 stops, one of them in Cha Am).

Minibus Bangkok - Hua Hin

The first option You can use it by contacting Konstantin Kozanchuk or pay for a taxi directly from the airport, only prices must be agreed in advance. Travel time is about 2.5 hours, the same as by minibus (only from Century The Movie Plaza, but you still need to get there).

If you go by 3rd option, then read how to find a shuttle bus below, then go from the Airport Transport Terminal by bus 551 (not to be confused with 556) to Victory Monument, and then read how to get to Hua Hin by minibus in the 2nd option!

Read more about 4th option:

Shuttle bus "ordinarybus" white runs from the airport to the Transport Terminal every 10 minutes. and free. It’s easy to find, go outside from the bottom tier and walk about 100 meters to the stop (to the left).

The shuttle bus gets to the airport's Transport Terminal in about 15 minutes. Next, from the Transport Terminal, look for bus 556, which goes to the South Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai terminal), because buses to Hua Hin depart from here.

Get to the South Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai terminal). From there, take a ticket to Hua Hin and go. Travel time is about 2.5 hours. Buses arrive at Hua Hin bus station at 98 soi.

Read more about 5th option:

6th option how to get to Hua Hin by plane:

There are several daily flights between Suvanapum Airport in Bangkok and Hua Hin. Operated by SGA airline together with Nok Air, (a subsidiary of ThaiAirways). A little less than an hour flight (Cessna 208 aircraft) costs about 3,000 baht one way.

I think now it won’t be difficult for you to get to Hua Hin! Join us!

Hua hin thailand how to get from Bangkok or Pattaya. Since we often had to travel around and even move, I will tell you all the ways to get to Hua Hin.

Since we lived in Pattaya for the first year and a half, and then moved to Hua Hin, we had to travel frequently between Pattaya, Bangkok and Hua Hin, so today I will tell you about all the methods I know and share some secrets.

The distance from Bangkok to Hua Hin is 180 km. The road is good and flies by unnoticed, but on Fridays half of the capital rushes to the sea and instead of 3 hours you can drive all 5!

From Pattaya to Hua Hin

Previously, everyone traveled by minibuses with a transfer at Victoria Monument, but now all the minibuses there have been removed and a direct service has been launched. Now there are 2 great ways:

  1. A boat trip costs 1,250 baht per person. Travel time is only 2 hours. Departs every day at 13.00 from the main pier.
  2. You can take a bus from the North Bus Station in Pattaya, it costs 470 baht per person. The journey takes about 5 hours. On Friday and weekends the journey can take more than 7 hours.

How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok

Bus

Bangkok Hua Hin buses depart from almost any bus station. Also, any bus that goes to Phuket will suit you, because it passes Hua Hin.

Please note that there are buses that depart from Coassan Road. For many this is the most convenient way, because almost everyone stays there overnight, but these tickets almost always need to be booked in advance because they sell out quickly.

The second important link is the famous Bell service, which carries you from airports. It is always better to order in advance; it is almost impossible to buy at the airport.

Buses leave from Mochit and Emakai bus stations every hour.

Some buses bring you to the bus station, and it is a few kilometers from the city, if you are brought there, then catch any minibus - it will take you

From the Northern Bus Station: one of the most inconvenient ways, because it is located far from the metro, in a completely non-tourist part of Bangkok. This is a completely typical bus station on the outskirts. They depart every hour, but due to the inconvenient location of the station, this method makes no sense. By the way, this is why I do not recommend the Hua Hin Bangkok Bus - it can take you to this bus station, from which you will only have to get out by taxi and it will take a lot of time.

I spent about 15 minutes looking for the right stand.

Another regular bus runs from Hua Hin; tickets are sold at Gate No. 8 on the ground floor. You can view the schedule and book seats in advance on their official website: http://airporthuahinbus.com/. It’s worth doing this, because I’ve never been able to drive away in it; it was always packed.

Bus ticket counter at the airport

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin - the most convenient way with children and suitcases

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin can be booked at any airport. Bangkok Hua Hin transfer price is 2500 baht from Suvarnabhumi Airport. You can order it on the ground floor, where there are several official taxi stands. For those who are traveling for the first time, I would like to note that these are not our private operators who are jacking up prices, but the official one, so it makes no difference whether you pay for the transfer directly at the airport or go to the city to catch another taxi.

Bangkok Hua Hin Train - the most romantic way

The Bangkok Hua Hin train costs only 100 baht and arrives at the most beautiful and ancient railway station in Thailand. In Hua Hin there is a royal railway platform, which was opened in 1911 and is still in operation. You will find it in any city guide. It really looks very original, there is a small museum of the king inside, and there is also one of the best coffee shops in the city, where very tasty brewed coffee costs only 70 baht. In addition, the station is located in the very center and you can easily reach guest houses, beaches and other hotels.

But there is also a big minus - the train from Bangkok Hua Hin takes a whole 5 hours, which is just a very long time, so we have never ridden it, but if you ask a Thai, then for them to come to the royal station is very honorable and they will choose this particular method. If you still decide, the Bangkok Hua Hin train departs from Hua Lampong Station; the schedule can be easily viewed on the station’s website

Minibus from Victoria Monument (no longer available - everyone has been dispersed)

For me, the most convenient way to get to Hua Hin is with minibuses from Victoria Monument. They cost 180 baht per person, the journey takes 2.5 - 3 hours.

Victoria Monument is a place where you can go anywhere in Thailand. There are hundreds of small companies with identical minibuses that come out of different gateways and garages every second, so there is an eternal traffic jam here. It’s quite difficult to find your way for the first time, since companies in certain areas are usually located in one place (but try to find it first).

I always sit near shopping center Century - The Movie Plaza, it's right next to the BTS station, so don't miss it. By the way, a small bonus: In this shopping center on the second floor there is a Pizzeria Buffet, this is when you pay 200 baht and can eat as much as you want. There, in addition to standard soups, appetizers and meat, they constantly bring you different pizza for 2 hours! Just don't go there at lunchtime, because... all the locals go there and free seats will be closed from 13.00 to 15.00, and free the rest of the time.

All minibuses have been removed, the method is no longer relevant

This shopping center has minibuses and delicious pizza inside.

By plane to Hua Hin Airport (the airport is closed to passenger aircraft)

Hua hin airport at the moment closed for regular flights, only military aircraft and a pilot training base remain there. Also, the king himself flies to it, because his active palace is located in Hau Hin and he rests there quite often. On ordinary life This does not affect the city; it can only be noticed by the reinforced police presence at the palace.

Moreover, at the moment the Thai authorities have no plans to develop this resort town, because... It is already overcrowded, so flights are unlikely to resume anytime soon.

From Hua Hin to Bangkok

In fact, all the methods described above work in the opposite direction, so I will only write the features and how to get to the bus stations.

Minibuses come from the center and arrive at bus stops in Bangkok. This is the fastest and most convenient way, but if you need to, then it is not very convenient. There are buses that go directly to the airport, they depart from the bus station, tickets can be bought online: https://airporthuahinbus.com/. Well, Bell service too. True, there is always a problem getting to this station, because it is far from the center, they say that there is a green tuk-tuk going there, but not always.

Allow 3-4 hours for the road, but if you travel during rush hours, then 5 hours.

Since distance from Bangkok to Hua Hin is 134 kilometers, and therefore the answer to the question is how to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin, can be considered always relevant. You can get there by various means of transport, with land, sea, and air types of travel expected.

By plane

There is an airfield in Hua Hin, but scheduled aircraft cannot land on the airfield's runway due to a number of objective reasons, including inappropriate runway parameters. Against all odds, small private jets can fly to Hua Hin. Can also be used charter flight, the travel time of which is half an hour. The price of a ticket under such circumstances may vary depending on the charter: ticket - 3-5 thousand baht (quite expensive).

Order a taxi

For those wishing to save money, ground transportation is provided transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin. In the best possible way preliminary will do. So, upon arrival, a taxi driver will already be waiting for you and your luggage, who will take you to the specified place.

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin- a useful service available right on site. The time will be about 3 hours comfortable and safe road to Hua Hin. If you prefer both, you shouldn't care how much it costs this type transport, especially for those who or big company. You can view the prices for the Bangkok - Hua Hin transfer on the widget below:

Hua Hin - a family resort

Hua Hin is a quiet and peaceful city that tourists choose to relax with children or to enjoy their holiday alone. Visitors have access to clean beaches, delicious dishes seafood, cozy bars and restaurants, and many attractions. The temples on the mountains Khao Sa Naam Chai and Khao Krilas are worth visiting. On Mount Khao Takiab there is a temple of the same name, where many wild monkeys live, and not far from it there is a seafood market. You can have an interesting evening by going to the Cicada Market night market, because this is where you can find unusual souvenirs. The Plearnwan retro market will also be a pleasant discovery for tourists: it is stylized to resemble the 50s of the twentieth century; in fact, the entire interior of the market accurately conveys the spirit of that time. And in the amusement park known as the “Elephant Village”, not only adults, but also children will enjoy it. Here you can play paintball, go on an ATV ride, ride horses and much more.
