For about six months, Alizee's debut single remained in the top ten in France in terms of sales, the total number of copies of the single sold was about 1.5 million. “Moi... Lolita” gained popularity outside of France: radio stations in Japan, Canada, Germany, and Russia played Alizee’s song. On November 17, 2000, at a ceremony held by the French television channel M6, Alizi received his first award in the “Discovery of the Year” category.
