What is the strength of Russian traditions. Interesting things in the world. Traditions and customs of the Russian people

Depending on the climatic and historical conditions of life in different peoples develop their characteristic national characteristics. The Germans, for example, have developed discipline, the British have primness, the French have courtliness, the Jews have resourcefulness, the Georgians have a quick temper, etc. The Russian people, who have gone through terrible trials and, despite everything, have preserved their identity, their faith, created great works of art, have developed unsurpassed and indestructible fortitude. What is this force based on and what feeds it? - the questions are very relevant. I'll try to answer them.
I'll start with the climatic conditions of life of our people. As Pushkin rightly noted, “our northern summer is a caricature of southern winters” and “six months of snow and snow.” Here you inevitably learn to endure severe frosts, stormy snowstorms, and long winter nights. The harsh climate, of course, contributes to the formation of such qualities as endurance, patience, and resistance to despondency, which in many ways characterize the Russian person.
They didn't spoil us either historical conditions. Pushkin, feeling natural pride in his people, wrote:
We redeemed with our blood
Europe freedom, honor and peace.
This was the case in the 12th century, and in the 18th, and in the 19th. Perhaps the Russian people endured the most terrible burden on their shoulders in the twentieth century, when they simultaneously experienced and withstood both the war with Hitler and the tyranny of Stalin. This is most likely what Blok foresaw when he wrote:
Which sorcerer do you want?
Give me the robber's beauty.
Let him lure and deceive,
You won't disappear, you won't perish...
No one and nothing managed to break us. Are there other examples of such power in world history? I don't know of such examples.
What helped us survive the most terrible global cataclysms? First of all, this is the Orthodox faith, which united all Russians into a common indestructible whole, in which not everyone stands for himself, but one for all and all for one. In addition, our faith has become an inexhaustible source of patriotic optimism and constant readiness to give our lives for a holy cause. It’s not for nothing that people say: “Even death is a blessing to the world.” No wonder such famous lines of Tyutchev were born:
She will become special -
You can only believe in Russia!
The belief that Russia is a country chosen by God for the salvation of the whole world has been confirmed more than once in our history, in the works of Russian philosophers, and in the works of Russian writers.
Speaking about what feeds the strength of the Russian people, we should highlight the fact that we have always had something to protect from our many enemies. How wonderfully Lermontov expressed this!
He could not appreciate our glory,
I couldn’t understand at this bloody moment,
WHAT did he raise his hand to!
This “what” implies not only the personality of Pushkin, but also everything that the brilliant poet expressed: his native expanses, and forests, and fields, and the people, and his history, and his faith, and his culture, and everything that it is so dear and sacred to us. Lermontov was ready to die for Pushkin, because Pushkin is our everything.
Today, unfortunately, we again have someone to protect ourselves from, but the main thing is that we have something to protect. Let us not forget that the strength of the Russian people lies in the unity of their faith, their culture and great history.

The key concepts of my theme are tradition and creativity. Let's turn to explanatory dictionary to understand what these words mean. In the dictionary of the Russian language by S. I. Ozhegov we read:

Tradition (custom)- many ideas, rituals, habits and skills of practical and social activities, passed on from generation to generation, acting as one of the regulators public relations.

Creation- that which relates to the properties, qualities of a person who has the ability to create artistic values.

Creative approach to any business is the ability to turn any practical or theoretical activity into an exciting, interesting process for other people. Be capable of a creative approach to any task.

Creative is a group of people working together whose activities are aimed at creating, preserving, and disseminating cultural values.

“Modern culture, with its constant reassessment of values, has led to the destruction of continuity between generations; a decline in the importance of family values. The direct influence of traditions on human actions is reduced. A person sees in another person not a unique and inimitable personality, but an object necessary to satisfy his needs, not a goal, but a means.”

I completely agree with the statement of Oksana Igorevna Ledovskaya, I want to add a few of my own observations.

The interest of the younger generation is directed towards themselves, the people around them - peers and people of the adult generation - are of no interest to them; teenagers are deaf to the grief of others and are alone in their own grief; their world is sometimes closed even to their parents. In my opinion, the loneliness of adolescents is directly related to the problem of destroying the continuity of generations and reducing the influence of traditions on human actions.

Society can talk as much as it wants about the continuity of generations, but empty talk is a waste of time.

I will give one more quote from the dissertation of O.I. Ledovskaya: “Without traditions, not only does not a single culture exist in the history of mankind, but without it it is impossible to even imagine the very existence of any human society. Self-identification of a person and communities is built on the basis of tradition, their cultural energy is accumulated in it, which contributes to further development. Tradition and cultural innovation are two interacting trends in cultural development, without respect for the harmony of which a basic cultural perspective is impossible. Only through understanding the structure of tradition and the functions of its individual components can one approach the disclosure of the phenomenon of its regulatory nature.”

It is sad to realize that such, at first glance, elementary things are not realized in modern society.

Understanding the cultural heritage of a people begins in childhood. Parents and schools are the main mentors of the younger generation in this area. Our government constantly reminds us of this. But sometimes parents themselves have to educate themselves in terms of culture. And this educational mission in modern world the school is called upon to implement.

At the school of which I am a representative, in addition to the Russian language, Japanese and English are studied in depth. But learning the language itself, in my opinion, should not be an end in itself. Language is one of the ways to comprehend the culture of another people and a person’s awareness of himself as the heir of this culture. And if there is one way, there must be others.

To immerse ourselves in the culture of the peoples of England and Japan, our school, in addition to lessons on the International Cultural Culture, History and Culture of Japan, etc., traditionally holds the “English Autumn”, “Russian Winter” and “Japanese Spring” festivals. As part of these festivals, teachers from various educational institutions hold competitions, meetings with native speakers, and concerts in which not only school students but also guests take part. All this, of course, has a beneficial effect on children’s mastery of the language and increases students’ interest in the language in particular and in the culture of other peoples. However, I am convinced that getting to know the holidays and traditions of the people is another way to learn about culture. Therefore, two years ago I decided to organize an event as part of the English Autumn festival, which would introduce students to the traditions of the English people. The goals were the following: to make the children take a fresh look at the lessons of studying Russian and English languages, biology and labor training lessons; make students feel the necessity and usefulness of each subject they study at school. And, of course, to interest them by introducing them to the traditions of the people, to teach them to appreciate the past, so that this past does not disappear, but, on the contrary, is revived. I am sure that once revived in one or two families, the tradition will not fade away. And also to show students that the traditions of peoples are similar, because the main values are the same everywhere.

So, the goals were set. All that remains is to implement our plans. My colleagues supported me. During the two weeks of preparation for the event, the children found a lot of interesting and educational material, most of which was included in the script for the “Apple Day” holiday.

The holiday began with the introduction of teams, which could be done in both Russian and English or Japanese. Representatives of the teams competed in reciting poetry, sometimes own composition dedicated to the apple, in the speed of eating apples and in culinary arts. Everyone had the opportunity to show their creative abilities.

It turned out really great. Moreover, participation in the preparation of the event and directly in the holiday itself helped some classes become a truly friendly school team. This happened because the kids were captivated by the interesting work they were doing together and taught them to be more attentive to their classmates, taught them to listen to other people’s opinions, and sometimes look for compromise solutions in order for the class team to get high scores. Of course, traditionally there were few winners, but the main thing was something else - joint creativity, the desire to learn as much as possible from history and skillfully and carefully apply the experience of the past in modern life. And although “Apple Day” is a relatively young tradition, it is part of the culture that will undoubtedly be preserved by our children.

A creative approach to business turned cognitive activity into exciting, interesting process. The enthusiasm and creativity of the team of teachers and students led to the appearance of another tradition in our school, which the children (I know for sure) told their parents about. And tradition and creativity are the very source of culture.
I told how at school you can introduce children to the culture of other peoples in order to clearly show them the need to study languages and secondary subjects, as they are called. Most of all, I am a representative of the Russian people and, as a teacher of Russian literature, I pay attention to the propaganda of our Russian traditions. And I introduce the guys to the Russians folk holidays, which help me not only explain to children all the beauty and richness of the traditions of the Russian people, but also solve the educational and educational problems of today's difficult times related to the continuity of generations.

List of used literature:
1. Ledovskaya, O. V. The role of traditions in modern culture: PhD dissertation. Philosopher Sci. - Stavropol, 2006. - 151 p.

The Savior once said about Christians: “If you were of this world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of this world, because I took you out of the world, the world hates you.” These same words can also be applied to the Russian people, into whose flesh and blood Christianity was most deeply absorbed.

Today we are often faced with open Russophobia and hatred from other states. But this is not a reason to panic, it did not start today and will not end tomorrow - it will always be like this.

The world hates us, but it itself does not suspect how much he himself needs the Russian people. If the Russian people disappear, then from the world soul taken out and he will lose the very meaning of his existence!

That is why the Lord protects us and Russians exist, despite all the tragedies and trials: Napoleon, Batu and Hitler, revolution, perestroika and time of troubles, drugs, moral decline and a crisis of responsibility...

We will live and develop as long as we ourselves remain relevant, as long as the Russian people retain the character traits inherent in our people.

Caring “friends” often remind us of those characteristics inherent in us that can be classified as bad, trying to make us hate ourselves and self-destruct... We will look at the positive characteristics of the Russian soul in order to remember what gifts the Lord has generously endowed us with and what we should always stay.

So, TOP 10 best qualities Russian person:

1. Strong faith

The Russian people believe in God at a deep level and have a strong inner feeling conscience, the concept of good and evil, worthy and unworthy, due and not due. Even the communists believed in their “Moral Code.”

It is the Russian person who views his entire life from the perspective son of GodThe Father will like it or it will upset him. To act according to the law or according to conscience (according to the commandments of God) is a purely Russian problem.

A Russian person also believes in people, constantly doing good to them and even beyond that. sacrificing personal for the good of one's neighbor. A Russian person sees in another person first of all Image of God, sees equal, recognizes the dignity of another person. This is precisely the secret of the victorious power of Russian civilization, our gigantic spaces and multinational unity.

Russian people believe in themselves as the bearer of Truth. Hence the strength of our actions and the legendary Russian survival. Not a single conqueror in the world could destroy us. Only we ourselves can kill the Russian people if we believe in the negative image of the Russian people that is being imposed on us.

2. Heightened sense justice

We cannot live in comfort while lies are rampant in the world. “We’ll put together a strong coffin for the scum of humanity!” from the song “Holy War” - it’s about us.

For a long time we fought with the Turks for the freedom of our Slavic brothers, we saved the poor from the bais and their extortions Central Asia, stopped the genocide of the Chinese by the Japanese army and saved the Jews from the Holocaust.

As soon as a Russian person believes that a threat to all of humanity comes from somewhere, Napoleon, Hitler, Mamai or anyone else immediately disappears from the historical canvas.

The same rule applies in inner life- our riots and revolutions are just attempts to build a fair society, punish those who have gone too far and alleviate the lot of the poor (naturally, if we consider the motivation of ordinary workers and peasants, and not the cynical leaders of the revolution).

You can rely on us - because we keep our word and do not betray our allies. The concept of honor, unlike the Anglo-Saxons, is not only familiar to Russian people, but also deeply inherent.

3. Love for the Motherland

All peoples love their homeland. Even Americans, a people of emigrants, treat their national symbols and traditions.

But a Russian person loves his homeland more than others! White emigrants fled the country under threat of death. It would seem that they should have hated Russia and quickly assimilated where they came. But what really happened?

They were so nostalgic that they taught their sons and grandchildren the Russian language, they were so homesick that they created thousands of little Russias around them - they founded Russian institutes and seminaries, built Orthodox churches, taught Russian culture and language to thousands of Brazilians, Moroccans, Americans, French, Germans, Chinese...

They died not from old age, but from longing for their Fatherland and cried when the USSR authorities allowed them to return. They infected those around them with their love, and today Spaniards and Danes, Syrians and Greeks, Vietnamese, Filipinos and Africans come to live in Russia.

4. Unique generosity

Russian people are generous and generous in everything: material gifts, wonderful ideas, and expressions of feelings.

The word “generosity” in ancient times meant mercy, mercy. This quality is deeply rooted in the Russian character.

It is completely unnatural for a Russian person to spend 5% or 2% of his salary on charity. If a friend is in trouble, then the Russian will not bargain and gain something for himself, he will give his friend all the cash, and if it is not enough, he will throw his hat around or take off and sell his last shirt for him.

Half of the inventions in the world were made by Russian “Kulibins”, and patented by cunning foreigners. But Russians are not offended by this, since their ideas are also generosity, a gift from our people to humanity.

The Russian soul does not accept half measures and knows no prejudices. If in Russia someone was once called a friend, then they will die for him, if he is an enemy, then he will certainly be destroyed. At the same time, it doesn’t matter at all who our counterpart is, what race, nation, religion, age or gender he is - the attitude towards him will depend only on his personal qualities.

5. Incredible hard work

“The Russians are very lazy people,” Goebbels’ propagandists preached and their followers today continue to repeat. But that's not true.

We are often compared to bears, and this comparison is very apt - we have similar biological rhythms: summer in Russia is short and we have to work hard to have time to harvest, and winter is long and relatively idle - chop wood, heat the stove, remove snow, and collect crafts . In fact, we work a lot, just unevenly.

Russian people have always worked diligently and conscientiously. In our fairy tales and proverbs positive image The hero is inextricably linked with skill, hard work and ingenuity: “The sun paints the earth, but labor paints man.”

Since ancient times, labor has been famous and revered among peasants and artisans, scribes and merchants, warriors and monks, and has always been deeply linked to the cause of defending the Fatherland and increasing its glory.

6. The ability to see and appreciate beauty

The Russian people live in extremely picturesque places. In our country you can find large rivers and steppes, mountains and seas, tropical forests and tundra, taiga and deserts. Therefore, the sense of beauty is heightened in the Russian soul.

Russian culture was formed over a thousand years, absorbing parts of the cultures of many Slavic and Finno-Ugric tribes, as well as accepting and creatively processing the heritage of Byzantium and the Golden Horde and hundreds of small nations. Therefore, in terms of richness of content, it cannot be compared with no other culture in the world.

The awareness of the immensity of his own wealth, material and spiritual, made the Russian person friendly and understanding towards other peoples of the Earth.

A Russian person, like no one else, is able to highlight the beauty in the culture of another people, admire it and recognize the greatness of achievements. For him there are no backward or underdeveloped peoples, he has no need to treat anyone with disdain out of awareness of his own inferiority. Even from the Papuans and Indians, Russians will always find something to learn.

7. Hospitality

This national character trait is associated with our vast spaces, where it was rare to meet a person on the road. Hence the joy from such meetings - intense and sincere.

If a guest comes to a Russian person, a laid table, the best dishes, festive food and a warm overnight stay await him. And all this is done free of charge, since it is not customary for us to see in a person only a “wallet with ears” and treat him as a consumer.

Our man knows that a guest in the house should not be bored. Therefore, a foreigner who comes to us, when leaving, can hardly put together the memories of how they sang, danced, rode, fed him to the fullest and watered him to amazement...

8. Patience

The Russian people are amazingly patient. But this patience is not reduced to banal passivity or “slavery”; it is intertwined with sacrifice. Russian people are by no means stupid and always endure in the name of something, in the name of a meaningful goal.

If he realizes that he is being deceived, a rebellion begins - the same merciless revolt in the flames of which all the moneylenders and careless managers perish.

But when a Russian person knows for what purpose he endures difficulties and works hard, then national patience gives incredible positive results. For us to cut down an entire fleet in five years and win world war or industrialization is the order of the day.

Russian patience is also a kind of strategy for non-aggressive interaction with the world, solutions life problems not through violence against nature and consumption of its resources, but mainly through internal, spiritual efforts. We do not plunder the property given to us by God, but slightly moderate our appetites.

9. Sincerity

Another of the main features of the Russian character is sincerity in the manifestation of feelings.

A Russian person is bad at forcing a smile, he does not like pretense and ritual politeness, he gets irritated by insincere “thank you for your purchase, come again” and does not shake hands with a person whom he considers a scoundrel, even if this could bring benefits.

If a person doesn’t evoke emotions in you, then you don’t need to express anything - just walk in without stopping. Acting in Russia is not held in high esteem (unless it is a profession) and those who are most respected are those who speak and act as they think and feel as God put it on my soul.

10. Collectivism, conciliarity

A Russian person is not a loner. He loves and knows how to live in society, which is reflected in the sayings: “in peace and death is red,” “alone in the field is not a warrior.”

Since ancient times, nature itself, with its severity, has encouraged Russians to unite into groups - communities, artels, partnerships, squads and brotherhoods.

Hence the “imperialism” of Russians, that is, their indifference to the fate of a relative, neighbor, friend and, ultimately, the entire Fatherland. It was because of conciliarism that for a long time there were no homeless children in Rus' - orphans were always sorted into families and raised by the entire village.

Russian conciliarity, according to the definition of the Slavophile Khomyakov, is “a holistic combination of freedom and unity of many people based on their common love for the same absolute values,” Christian values.

The West was unable to create such a powerful state as Russia, united on spiritual principles, because it did not achieve conciliarity, and to unite peoples it was forced to use, first of all, violence.

Russia has always been united on the basis of mutual respect and mutual consideration of interests. The unity of the people in peace, love and mutual assistance has always been one of basic values Russian people.

Andrey Szegeda

The question of where the Russians' strength lies is quite often discussed in various circles. Some say that Russians do not have any special power and all attempts to talk about it are simply a desire to amuse their national pride. But other people do not agree with this point of view; they think that the Russian people are unique, they have their own strength and charisma, which are often incomprehensible to their Western neighbors. We will join the second group and find out where the strength of the Russian spirit lies.

The uniqueness of the Russian people is recognized not only by ourselves, the bearers of our nation, but also by foreigners, many of whom find it difficult to understand the mystery of the Russian soul. The originality of Russians is recognized all over the world, so let's try to find out what the strength of Russians is, how the Russian people differ from others and attract attention.

The power of the Russian people

Every nation has its own typical national traits, the Russians also have them. This is precisely where the strength of the Russian people lies. Let's talk about what these qualities are.

The first quality is hard work and talent. Many Russian people are gifted individuals, we have a lot of talents, some of them are lured to the West. We have a rich cultural heritage and many eminent scientists in various fields. A Russian person is a good worker, especially if he likes his work and if he needs to take care of his family. A Russian person can get used to any working conditions, is unpretentious and ready to work.

The second quality is love of freedom. Remember how many times different enemies tried to take over our country! No one has managed to do this; Russia stands firmly on its own two feet, not allowing anyone to take away its right to freedom. And in many ways this is the merit of our people, because the Russian people are patriotic and even hard times ready to defend my homeland. The brightest one An example is participation in world wars, and not only in them. The willpower, courage, perseverance and courage of the Russian people are directly related to this quality, and it is really difficult to argue with this!

The next quality is patience, and with it the ability to adapt, which allows Russians to survive. The Russian people are indeed very patient, they are ready to stoically endure the difficulties of life, trying not to lose heart and even in the most difficult times to find a reason for joy and a smile. It's no secret that life in Russia is difficult, many people are below the poverty line, the economy and social sphere- not on the best level, the climate is harsh. Living in such conditions is difficult, but the Russian people, thanks to their patience and perseverance, do not give up and fight for their place in the sun.

Kindness, hospitality, generosity of soul - these qualities are well known to many foreigners who come to our country to stay. Who else but a Russian grandmother will feed a traveler deliciously and give him an overnight stay completely disinterestedly? And if you “break down” on the highway, one of the Russian drivers will definitely stop and try to help. You can find many such examples; Russians are really kind and sociable people, if you find an approach to them and treat them favorably. Many people think that Russians are gloomy, because that’s how we walk the streets. But judge for yourself, who wants to smile a lot after a long study or work in the evening on the street, when it’s dark, cold and tired? But once you talk to a Russian person, you will understand that he is quite good-natured and is even ready to help if his help is needed. Of course, not everyone is like that, but still in the majority of us it is precisely good people.

And finally, another quality of Russians is religiosity. Orthodoxy has sprouted strong roots in the Russian nationality; spiritual morality and purity, the desire for the best among Russian people come from God. We are now talking about those people who live according to the laws of God, who are humble, meek, benevolent and kind-hearted.

The power of the Russian word

Speaking about the power of the Russian people, one cannot help but talk about the power of the Russian word. The Russian language is multifaceted and rich; it has evolved and been enriched over the centuries, and this is still happening. The power of the Russian word lies in the fact that with its help you can ignite hope and love in the hearts of people, the desire to strive for the best, and unite the people. The Russian language has many such words and expressions that can greatly affect a person in different situations. An example of the power of the Russian word is the speeches of commanders that they delivered to their soldiers before important battles. The power of the Russian word energized the soldiers, they went to war and won.

The power of Russian weapons

Main strength weapons in Russia are the people themselves, because for their Motherland they are ready to fight with enemies with their bare hands, without giving it to anyone. If we talk about weapons as a means of struggle, then Russia is not losing here either. Today our country is rich various types weapons, and this is not surprising, because rich military experience and constant control over the inviolability of borders directly influence this. In addition, the development of weapons production in Russia does not stand still; different technologies, new and varied weapons are created and accumulated. Just remember the “Katyusha” of the Great Patriotic War! The Germans were horrified by the damaging effect of this weapon, called cute female name.

Russian evil spirits

Russian evil spirits are another example of Russian originality. Those whose grandmothers told fairy tales and legends related to Russian evil spirits in childhood know well what we are talking about. The folklore of our people is built on Russian evil spirits, and this is a very rich and valuable part of Russian culture. Many have heard about green-haired and sweet-voiced mermaids who live in rivers and seas, about the goblin guarding the forest, about the merman watching over reservoirs, about the bathhouse attendant, kikimoras... and there is no need to talk about the brownie, many believe in him in our time !

The strength of the Russian spirit manifests itself in various facets and in different areas, but we only talked about a few. But even by studying this small material, you can understand the strength and originality of the Russian people.
