Even more entertainment awaited the guests of the holiday on the site in front of the Moscow Hotel (the intersection of Okhotny Ryad and Mokhovaya streets with Tverskaya).

Konstantin Melnikov is the author of the idea for the entrance group of the park: according to his plan, the park began with the arch of the main entrance, behind it there was a garden, flower beds and a large fountain. Melnikov's embodied ideas made the Park a model of urban spaces throughout the country in the 1930s. The image of an ideal vacation spot is carefully preserved by the park's management, and now, 90 years later, it influences how the park lives: in recent years, the park has become a platform for experiments, a place for the implementation of bold architectural projects, and the most advanced park in Russia.

This year the Metro On Stage festival turns 10, so on September 8, the brightest finalists of the competition - Alessiee, Margosha, Time Square, Hardballs, Hell Bruzies, Becomung a Hero, PRAVDA and others - will rock the stage of Izmailovsky Park. On September 8 and 9, free admission to all exhibitions of the Museum-Reserve (Palace and Exhibition and Orangery complexes) was established for all categories of citizens.

PARK KOLOMENSKOYE

Every year, on Moscow City Day, concerts, festivals, master classes, exhibitions-fairs and much more are held in all territories of the museum-reserve (Kolomenskoye, Izmailovo, Lyublino).
The central event in Kolomenskoye will be the folk festivities on Voznesenskaya Square (Kolomenskaya metro station) on September 8. According to tradition, the holiday opens with the performance of the Moscow Anthem at 13:00. Next, viewers will enjoy the bright program “You have no equal in the world!” (“You have no equal in the world, ancient Moscow...” V.V. Bryusov). Professional musical groups will perform favorite Soviet songs and classical works.

Next to the stage on Ascension Square there will be a “Town of Craftsmen” - free master classes and classes in folk crafts, in which anyone can take part. The program will be of interest to people of all ages and families with children.

In the ancient Kazan apple orchard, at the intersection of the Main and Linden alleys, from 13:00 to 17:00, the children's playground “Apple Noon” will be open. The holiday was prepared jointly with the Association of Historical Gardens and Parks. The event will be held simultaneously in two museum reserves - in Moscow in Kolomenskoye and in Tsarskoye Selo near St. Petersburg. Participants of the master classes will present their works on the decorated area; everyone will be able to leave a chalk drawing on the asphalt, and also draw coloring pictures together with the kids. A “Wish Tree” will also be installed here, on which you can hang an apple you made yourself with your cherished dream. The playground is designed for children of all ages and their parents.

Also, Moscow residents and guests of the capital will be able to attend concert programs on the territory of Izmailovo - “I love you, Moscow” and on the territory of Lyublino - “Moscow for all times!”, which will be held on September 8, 2018 from 14:00 to 16:00.

If a non-working holiday coincides with a day off, the day off is transferred to the next working day after the holiday. The scheme for the transfer of holidays in 2020 submitted for approval is shown in the calendar - there are only two such transfers:
light purple arrow - from January 5 (Saturday) to May 5 (Monday);
light blue - from January 7 (Sunday) to May 2 (Wednesday)

Victory Day is celebrated annually on a grand scale, especially in Moscow, but at the same time there are certain changes in the operation of surface and underground transport. Knowledge of the schedule and the peculiarities of the operation of the capital's metro on a holiday will help Muscovites and guests of the city to properly think through their route, not be late and attend the most exciting events on May 9, 2018.

How the metro works on May 9, 2018: features of the metro in Moscow during the holiday

To ensure the safety of underground transport passengers, the metro management regulates the load at stations every year and limits entrances and exits to certain days. During the rehearsal for the Victory Parade on May 6, Muscovites already felt these changes and those who did not take into account the change in the operating mode of the stations did not get to the right place on time.

On May 9, from 7 a.m. until the very end of the parade, metro stations “Alexandrovsky Sad” and “Teatralnaya”, “Borovitskaya” and “Biblioteka im. Lenin", "Revolution Square" and "Okhotny Ryad" will be open only for entry and movement between stations. It will not be possible to get off at these stations within the specified time period.

Throughout the day at the Park Pobedy station, vestibule No. 1 on the odd side of Kutuzovsky Prospekt, towards Victory Park, will only let metro passengers out, and vestibule No. 2 will operate exclusively as an entrance.

Metro users need to remember that on Victory Day, exits from the stations “Pushkinskaya”, “Mayakovskaya”, “Tverskaya”, “Chekhovskaya” will be limited; from the “Kitay-Gorod” station it will not be possible to exit towards Kitaigorodsky Proezd, Ilyinka and Varvarka streets, and it will be impossible to get to Nikolskaya Street from Lubyanka.

After all the festive events have been carried out, in order to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers in the metro and to avoid traumatic crowds, according to information from the Moscow Metro, access to the following stations will be limited:

On Victory Day, the Moscow metro will operate as usual until one in the morning.

How the metro works on May 9, 2018: receiving holiday symbols in the metro and holding photo exhibitions

Moscow metro workers did not stand aside in organizing the holiday Great Victory. Subway passengers can expect themed events dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of Victory Day. There will be “Live Communication” stands, where St. George ribbons and more than 30 thousand flags and badges with the corresponding symbols will be distributed free of charge to everyone.

At the Park Pobedy station, from May 8 to 12, there will be a photo exhibition organized by the Memory of Generations Foundation, with an exhibition of photographs entitled “Heroes of Russia, as no one has seen them.” Another exhibition historical photographs“Metro during the War Years” will be located at the transition between Leninsky Prospekt and Ploshchad Gagarin stations from May 9 to 13.

How the metro works on May 9, 2018: a musical concert in the metro and the release of commemorative tickets

Department strategic development and the client work of the Moscow metro also took care of music lovers, the site reports. At the Taganskaya metro station, a cadet class orchestra from one of the Moscow schools will perform patriotic songs. Wartime music will immerse passengers in a festive atmosphere and make the trip underground another memorable event on this day.

As an annual tradition, thematic travel documents will be issued. According to information from the Moscow government portal, on the front side of the card in red there will be the inscription “May 9”, and on the back the word “Remember”. Sales of commemorative metro tickets for one, two, 20 and 40 trips will begin directly on Victory Day.

Victory Day will be celebrated everywhere in Moscow, including underground. Knowing the main places of celebration and focusing on the peculiarities of the metro on this day, guests of the capital and Muscovites will be able to be in time everywhere and have a great time on May 9th.
