The Czech team of artists and production director brilliantly coped with the task of realizing subtle, harmonious and minimalistic Japanese taste. Every scene is impeccably balanced artistic composition by the relationship between colors, shapes and meaning that they carry. If the play didn't have Puccini's grandiose music and talented vocal performance, the organization of space itself, the costumes of the characters, the movements of scenery objects on the stage, ideally calibrated in terms of the speed and time of their appearance, would alone be capable of charm and immerse in the subtle world of feng shui art. I would especially like to note the scenes of the arrival of the boats with the bride in the first act and a quietly gliding boat - there is no doubt that on the water (!)- at the conclusion of the second act.
Played the title role Victoria Yastrebova and she was absolutely incomparable! Great acting, accurately conveying gestures and movements fragile, young, silent, tender and loving Japanese girl . And the singer expresses the same thing in her voice, in a surprisingly reverent singing! Don't doubt her for a second sincerity. How many compassion, tenderness this heroine calls! And it’s absolutely stunning integrity, purity and fortitude.
From the impression that remains after the performance, we can say that this is not just a performance, but some kind of religious-mystical symbolic drama, mystery. Plunging into her, deeply you are imbued with subtle spiritual trepidation, the energy of a whole spirit, and you leave the theater with a feeling of fullness, renewal and cleansing.
In addition, the plot of the play (those who wish can read it on the Internet) interesting from historical, cultural and political point of view. So, main character American Pinkerton (in a wonderful performance Dmitry Voropaev) embodies the aggressive, predatory spirit of the Western world. One of his remarks is very eloquent: “After all, life would be insignificant if you didn’t pick flowers wherever possible.”. And fragile, meek, full of heartfelt tenderness, Madame Butterfly, embodies the natural, not yet “civilized” world, and, wanting to please the American, renounces her own faith, which leads to a break with her relatives and, as if between the lines, with herself , blocking all the ways back. But nevertheless, closeness to nature and primordial religion nurtured in her integrity and courageous spirit, which was expressed in the heroine’s last dying remark: "He who cannot live with honor must die with honor" .

›The Fusion Point team was created by pianist and composer Kirill Sokirko in 2009. The project was conceived as an instrumental chamber group that continues the tradition of performing in a trio format and performs original music. The composition of the instruments was very common in the jazz environment - piano, bass guitar, drums. The first concerts were held with this lineup. Listeners noted the impact classical music on the material being performed, since musical form took precedence over the improvisation that is characteristic of jazz. In 2011, after a series of concerts on the club stages of St. Petersburg, Fusion Point takes part in international festivals in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. Fusion Point also participates in programs together with the chamber choir of the Smolny Cathedral as a guest group, and at the beginning of 2012 the group’s debut album, “Morning Rain,” was released. The album is received positively by critics, mostly abroad. This same year, the first extensive solo concert of Fusion Point took place, which was recorded in DVD format.
In 2013, Fusion Point began performing with guest musicians and recording a second disc, “Mind and Illusion.” At the same time, Roman Zastavny (double bass) joined the band.
The trio begins cooperation with the Mariinsky Theater. New programs are being implemented in the chamber halls of the new stage (Mariinsky-2), and subscription concerts are being successfully held. In 2015, the musicians began work on the album “Circles of Time,” their third studio release, scheduled for release in 2017. Together with studio work, the team is actively conducting experiments in the direction of synthesis of arts. For example, the idea of a special program was born, where musical material poems by 20th century poets were included - this became a successful combination of poetry and music.
The group's repertoire reflects various jazz and modern musical styles. Despite the multi-style compositions, some critics note that the sound of Fusion Point can be attributed to such a direction as modern jazz.
