Choral singing is an active form of musical activity, which includes all the most important psychophysiological systems of a person, which determines the enormous potential of this type of art in the process of developing a person’s personal qualities. It can and should solve important and urgent problems of artistic aesthetic education the younger generation.

"Efficiency educational role choral music, as well as the direction and nature of its social impact seem to be the most important criteria that determine the social significance of choral art and its place in the system of spiritual and cultural values.”

N.I. Scriabin

To find yourself in a choir, it is not at all necessary to have outstanding singing abilities by nature - many choirmasters are convinced that almost any person can be taught to sing (of course, if he is not deaf and dumb), if only he had the desire...

What is a choir, and what is not a choir, but can only be called a collection of singers? What is choral sonority, and what is just the sound of human voices? Why does one group sing great and the other sing mediocre?

In Vladimir Dahl's explanatory dictionary, a choir is defined as a meeting of singers for consonant singing. A gathering of a certain circle of musicians for collective music. There is a women's choir, a men's choir and a mixed choir. Khorishcha - three hundred votes. Choral singing is defined in Dahl's dictionary as friendly and collaborative.

Thus, a choir is a kind of collection of singing people, the ideal sonority of which is achieved through ensemble unity with a precise structure and artistically developed nuances.

The choir is a special “unit of society”, like big family, where everyone, having their own unique voice, contributes a piece to the creation of overall harmony. The choir teaches you to know yourself and feel those around you. It is no coincidence that singing in a choir is so widespread. In the choir, people’s voices merge, giving rise to a feeling of agreement on the main thing, dissolving minor disagreements that arise in life.

This sense of community creates an atmosphere of creativity and cooperation, and the ability to work as a team.
Singing in a choir develops creative abilities in any area of life, which are vital for everyone.

It is no coincidence that many successful people sang in choirs as children.
Doctors say that children who sing in a choir get sick much less often; in addition, singing relieves stress and allows a person to relax.

Teachers say that singing develops speech proficiency, eliminates problems in speech therapy, and helps the study of mathematics and foreign languages.
singing in a choir is cultural leisure, aesthetic development, unleashing creative abilities in any area of life is an important part healthy image life.

“The voice in Russia is the main musical instrument, so all musical education is connected with this instrument, which is accessible to everyone. Everyone has this instrument, you don’t have to buy a piano specially, you don’t have to go get a violin - you have everything with you, and in Russia they have always understood that it is through this instrument, through the voice, that all education comes.”

Choral singing unites people, gives them spiritual uplift and a feeling of fraternal harmony, when voices merge in unison or complex harmonic chords, a person feels that he is not alone, that all people are brothers, that kinship with the entire universe is not empty words.

“In the most pathetic episodes of the development of this or that people, nation, the whole human culture in general, the a cappella choir comes first,” says Yuri Anatolyevich Evgrafov, professor at the Moscow Conservatory.

Sorrow and grief, joy and hope, faith and happiness pour out from human soul, finding a way out in choral singing.
The choir is like an instrument with many voices, it can express the barely audible echo of human experiences, the exultation of victory or the greatness of the immortal human soul.

“The choir is a prototype of an ideal society based on a single aspiration and harmonious breathing, a society in which it is important to hear the other, to listen to each other, a society in which individuality is not suppressed, but is fully revealed.”
Georgy Alexandrovich Struve

Boris Tarakanov is a thousand times right with his motto: “A person who sang in a choir will never be completely unhappy.”

Musical art arose in ancient times. It is known that even at dawn human history Stone Age people made their first primitive musical instruments that have survived to this day: beaters, various pipes from sea shells or bones and animal horns. At the same time, people composed their first songs, performed simultaneously with body movements during various ritual actions. There was a lot of onomatopoeia in the music of ancient people. In their songs, primitive people sought to convey the sounds of the surrounding world - the cries of birds and wild animals. Gradually people learned to select from huge amount sounds are the most musical, we have learned to recognize their difference in height and their relationship.

In the era of Antiquity, the highest stage of development of society and its culture was represented by the state of Ancient Greece, which at that time consisted of many small city-states (polises), which retained independence in political, cultural and legal matters. Music occupied a large place in the social life of the Greeks. Music education was an integral part of the general civic education of youth. Singing and playing musical instruments were included in the program of sports and artistic (music) competitions. There were even associations of singers, musicians and dancers, called collegia. The most significant achievements in music belong to Homer and classical periods development of ancient Greek culture (from the 12th to the 5th centuries BC). The main types and genres of art are being formed. The basic terms that we habitually use when talking about music arose: modes, harmony and melody, rhythm and meter, choir and orchestra, rhapsody and symphony. Even the word “music” itself is of Greek origin.

Choral singing has existed in Russia for a long time as a part of life. People sang in moments of rest and at work, during celebrations everyone sang in a huge choir, even kings sang in the choir. All of Russia sang, workers and scientists sang, they sang in factories and factories, in universities and palaces, in cities and villages, they sang everywhere.

“Driving through Russia, I was surprised by the musicality local residents and their love for singing... The coachmen sang from the beginning to the end of the haul, the soldiers sang on the march, the residents of villages and hamlets - for any, even the most difficult work; harmonious hymns were heard from the churches, and in the silence of the evening I often heard the sounds of melodies from the surrounding villages echoing in the air,” wrote traveler William Cox.

Viktor Sergeevich Popov, conductor, People's Artist of the USSR, answered the questions in his interview:

Turbulent events of the 20th century - great Patriotic War, post-war famine, repressions, Khrushchev’s persecutions - how do you remember them?

I vaguely remember the post-war period, because I was born under Soviet rule - at the end of 1944. I remember the post-war upsurge. People lived very poorly, there was extreme poverty and also hunger. But... I don’t know what this can be connected with, but people sang. All day long, guys and girls work in the fields, and then go throughout the village and sing! They didn’t sing early, so they went out at dawn, and in the evening they come home from work, they’ve worked hard, but they still sing.

I believe that there was momentum for improvement then. Even though they lived poorly, the movement was already underway, people felt it, and, probably, this gave them such optimism.

You know, when His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir also spoke about this in an interview, that people sang - both on joyful occasions and on sad ones. And now everyone is silent. What do you think the church can do for people to...sing? At least they wanted to sing...

I think that today the world has taken a slightly different path of development. Modern means of communication and information drive a person into another plane of life - unreal. Communication takes place via the Internet, Skype. It’s one thing when we sit and see each other - maybe we won’t say as many words as we will understand, because often emotions speak more than words.
And this unreal plane binds a person. Unreality is a kind of lie, and a lie is a sin, and sin binds a person. A person does not realize this, he is bound by sin like a bond, and cannot straighten his chest and sing. The voice in Russia is the main musical instrument.

Choral singing ceased to serve as a replenisher of mental resources and ceased to encourage feats of arms (more precisely, feats of arms simply disappeared).

There was no talk at all about going to choir concerts. Apparently, these same grown-up children influenced the non-perception of choral singing. It's superfluous. He was not in their lives and will no longer be, because love for him should be instilled from childhood.

The soul of the people stopped singing. It turns out that they no longer feel an outlet in singing, the soul has become so callous that it has ceased to perceive music, has lost the ability to respond to music.

Since the times of the most ancient civilizations, people have known the healing power of sounds uttered in their own voice. Modern medicine has long drawn attention to the fact that singing, especially professional vocal practice, has beneficial influence on human health. Singing is the very necessary tool that allows you to find not only the joy of life, but also significantly improve your health. According to the figurative expression of scientists, the larynx is the second heart of a person. The voice, becoming healthier in the process of vocal training, heals the entire body. Pregnant women are advised to listen more classical music, calm lullabies are recommended to be sung by expectant mothers themselves. It is useful not only to listen to music, but even more useful to sing yourself, since during singing, sound frequencies activate the development of the child, affecting his brain.

Singing helps relieve stress. Scientists have discovered that while singing, the brain produces endorphin, a substance that makes a person feel joy, peace, great mood and increased vitality. Thus, with the help of singing, you can evoke and express certain feelings. With the help of singing, you can put your lungs in order, improve blood circulation and complexion, correct your posture, improve diction and speaking, and even correct a defect such as stuttering.

Singing is especially important for children. It is impossible to overestimate the impact of singing on a child's health. Working with the child’s vocal apparatus, the teacher acts to improve the health of his student. It is no coincidence that there are so many children's choirs in our country. Almost every school tries to organize a choir, since collective singing is not only beneficial for health, but also the formation of friendly relations. Children who sing differ from their peers in their positive emotionality and self-sufficiency. Satisfaction with doing something – stimulation good mood, and lack of desire to search for any other stimulants and search for dangerous pleasures, including drugs.

Vibration and overtones.

Voice, given to a person since birth, it has been a unique musical instrument. A person's voice always vibrates as it sounds, even if the person screams or speaks in a whisper. Voice vibration has a very positive effect on the human body. When our voice sounds, each sound is accompanied by vibrations of higher frequencies - overtones. Here the close proximity of the larynx, in which vibrations occur, and the brain plays a role. The overtones resonate with the bones of the skull and with the brain, which is responsible for the immune system. Thanks to this, the immune system is stimulated, and a singing child catches colds much less than a child deprived of this activity.

A trained child's voice covers a frequency range from approximately 70 to 3000 vibrations per second. These vibrations permeate the entire body of the singing student, improve blood circulation, and help cleanse the cells. A wide range of vibration frequencies of the human voice improves blood circulation in vessels of any diameter. High frequencies promote blood microcirculation in the capillaries, and low frequencies promote blood flow in the veins and arteries.

Knowing about this effect of vibration on the body, doctors and choirmasters work with deaf-mute children to correct and develop their hearing.

Singing and our internal organs.

Vocals are a unique means of self-massage internal organs, which contributes to their functioning and health. Scientists believe that each of the internal human organs has its own specific vibration frequency. When the disease occurs, the frequency of the organ becomes different, as a result of which a disorder occurs in the functioning of the entire organism. By singing, a person can easily influence a diseased organ, returning healthy vibration. The fact is that when a person sings, only 20% of the sound is directed into external space, and 80% inside, into our body, forcing our organs to work more intensively. Sound waves, hitting the resonant frequencies corresponding to a particular organ, cause its maximum vibration, having a direct impact on this organ.

During singing, the diaphragm actively works, thereby massaging the liver and preventing stagnation of bile. At the same time, the functioning of the abdominal organs and intestines improves. Playing certain vowels makes the tonsils and glands vibrate and helps cleanse the body of toxins. There are sounds that can completely restore blood circulation and eliminate congestion. This sound therapy practice has long been known and is still used in India and China.

Vowels.

“a” - helps relieve pain of various origins, treats the heart and upper lobes of the lungs, helps with paralysis and respiratory diseases, has a powerful effect on the entire body, helping to saturate tissues with oxygen.

“and” – helps in the treatment of eyes, ears, small intestines. “cleanses” the nose, stimulates the heart.

“o” – treats cough, bronchitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, relieves spasms and pain, alleviates pulmonary tuberculosis.

“u” - improves breathing, stimulates kidney function, treats the throat and vocal cords, as well as all organs located in the abdominal area.

“s” – helps in treating ears, improves breathing.

“e” – improves brain function.

Consonants.

The healing power of certain consonant sounds has been scientifically proven.

“v”, “n”, “m” - improve brain function.

“k”, “sch” - help in treating ears.

“x” – frees the body from waste substances and negative energy, improves breathing.

“c” – helps in treating the intestines, is good for the heart, blood vessels, and endocrine glands.

Sound combinations.

“om” – helps in lowering blood pressure. it balances the body, calms the mind, eliminating the cause of high blood pressure. This sound opens the heart, and it becomes able to accept the world, lovingly, without shrinking from fear or indignation.

“uh”, “oh”, “ah” - stimulate the release of waste substances and negative energy from the body.

These sounds must not only be pronounced, they must be sung. You should definitely pay attention to the intensity with which the sounds are sung. If you have a cardiovascular disease, you should not do the exercise too intensely; if therapy of the abdominal organs is necessary, on the contrary, the more intense, the better.

Singing and respiratory organs.

The art of singing is, first of all, the art of proper breathing, which is the most important factor our health. Diaphragmatic breathing and respiratory muscles are trained, and lung drainage is improved. with bronchial asthma, pneumonia and bronchitis, the sympathetic system is overexcited. inhalation and subsequent inhalation delay affect the sympathetic department nervous system, which is responsible for activating internal organs. There are methods for treating bronchial asthma through singing training, and in the choral practice of many choir teachers there have been cases of complete cessation of attacks of bronchial asthma in sick children. And when, upon diagnosis of bronchial asthma, doctors directly send a child to sing in a choir, this no longer surprises anyone. Singing not only relieves an attack of bronchial asthma, but also cures this disease.

Vocal exercises are prevention first and foremost colds. Vocals are needed to “pump” all our tracheas and bronchi. Vocal work is a great workout and ventilation. This is very important for the growing child's body. In people who systematically practice singing, the vital capacity of the lungs increases and adds a margin of safety to the body.

While singing, a person inhales air quickly and exhales slowly. As a result, the oxygen content in the blood decreases and the dose of carbon dioxide increases accordingly. Carbon dioxide in in this case is an irritant that activates the body’s internal defenses, which during illness begin to work in enhanced mode. The famous Buteyko method for treating asthma is based on the above statement.

Thus, singing is an excellent prevention of colds. American scientists conducted research among singers of one opera group. It turned out that singing not only develops the lungs and chest well (as the chest is well developed in professional singers), but also strengthens the heart muscle. The life expectancy of the vast majority of professional singers is significantly above average. Please note that good opera singers are physically healthy people and, as a rule, long-lived.

Singing and mild stuttering.

Vocal exercises improve the speech function of the body. For those people who suffer from stuttering, it is very useful to start singing.

This is especially true for children. The sooner a child who stutters starts singing, the more chances he has to get rid of this deficiency. One of the obstacles that a stutterer faces is pronouncing the first sound in a word. In singing, one word flows into another and seems to flow along with the music. The child listens to others sing and tries to keep in time. In this case, the emphasis is smoothed out.

It has already been proven that mild stuttering can be eliminated completely if a person sings regularly. All over the world, children are successfully treated for mild forms of stuttering with the help of choral singing. The main thing is regular exercise. For people suffering from moderate or severe stuttering, singing, unfortunately, cannot help.

The positive effect of singing on humans was used by our ancestors to cure a wide variety of diseases. It has long been known that singing - both solo and choral - has been used for centuries to treat mental illnesses.

IN ancient Greece choral singing was used to treat insomnia. In ancient times, people intuitively guessed the presence of great healing power in singing, but could not scientifically substantiate this fact.

Psychologists say that best way improve the quality of your life - just start enjoying it. Skillfully selected music has a positive effect on purposeful human activity, promoting a rhythmic tuning of the body in which physiological processes proceed more efficiently. Even just listening to music changes a person's mood. Some works are calming and peaceful, others are uplifting.

Melodic, quiet, moderately slow, minor music has a calming effect. Psychotherapists often began to use music for treatment, and quite often you can hear musical works in the offices of dentists. Positive emotional experiences when listening to pleasant melodies enhances attention, activates the emotional central nervous system and stimulates intellectual activity.

Singing and depression.

Singing is useful in any case, even if a person believes that he has neither a voice nor hearing. Having learned to express his emotions with his voice, a person receives an effective means of relieving stress and internal tension. Singing classes help mental development and strengthening the nervous system, and the ability to breathe correctly allows a person to calm the nervous system even under severe stress and anxiety.

Singing is a great way to relieve stress and provide emotional stability. A singing person is always positive, and even if he has experienced grief, he experiences significant relief while singing.

In 2009, after a man-made accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station (Cheryomushki is a workers’ settlement at the SSh hydroelectric power station), a lot of adults came to the school wanting to sing. Among these were relatives of those killed in the disaster. With song they poured out those experiences that they could not cope with.

Singing in a choir improves mental health outcomes, finds Nick Stewart from Oxford Brookes University. As notedThe Telegraph , the scientist examined the survey results.

Doctors who deal with mental illness believe that choral singing has a beneficial effect on a person and benefits mental health. In addition, choral singing stimulates and normalizes heart rate. This is due to ordered breathing, which always corresponds to a cappella singing.

Swedish biologists have been studying this phenomenon for a long time. They, in particular, conducted an online survey of 375 volunteer choral singers (of which there were 178 men and 197 women), solo performers, and participants in team sports. The latter exhibit a similar type of breathing when interacting on the playground.

All classes during testing were conducted with high degree psychological well-being, but those people who sang in choirs always reaped the greatest psychological benefits. These results will help facilitate the development of such a method. psychological impact on a person’s well-being, in which all costs are reduced to a minimum.

According to Nick Stewart, who claims to be the author of this work, it is not yet clear exactly what in choral singing has such a strong effect on the psyche. Now all the researcher’s evidence is being verified. Psychologists, however, believe that in the future, this technique can easily become a cheap recipe for health and a panacea for depression.

Perhaps in the future, choir classes will be prescribed to people with mental problems. By the way, it was previously proven that this type activity improves symptoms in Parkinson's disease, depression and lung diseases.

Singing not only increases oxygen levels in the blood, but also releases mood-enhancing hormones such as oxytocin. And this hormone reduces stress and blood pressure.

Another observation: people singing in a choir have synchronized heartbeats.

Of great value as providing the key to understanding the mechanism of mental development of a teenager is the cultural-historical concept of L.S. Vygotsky, according to which the key problem of this period is called the problem of the interests of a teenager. The process of destruction and withering away of former groups (dominants) of interests and the development of new ones deserves such a study. The emergence of new interests each time leads to the transformation of the old and the emergence of a new system of motives, which changes the social situation of the adolescent’s development. A change in the social situation of development leads to a change in leading activity, the result of which is the psychological new formations of adolescence. During this period, the social status of adolescents changes radically. So, during practical choir classes, they are faced with the need to realize responsibility not only for themselves, but also for others.

The art of music directly and strongly influences a person already in the first years of his life and occupies an important place in his overall cultural development.

Music, as Stendhal put it, is the only art that penetrates the human heart so deeply that it can even depict the experiences of his thoughts.

Many composers and musicologists have repeatedly emphasized that work on musical and aesthetic education must be carried out systematically, that it must include integral part in the activities that teachers conduct to educate a harmoniously developed person. In this process, musical work with children is especially important. This is the foundation without which musical propaganda among the masses will never produce full results.

The level of musical culture of the younger generation currently largely depends on solving the problems of aesthetic education and upbringing. The underestimation of the role of musical art in the formation of personality during the years of stagnation gave rise to disharmony in the formation spiritual world youth, had a negative impact on the development of the emotional sphere, which plays an important role in a person’s work, social and personal life.

Musical art is the greatest source of aesthetic and spiritual pleasure. It accompanies a person throughout his life, causing an emotional response, excitement, and a desire for action.

Music can inspire, ignite a person, instill in him a spirit of cheerfulness and energy, but it can also lead to a state of melancholy, sorrow or quiet sadness.

But not only music that is diverse in its content can have a different effect on a person. Same thing piece of music often acts differently on people and even on the same person under different conditions. Of course, this largely depends on a person’s preparedness to perceive music, on the level of development of his auditory experience, aesthetic taste, and general culture.

In the works of classical Russian literature - N.V. Gogol, L.N. Tolstoy, A.P. Chekhova, I.S. Turgeneva, V.G. Korolenko very clearly shows the power of music’s influence on a person, its ability at certain moments to bring people together in a single mood, experience, impulse, to evoke feelings of love, fun, triumph, pride, sadness, hatred.

Music, unlike spatial arts(painting, sculpture, etc.), which have the means of objectively depicting reality, is the art of expressing feelings, emotions, moods, thoughts and ideas. In connection with this, the content of music is primarily the emotional side of a person’s mental experiences, and only through these experiences is the reflection of images surrounding reality. Music deepens these images and clearly reveals their content.

Musical images are created using a set of tools musical expressiveness and are an emotional reflection of images of the real world.

The peculiarity of music, its emotional power lies in the ability to show the rich world of human feelings that arose under the influence of the surrounding life.

Psychologist B.M. Teplov says about this: “music is, first of all, the path to understanding the vast and meaningful world of human feelings. Music deprived of its emotional content ceases to be art.” Music penetrates into the deepest recesses of the human spirit and awakens pure noble feelings.

By influencing people’s feelings and thoughts, music promotes emotional understanding of the surrounding reality and helps transform and change it. With the help of its emotional language, music influences feelings, thinking, influences a person’s worldview, guides and changes him.

By acquiring certain knowledge about music, skills and abilities, children become familiar with the art of music. It is necessary to ensure that in the process of musical education, obtaining this knowledge, skills and abilities is not an end in itself, but contributes to the formation of preferences, interests, needs, tastes of children, i.e. elements of musical and aesthetic consciousness.

By developing a child’s emotions, interests, and tastes, you can introduce him to musical culture and lay its foundations. But in addition to the moral aspect, musical education is of great importance for the formation of aesthetic feelings in children.

By becoming familiar with the cultural musical heritage, the child learns the standards of beauty and appropriates the valuable cultural experience of generations. Repeated perception and performance of works of art gradually guides a person in identifying thoughts, feelings, and moods that are important to him, expressed in artistic images, in content that is meaningful to him.

Ostrogorsky’s “letters on aesthetic education” put forward the idea of the need early initiation children to musical art.

The expediency of this is justified by the fact that musical impressions received in childhood “... are never erased from the child’s memory and remain in him for life. His love and taste for music and singing make it easier for him to study them later.”

Ostrogorsky was the first in Russian pedagogy to so clearly raise the question of aesthetic and musical education of the younger generation, put forward and substantiate the idea, show ways of early introduction of children to music, raise the question of the need for continuous music education(preschool and school), pointed out the value of not only choral singing lessons, but also other forms of musical education and enlightenment of students.

“These and other ideas of the scientist-teacher can be considered as one of the theoretical sources in the development of modern concepts of musical upbringing and education of children”

V.I.Adishchev

Determining the role of musical art in the aesthetic education of a teenager, the main tasks of musical education were revealed: to develop in the process of musical activity artistic taste; to form the beginnings of musical culture; contribute to the formation of a common culture.

Singing has a positive effect on personality development. Classes in an early development group allow “home children” to get used to communicating with peers in a group, which helps them adapt to school faster and easier. Memorizing a large number of melodies and texts helps develop memory. During choir lessons, children’s understanding of the world around them expands, vocabulary, attention and memory improves.

Collective singing helps insecure and withdrawn children feel their importance, their first successes in singing activity form and strengthen the child’s positive self-esteem. Gradually, the desire to be better, to be a soloist appears. As a result, leadership qualities are formed: determination, perseverance, confidence.

During choir classes, children also develop stage culture: the ability to stay on stage during the performance of one or several works, the ability to go on stage, take their place, leave the stage after a performance, as well as respectful behavior towards the audience and performers at the festival. or at a concert. Helps develop internal musical ear, musical memory, promotes the development of coordination between hearing and voice, improves pitch intonation.

By acquiring certain knowledge about music, skills and abilities in the process of choir lessons, younger children school age get involved in the art of music.

It is important that in the process of musical education, the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities is not an end in itself, but contributes to the development of musical and general abilities, the formation of the foundations of musical and general spiritual culture.

In the field of music psychology, singing is considered as a form of music therapy that affects the emergence of various emotional states. Singing can improve your mood, calm you down, and calm you down. Singing children develop resistance to stress and develop a balanced character.

Thanks to singing, children improve their pronunciation, increase their vocabulary, and develop a pleasant timbre of their voice.
Choral singing classes allow you to create an environment for the manifestation and development of musical abilities of children of primary school age: musical ear, memory, sense of rhythm, intonation.

Singing can influence the all-round development of a child, induce moral and aesthetic experiences, lead to a transformation of the environment, and to active thinking. Along with fiction, theater, fine arts, choral singing performs a vital social function.

Through choral singing, children become familiar with cultural life, get acquainted with important social events. In the process of choral activity they develop cognitive interest, aesthetic taste, horizons broaden, children become sensitive to beauty in art and in life.

Primary school age is important for subsequent human development musical culture. If in the process of musical activity the musical and aesthetic consciousness of children is developed, this will not pass without leaving a mark on their subsequent development and spiritual formation.
Thus, choral singing classes contribute to the harmonious physiological and mental development of a child of primary school age.

Concert and performing activities are the most important part creative work choir group. It is the logical conclusion of all rehearsal and pedagogical processes. A public performance by a choir on a concert stage evokes in performers a special psychological state, determined by emotional elation and excitement.

Amateur artists experience genuine joy from contact with the world of artistic images, of which they are interpreters. Creative contact with the audience is of great importance for choir artists.

A choir is not a collection of singers, not an impersonal abstract unity; a choir is a multitude of personalities, personal perceptions, experiences, comprehensions, expressions, personal assessments, personal creativity. The unification of many personal co-creations in the unity of the created musical image in the process of communication with the listener - highest goal choral music making.

Experience shows that the more bright personalities there are in a choral group, the wider the palette of individual perception and the more complex the multi-level system of intense experience of a musical image, the more interesting, warmer, and brighter the choir sounds, the more contagious the process of music-making.”

Thus, it is the formation of the child’s personality that becomes the most important pedagogical task and goal of choral activity.

The effectiveness of work in this direction can be ensured only by a comprehensive study of the unique personality of each child: his temperament, character, range of interests, level intellectual development, the uniqueness of the emotional sphere, the presence and nature of artistic needs, the specifics of communication methods, the living conditions of the child, his family, etc.

An adequate understanding of the teacher about each child, his spiritual world, experiences and aspirations makes it possible to build team work as a differentiated, individualized process of communication with children through communication with the art of music.

This approach allows us to rethink the hierarchical position: “teacher - student,” with its inherent certain dictatorship of the teacher, into a position of dialogue between like-minded people equally participating in the process of co-creation.

The key importance in working with a group of children is the fulfillment of the need for communication, during which the child’s personality is formed. If for a student of primary school age whose thinking style changes (from monologue to dialogue), communication with adults is a social need, then the teenager puts himself in the situation of an adult, and from this point of view his life values are formed, what happens is active formation“I-concepts”, reflections. His priority need is the need for communication, for social recognition (D.I. Feldstein, A.S. Vygotsky); spontaneous group and intimate-personal communication comes to the fore.

A choir group at an art school provides a teenager with the opportunity to satisfy his need for communication: here is a reference group of children and, most often, close friends and, of course, an adult whom the teenager believes and trusts (often, and this is good, the choir director is a reference group for the teenager adults).

Communication within the choir is organized on different levels: self-government of the choir, personal patronage of the elders over the younger, the strong over the weak, experienced singers over new ones; general choral celebrations; preserving the traditions of the team.

Such forms of communication create the opportunity for self-affirmation and self-realization of a teenager, and contribute to high self-esteem. The very participation in musical and creative activities allows him to realize some unusual, in comparison with others, extraordinary qualities of his personality.

Each member of the choral group must have a wide sound palette and consciously use it in the performance process. Demonstration of the required sound quality by children, joint analysis of sound, joint search for the optimal sound option is always of a clearly expressed creative and personal nature, promoting the development of reflection.

The choir becomes a kind of society for a teenager in which he models his relationships with people. An atmosphere of goodwill, mutual understanding and mutual respect, a certain spiritual comfort contributes to the fullest disclosure of the spiritual world, the formation of positive moral and ethical qualities of the individual, therefore the success or failure of the team is perceived as an event in personal life.

The choir is an ideal place for children to develop.

It is from students who successfully combine school studies and activities in a developmental choir that often grow into highly organized and hardworking people with strong character, a sense of purpose, interesting and versatile personalities.

In any professional activity, regardless of specialty, it is important to master the art of communication - with each other and with management - especially in a market economy. Be able to listen, be able to argue, convince, encourage, give in, fight back without hurting your opponent’s dignity. Choir is a great place to develop all of these skills.

If a child sings in a choir, then there is hope that he will grow up to be an intelligent, intellectually and spiritually developed person.

Children deprived of the opportunity to sing in a choir suffer losses not only in their intellectual but also in their emotional development.

The child is also influenced by the creative atmosphere in the choir - the atmosphere of joint overcoming difficulties, camaraderie, kindness, openness, and the pursuit of beauty.

“The choir came out and announced a song,” is an old sad joke.

To ensure that the work performed by the choir does not resemble a dry report, each choir member must not only sing acoustically convincingly, but also look artistically convincing and be expressive.

Work in the choir is a constant intellectual and physical training. While engaged in singing, the child is immersed in the font of a complex and multi-stage transformation of his appearance and inner world. many realize everything that happened to them in childhood only when they become adults, and begin to appreciate it, albeit belatedly.

Working in an artistic group, where interesting and difficult but executable tasks are set, undoubtedly contributes to the development of hard work. Well-mannered hard work is also opposition to the ideology of consumerism, doing nothing, idleness as the ideal of existence.

Focus, interest, search activity and the desire to achieve distant, not immediate, results form and train the will to complete what has been started.

It is the choir that is the most widespread, democratic, accessible and financially low-cost of all artistic genres. As a result, there is a successful socialization of the individual at the level of the artistic group, which can, over time, help the socialization and improvement of our society.

Thus, choral singing as a collective musical performing activity that actively influences the development of both personal qualities and the general culture of students is characterized by the following positive features:

Participation in a common cause develops in a student the ability to communicate, objectively evaluate his actions, helps to realize existing shortcomings, both musical and behavioral;

Working in the choir, the student develops positive personal qualities necessary to work in a team, learns to use one’s strengths, musical abilities and skills for the benefit of yourself and the choir;

Choral activity, active and socially valuable, is an essential factor ensuring the formation in the student’s mind of the need for unity of word and deed, useful intention and personal means of its implementation;

In the process of collective choral creativity, independence and a sense of community, initiative and other volitional qualities that are so necessary for the student develop, musical activity switches his attention to a useful task that is significant both for him and for the rest of the group members;

In choral singing, various musical and educational means are coordinated and combined, having a positive effect on the student, which enhances cognitive influences and neutralizes negative ones;

In choral and collective singing, it is possible to identify with a high degree of reliability the true structure of students’ interpersonal relationships, social status the bulk of the members of small groups in the choir, their relationships with the “top” of the group, with its leader.

In choral singing, finally, successes and shortcomings can be clearly observed and appropriately marked with encouragement or remark; By the way, the choir members are the most in a positive way evaluate the success of a peer if it was achieved through hard work and will; Choristers are much less enthusiastic about encouragement and rewards received only thanks to their natural abilities.

Passion for new pedagogical ideas, priority in developing effective forms, teaching methods and pedagogical technologies pushed questions into the background educational work with children. Moral and ethical ideals, life values, and personal guidelines for self-development turned out to be blurred. According to scientists, while gaining experience in capitalist relations, Russia has largely lost its stock of spiritual and moral vision of life processes, the foundations of human relations, as a result of which there has been a pronounced “decomposition” of the spiritual life of our society.

Features of the development of modern Russian society show that the self-awareness of the new generation is characterized by values that do not have internal semantic unity. in turn, the uncertainty of values gives rise to confusion, nihilism and cynicism in young souls. Growing disdain for culture and cultural traditions deprives young people of the necessary spiritual and moral foundation for effective self-determination and positive self-affirmation.

It is known that harmonization of personality is possible only on the basis of the acceptance of highly aesthetic values.

Communication with high art is able to orient young people towards high artistic values, ennobles the soul, and improves the system of value orientations. This is evidenced by the experience of domestic aesthetic education and research by scientists in our country and abroad.

Pavel Pozhigailo, Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for Culture and Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage, President of the Foundation for the Study of Heritage P.A. Stolypina, executive director

All-Russian Choral Society:

I believe that choral singing in the country is the basis of its security, and if I were now developing a doctrine of Russian national security, one of the first points would be the revival of choral singing in all environments - in the army, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in schools, in factories .

Choral singing is not just a hobby, it is, in a certain sense, a condition for the survival of a nation as a nation and a state as a state. I am saying now what the Americans believe - 28 million people in the USA sing, children come to school at 7 am and sing in the choir for an hour before class. Eduard Mitrofanovich Markin, director of the choral music center, when he was in the USA, asked: “Why do you need choral singing?” and they answered him: “As long as we have choral singing, we will not have marsh areas.” in Latvia, from grades 1 to 10, children sing in a choir and the certificate includes a grade for choral singing; choral singing exists in Hungary, Bulgaria and other countries.

Today we have lost the single unifying ethical space of joy of living together with each other. The main medicine is not the economy, the main problem in Russia is twisted, crippled souls, somewhere clogged with poverty, somewhere with unbelief, somewhere with alcoholism. The moment when a person’s heart is freed from this terrible, viscous, depressive captivity, his eyes light up, and he opens himself in a completely different way.

Economics is a tactic; it can be planned 5-6 years in advance. she is always responsible for tactical things, because it is impossible to calculate what will happen tomorrow with the dollar, with the euro, the day after tomorrow with the yuan or with something else. And culture is a state strategy. What kind of people will live in Russia in 200 years depends today only on culture and not on economics.

IN ancient times music was treated as an activity not inferior in importance to medicine. Aristotle's student Aristoxenus said that “healing cleanses the body, and music cleanses the soul, like the art of singing with words.” Participating in a choir in those days was considered “a divine and heavenly activity that strengthens everything good and noble in a person,” this is one of the elements of education, and the word “uneducated” was interpreted as “not able to sing in a choir.” Aristotle noted the influence of choral music on human ethics and psyche and argued that “learning to sing should begin at a young age.” The importance of the art of singing is also evidenced by the works of Cicero and Horace. In ancient Greece, only those who sang in the choir were considered a citizen.

Choral singing belongs to one of the main areas of the cultural world - spiritual culture, which includes the sphere of spiritual production and its results, which influence, first of all, the development and improvement of the spiritual world of man. It contributes to the development of universal human values, norms of behavior, aesthetic views, education of a correct understanding of beauty in reality and the need to participate in the processes of creating beauty in art and life, develops the artistic taste of children, expands and enriches their musical level. Choral singing is collective music-making in an atmosphere of creativity, mutual assistance, and the responsibility of each student for the results of a common cause.

As a form of spiritual culture and a specific type of artistic activity of a person, choral art has great sociocultural potential, which determines its significance in life. modern society, influencing all aspects of human consciousness and activity, improving, perfecting and ennobling his inner spiritual world.

KERCH, 2016

It would seem that 2014 has just begun, and the yield of various research results is impressive. Scientists from Sweden managed to collect large number evidence in favor of choral singing. Researchers have conducted more than one experiment on the health benefits of singing songs in chorus. It turned out that orderly and calm breathing throughout the performance of the composition helps to normalize the heart rate.

Scientists are following the experimental path

Researchers from the University of Oxford went even further in their research and found that choral singing is extremely beneficial for people's mental health. Their experiment involved 375 volunteers, of whom 178 were men and 197 were women.

All volunteers participated in choral singing, performed solo or took part in various team sports. Each activity was associated with high levels of psychological well-being, but choir members received the greatest benefits. The results that were obtained during the experiment can have a significant impact and help in organizing and developing a treatment method to improve human well-being without spending a lot of money.

The author of the work is Nick Stewart and he says that singing in a choir can be an effective and cost-effective way that can significantly improve human health. The positive effect of choral singing has not yet been studied enough, so additional research will be needed, but the fact is that there is such an effect and it has a beneficial effect - on the face.

The positive impact of singing in a choir can become the beginning of a large campaign for its propaganda, declaring its benefits. Some even make bold and timid assumptions that in the near future it will be prescribed as a health prescription.

Old traditions in a new way

A little earlier, experiments by Swedish and Oxford scientists had proven the benefits of singing in a choir for those people who suffer from Parkinson's disease, lung diseases and depression. Singing in a choir in a systematic manner significantly increases the level of oxygen in the blood and also causes the release of a hormone called oxytocin. People call it the hormone of happiness. During choral singing, blood pressure decreases and stress disappears.

Foreign scientists need to study Russian women singing in choirs who are over 60 or even 70 years old. Eurovision was conquered by a fiery group of singing grandmothers. Drinking songs can be heard less and less on New Year's Eve or in city courtyards. But in rural areas this tradition is still alive and there is hope that the Russian government will pay attention and help in developing a project to introduce choral singing in the country's schools.

In this article I will try to highlight the most severe mistakes of all or most beginning vocalists

  1. Lack of correct. You can’t pay little attention to breathing support, it’s important to understand that proper retention of air in the lungs contributes to free, flighty, voluminous, beautiful singing;
  2. Following a note. Misconception, unfortunately so common among pop singers, that you need to change the position of the larynx to take high notes. It is important to know that the vocal position of the vocal apparatus should not change depending on the note being intoned, and in general while singing, the larynx should remain motionless, do not reach for the note.
  3. You should not pass excess air through the ligaments, this will not make your voice more powerful, it is better to send it to the resonators, while singing, you should not eject a large amount of air, no matter what note you sing. The candle flame brought to the mouth during singing should not fluctuate, the air should be held in itself and only a small part of it should be carefully sent into the resonators, this will be enough for powerful sonorous singing.
  4. White sound. This is the name for singing not into resonators; such singing can be heard from pop singers who rely on a microphone and do not want to sound with their bodies. The resonators should sound, then the throat will not be pinched, the sound will be rich and interesting, unlike anyone else;
  5. Relying on instincts. While singing, you should not think that the body will sing as you wish, of course. We learn to sing so that the voice sounds automatically and the mind remains free for feelings and processing of the artistic image. But at the learning stage, you must control your attention as much as possible on each action, if possible, do not be distracted from singing, remember all the teacher’s advice and apply them in practice.
  6. Imitation. Don’t imitate your idols, no matter how great you think they sing, remember that there is always the possibility that you naturally sing much better, sing with your voice, listen to your body, look for a vocal position, cultivate your best qualities voices and then you will be able to do everything, but the first development option is detrimental;
  7. All at once. At the beginning of training, do not sing your favorite songs and arias that sound great when performed by your idol if you are not able to do this. Assess your strengths realistically, if you start singing, then first sing at least one note, but make sure it sounds perfect, or at least so that, looking the truth in the eye, you can say that it is really good, and only then think about light works. A perfect voice is the result of many years of training, and your idols may have changed many development paths and vocal schools in order to sing like that.
  8. Don’t be afraid to sing, don’t enslave yourself, always maintain self-confidence, learn to enjoy small but significant successes in singing, then you will gain and take leaps and bounds into the world of vocals, and trying to learn everything at once, to prove something to others, to fight your complexes is unnecessary With arrogant habits, you will only make the situation worse.
  9. You don’t need to sing often 2-3 times a week, but sing, and don’t count on the next life, if you want to sing beautifully, you will have to sing to keep your body in vocal tone always! The fact is that the brain neurons responsible for memory tend to die off as unnecessary; if you sing very rarely, you will learn anew each time instead of improving what you have achieved;
  10. Do not try to achieve the beauty of your own sound at the beginning of singing. The point again is in stereotypes about beautiful sound and about imitation of other singers. Every time you start singing, trying to correct the mistakes of your awkward achievements acquired in the process of imitation, you should remember that you cannot sing yet and this is your advantage. Throw away everything unnecessary, imagine yourself blank slate paper and try to sing in the most organic sound for you, then try to sing a simple piece with it, let it be a test for you, or rather, for your nervous system, can you...?? Cultivate your sound, forget about beauty, open your “mouth” and, without hesitation, sing with your natural sound, without any antics. And after that, you can think about support, resonators, etc., but then, you will see for yourself that beauty itself appeared along with freedom in the body.

“Artistic director of the State Academic Moscow Regional Choir named after A.D. Kozhevnikov Nikolai Azarov will lead the choir of the State Duma of the Russian Federation... Azarov’s first meeting with the members of the choir, in which 35 people have already signed up, will take place on November 10” http://www.interfax.ru/russia/405795

Well, why do I immediately remember the immortal lines of Bulgakov:

“And he leads by the arm some son of a bitch,” the girl said, “who came from nowhere, in checkered trousers, in a cracked pince-nez and... a completely impossible face!

The faces of the future climbers darkened, but the manager immediately called on everyone to be cheerful, and the specialist joked, joked, and swore that singing takes very little time, but the benefits from this singing, by the way, are a whole carload.

Well, of course, as the girl said, the first to jump out were Fanov and Kosarchuk, the most famous branch sycophants, and announced that they were signing up. Then the rest of the employees became convinced that singing was inevitable, and they had to sign up for the club too. They decided to sing during the lunch break, since the rest of the time was occupied by Lermontov and checkers. The manager, to set an example, announced that he had a tenor, and then everything went like in a bad dream. The checkered specialist choirmaster yelled:

- Do-mi-sol-do! - he pulled the shy ones out from behind the closets, where they were trying to escape from singing, told Kosarchuk that he had perfect pitch, whined, whined, asked to respect the old regent-singer, tapped his fingers with a tuning fork, begging for the sound of “The Glorious Sea.”

They thundered. And they thundered gloriously. Checkered really understood his business. Finished the first verse. Then the regent apologized, said: “I’ll be a minute,” and... disappeared. They thought that he would actually return in a minute. But ten minutes passed and he was gone. Joy overwhelmed the affiliates - he escaped.

And suddenly they somehow sang the second verse on their own, everyone was led by Kosarchuk, who, perhaps, did not have absolute pitch, but there was a rather pleasant high tenor. Sang. There is no regent! They moved to their places, but before they had time to sit down, they began to sing, against their will. Stop - but that was not the case. They will be silent for three minutes and then burst out again. If they keep quiet, they will burst out! Then they realized there was trouble. The manager locked himself in his office for shame.

Here the girl’s story was interrupted. Valerian didn't help anything.

A quarter of an hour later, three trucks drove up to the grille in Vagankovsky, and the entire staff of the branch, headed by the manager, loaded onto them.

As soon as the first truck, swinging through the gate, drove out into the alley, the employees standing on the platform and holding each other by the shoulders opened their mouths, and the entire alley resounded with a popular song. The second truck was picked up, followed by the third. So let's go. Passers-by, running about their business, cast only a cursory glance at the trucks, not at all surprised and believing that this was an excursion heading out of town. We were indeed going out of town, but not on an excursion, but to the clinic of Professor Stravinsky” (M. Bulgakov. The Master and Margarita. Chapter 17).
