The examination work in literature is based on a system of step-by-step testing of graduates’ abilities to perceive and analyze works of art in their genre and generic specifics, based on knowledge of a historical, literary and theoretical literary nature. Preparing for an exam in literature involves students repeating all the course material, the content of which is determined by the mandatory minimum for the subject.

The 2010 demo version contains three parts containing a set of tasks to determine the level of graduates' preparation in literature.

The first and second parts offer tasks that include questions for the analysis of works named in the mandatory minimum content literary education. The ability of graduates to determine the main elements of content and artistic structure studied works (topics and problems, heroes and events, artistic techniques, different kinds tropes, etc.), as well as consider specific literary works in conjunction with other course material.
The general structure of the first 2 parts of the work is subordinated to the task of broad content coverage of literary material.

Literary texts offered for analysis make it possible not only to test students’ knowledge of specific works, but also their ability to analyze the text taking into account its genre. The last task of each of the first 2 parts of the work involves entering a broad literary context: the problems of the analyzed work (fragment) are included in the literary connections of the course. Thus, relying on intra-subject connections of the studied course allows for additional coverage of the content of the tested literary material.

The last (3rd) part of the work requires students to make a full-length, detailed statement in literary theme problematic in nature (thus, to what was worked out in parts 1-2 literary material another content component of the course being tested is added).

Part 1, which involves the analysis of a fragment of an epic (or dramatic) work, consists of 7 tasks with a short answer (B) and 2 tasks with a detailed answer of limited scope (C1, C2). When completing a short answer task, the examinee is required to write a word or combination of words. Tasks with extended answers. limited volume (C1, C2) require writing a coherent text of 5-10 sentences.

Part 2 involves the analysis of a lyrical work and includes 5 tasks with a short answer (B) and 2 tasks with a detailed answer of limited scope (C3, C4). General requirements for completing these tasks are the same as for part 1.

Following the proposed work algorithm allows students to identify the place and role of an episode (scene) in general structure works (analysis of a fragment), reveal plot-compositional, figurative-thematic and stylistic features analyzed text, summarize your observations in a literary context.
Part 3 tests the ability to construct a coherent, meaningful speech statement on a given literary topic, formulated in the form of a question of a problematic nature. The graduate is offered 3 questions (C5.1 - C5.3), covering the most important milestones of the national historical and literary process: 1 - on the works of ancient Russian literature, the classics of the 18th and the first half of the 19th century centuries, 2 - based on works of the second half of the 19th century, 3 - based on works of the 20th century. The graduate selects only one of the questions and gives an answer to it, justifying his judgments by referring to the work (from memory). Questions of a problematic nature indicate a cognitive contradiction that the graduate must comprehend by proposing his own version of its resolution in the form of an essay.

Work of this type stimulates students’ independent thought and gives them the opportunity to express their attitude to the problems raised by the authors of the works.
The practice of pedagogical research has shown that performing work of this type requires a large measure of cognitive independence and to the greatest extent meets the specifics of literature as an art form and academic discipline, which sets as its goals the formation of a qualified reader with a developed aesthetic taste and the need for spiritual, moral and cultural development.

The Unified State Exam test in literature consists of three parts, each of which has a different value for determining the level of preparation of graduates in literature.

In the first and second parts, students are asked to complete tasks that include questions to a fragment of the text of works named in the mandatory minimum content of literary education. Unified State Examination tests in literature, in accordance with the requirements of the current Standard, must test the following knowledge and skills of graduates.

Knowledge:

  • the content of the studied literary works;
  • basic facts of the life and work of classical writers of the 19th-20th centuries,
  • stages of creative evolution of classical writers;
  • main literary methods, directions, trends, basic patterns of the historical and literary process;
  • information about individual periods of its development;
  • basic theoretical and literary concepts and terms.
Skills:
  • analyze and interpret a literary work using information on the history and theory of literature (artistic structure, themes, problems, moral pathos, system of images, features of composition, artistic time and space, figurative and expressive means of language, artistic detail);
  • correlate the work being studied with the literary direction of the era;
  • highlight the features of literary movements and movements when analyzing a work;
  • determine the genre and generic specificity of a literary work;
  • determine the main elements of the content and artistic structure of the studied works (themes and problems, heroes and events, artistic techniques, various types of tropes, etc.);
  • compare literary works, as well as their various artistic, critical and scientific interpretations;
  • identify author's position, characterize the features of the writer’s style.
IN Unified State Exam tests literature checks to what extent graduates have mastered such activities as
  • determining whether a literary (folklore) text belongs to a particular type and genre, creative method or literary direction(current), historical and literary period;
  • analysis of the text, revealing the author's intention and various means of its implementation; determining the motives of the heroes’ actions, the essence of the conflict, etc.;
  • identification artistic techniques and means of artistic representation, determining their role in revealing the ideological and thematic content of the work;
  • independent search for an answer to a problematic question.
Each version of the examination paper consists of three parts and includes 17 tasks. The tasks, identical in presentation form and level of complexity, are grouped in certain parts of the work that test the skills of analyzing one or another type of text: epic, lyrical and dramatic. Parts 1 and 2 of the examination paper present two texts: fragment epic work(novel, story, story, short story) or fragment dramatic work(comedy, drama) and lyrical work(fragment of a poem, poem). These texts are associated with questions that help analyze their artistic features. In these same parts, knowledge of the history and theory of literature is tested (these are the so-called basic tasks). After the graduate answers the proposed questions of type B (with an open answer), he will have to answer questions of type C. These questions are also assigned to each of the two parts of the examination test and are numbered C1-C4 accordingly. Type B includes 12 tasks for which the student gives his own short response (a word or combination of words). Tasks of type C1-C4 require a short coherent answer (a coherent text of 5-10 sentences).

Part 1 relates to a fragment of an epic text or a fragment of a play and contains 7 short answer tasks (basic difficulty level). There are also 2 tasks with detailed answers ( higher level difficulties). Their designations are C1, C2.

Part 2 relates to the text of the lyric poem and contains 5 short answer tasks (basic difficulty level). There are also 2 tasks with a detailed answer (increased difficulty level). Their designation is SZ, C4.

The authors of the examination test in literature for the Unified State Exam suggested that “following the proposed algorithm of work allows students to identify the place and role of an episode (scene) in the overall structure of the work (analysis of a fragment), reveal the plot-compositional, figurative-thematic and stylistic features of the analyzed text, generalize their observations."

Part 3 tests how deeply and independently students are able to master a literary work and explain the complexities of the historical and literary process (these are tasks high level difficulties). This part of the work tests the ability to construct a coherent and meaningful speech statement on a given literary topic, formulated in the form of a question of a problematic nature. The graduate is asked 3 questions (C5.1-C5.3), covering the most important milestones of the national historical and literary process: on the literature of the 18th century, on the works of the first half of the 19th century, on the works of the second half of the 19th century, on the works of the 20th century. The graduate chooses one of the questions and gives an answer, justifying his judgment by referring to the work (from memory).

Part 3 contains 3 free-response tasks (of a high level of difficulty), of which the student needs to complete only one task of his own choice. Their designation in the work: C5.1; C5.2; C5.3.

Surprisingly, in order to score high scores on the Unified State Exam in literature, it is not enough just to be able to write well and have great amount books read. No, this is certainly important and necessary, but we must remember that the final exam in the form of the Unified State Exam has a clear structure, and the examiners have certain criteria by which they evaluate the work of eleventh-graders. No matter how creative and original you are, if your work does not meet the basic requirements of the task, then, alas, you will not get 100 points. Therefore, in this article we will reveal all the secrets and give you useful tips, by listening to which you can get a high result and enter the university of your dreams.

As already noted, graduates taking the literature exam simply need to know exactly how the Unified State Examination in literature is assessed. In fact, everything is very simple and not as scary as it seems at first glance.

When completing 8 and 15 tasks that require a detailed answer of 5-10 sentences, you must give a direct and concise answer to the question. we have on our website. Try not to deviate from the topic, do not use lengthy arguments, follow a simple scheme - thesis, evidence. Nothing overly complicated is required of you; it is important to carefully read the excerpt from the given work of art, analyze it and give a short but clear answer to the question, citing evidence from the text as an example. The criteria are:

  1. depth of judgments made
  2. persuasiveness of arguments
  3. following the norms of speech.

In total, for tasks 8 and 15 you can get 4 points for each (do not forget that the initial points you scored are translated into a hundred-point system, and even 1 mistake you make can cost 4 test points, so be careful).

Questions 9 and 16 require you to compare a given passage from a literary work with two other texts. you can look on the website. The most important thing here is a convincing justification for why you think the examples you gave are from works of art suitable and how exactly do you find them similar. Do not forget that you need to correctly indicate the names of the works and their authors. Criteria by which your answers will be assessed:

  1. inclusion of a work in a literary context
  2. persuasiveness of arguments

Since the exam is always a stressful situation for graduates, we advise you to think in advance about examples of works on various topics; it is more convenient to do this in a table. Divide it into specific topics, for example, war, unrequited love, etc. (you can take them from example KIMs), and select texts in which these problems occur. So at hour X it will be much easier for you, and you will be able to score the highest score for this task.

And finally, the last task is to write a long essay on one of the three proposed topics. you can look on the website. Here you should show:

  1. knowledge of literary text
  2. knowledge of literary terms
  3. literary outlook

The examiner will evaluate:

  1. depth of understanding of the topic
  2. the persuasiveness of the judgments given as arguments
  3. level of theoretical and literary knowledge
  4. validity of using the text of the work
  5. compositional integrity
  6. consistency of presentation
  7. following the norms of speech.

The only advice we can give you when writing this essay is to prepare for it. You must know all the assessment criteria and, following them, write a solid paper that will reflect the depth of your knowledge and the meaningfulness of the arguments you make.

What do you need to know?

Before you start preparing for the Unified State Exam in Literature, you should find out what the exam consists of, how much time is allotted for solving each task, what you need to read, and much more.

Let's start in order:

  1. How long does the Unified State Exam in Literature last?

Graduates are given 3 hours 55 minutes. Believe me, this time is enough to complete and check all tasks. But, despite this, from year to year many graduates lose precious points precisely because they simply do not have time to answer all the questions or rewrite the essay completely. Therefore, we strongly recommend that everyone who is preparing to take the Unified State Exam in Literature practice writing a KIM within the time allotted in the exam. Record your time and objectively evaluate whether you have time to write, check and rewrite all your essays. If not, then try to reconsider your time expenditure, maybe it is more convenient for you to start with the last task, and then return to the first part of the work. Determine which maximum amount minutes you can spend answering this or that question and try not to exceed this limit.

  1. How many tasks are there in the exam?

The Unified State Examination in literature consists of two parts. Part 1 is divided into 2 blocks - in the first you are required to answer 7 questions that test your knowledge of literary theory, and 2 questions with a detailed answer of 5-10 sentences. The entire first block is devoted to epic or dramatic birth literature. Block 2 concerns lyrics and also consists of 7 questions on theory and 2 questions, when answering which you must write a “small essay”.

Part 2 involves writing essays on one of three proposed topics. Each topic concerns a specific era (topic 1 - ancient Russian literature, literature of the 18th century or literature of the first half of the 19th century, topic 2 - second half of the 19th century, and topic 3 covers literary works written from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries). The essay must be at least 200 words.

  1. What to read?

To pass the Unified State Exam in literature, it is enough to read the entire list fiction, compiled specifically for this exam, the so-called, which you can read on the website.

But they must immediately warn you if during all school years you haven't read almost anything from school curriculum, then it is impossible to catch up in 1 year. But if, on the contrary, you have always treated the list responsibly school literature, then you won’t have to read anything additional.

  1. When will the results come?

Both the exam itself and the official website of the Unified State Examination will indicate the deadline for obtaining results. Don't worry, you won't be left in the dark. Try to remain calm, even if your literature results are delayed (this happens), you have already done everything in your power. And don’t be afraid, inspectors are not animals, they are just doing their job, and if you worked hard, your work will be appreciated.

How to prepare?

See previous paragraph. Indeed, starting preparation for the Unified State Exam in literature if you have not yet read most of the works is simply useless. If everything is in order with the list of literature you have read, then you should turn to the theory of literature. In the first part there are as many as 14 questions relating to literary terms (genre and type of literature, size of the poem, etc.). All these questions are absolutely simple, so it will be very disappointing to lose your points on them. And in order to prepare, you just need to look at the knowledge of which will be tested, understand and analyze them in detail, then you will never confuse iambic with trochee.

Well, there is only one way to prepare for tasks with a detailed answer - training. Write as soon as possible more essays, try to comply with all the requirements, carefully re-read your works (it is very important to be able to notice your own mistakes), and, of course, it will be very good if there is a person who will check your literary achievements at least at first (I think your school teacher should not refuse such a request).

How is the exam going?

Exactly the same as any other Unified State Exam. You come to the exam point, leaving all electronic devices at home beforehand (you’ve been preparing hard all year, and you don’t need them, right?), go to a certain audience and wait for the exam to start. When the X-hour arrives, the observer once again voices in detail the rules of the event. Next, you start filling out the forms (take this seriously, do not forget to double-check that you have filled out everything correctly, otherwise it will be a shame if your name is not on a brilliantly done, hundred-point job).

When all organizational issues ends, you will finally have your CMM and can start working on it. Read the assignments very carefully! In a stressful situation, you can easily confuse Tolstoy with Dostoevsky, so re-read not only your answers several times, but also your questions (even a perfectly written paper about the problem little man in Chekhov’s work will not be counted if the question was about Gogol). 3 hours and 55 minutes pass, you hand in all your completed forms and peace of mind go home.

How did you pass the Unified State Exam in Literature in 2017?

Some statistical data: in 2017, 43,548 graduates took the Unified State Exam in Literature, of which only 4.3% were unable to pass the threshold (minimum score) of 32 points. And 44% of those who took the exam were able to score more than 61 points. So, dear graduates, not everything is so scary.

Every eleventh grader taking literature once asked in despair: “What does it take to pass the Unified State Exam in literature?” But you can’t even imagine how simple the answer is - you need to prepare. You don’t need to assume that if the exam requires you not to have a specific, only correct answer to a question, but a detailed answer in the form of an essay, then you can let the preparation process take its course and trust your intuition, and when writing essays, give free rein to your imagination and simply speculate on the given question. topic. This approach will not lead you to success, you must clearly know what is required of you, your essays must comply with the “requested” format, and the literature knowledge in your head must be clearly structured. Ideally, you need to have a good understanding of a particular historical context in order to better understand the themes of a particular author's work. You must also be able to support your thoughts with quotes (which you need to know by heart), and this is only possible under one condition - you need to start preparing for the Unified State Exam in Literature in advance! Then you will not have any problems, and even if you are a very emotional person (as everyone becomes when taking an exam), you will be more calm and confident, and this is the key to an excellent result.

Interesting? Save it on your wall!

Currently Unified State Exam time in literature was not included in the list of mandatory tests at the end of school. However, the results of this state exam are necessary in order to enter various specialties of Russian higher education institutions. educational institutions. This could be philology or journalism, television, as well as vocal and acting arts. Our article will tell you in detail what you need to know to pass the literature exam (Unified State Exam).

In 2017, there were active rumors that the structure of the final test in literature would be significantly transformed. But in September of the same year it became known that this testing had undergone a minimal number of changes. Nevertheless, in one of her interviews, Minister of Education Olga Vasilyeva said that next year another, more promising model of the state exam, developed by leading specialists from the Institute of Pedagogical Measurements, will come into force. Thus, test tasks were excluded from the CIMs. Now about literature? Let's figure it out together.

Why were the tests removed?

In the opinion of the developers, multiple-choice tasks for students do not pose any difficulty. They are just an extra element for assessment. In such tasks there is a huge probability of guessing the correct answer, and experts at the Institute of Pedagogical Measurements fundamentally disagree with this.

In addition, it became known that in the literature exam, graduates will no longer see open-ended questions and tasks where they must give an answer in the form of one word or a sequence of numbers. Thus, graduates lose the opportunity to score points for knowledge of literary terms. Therefore, C grade students will not be able to get away with “little loss” by passing one part of the exam. In 2018, graduates are expected to demonstrate the ability to express their own thoughts beautifully and clearly.

Test requirements. Essays

It is known that during the literature exam you need to write several essays. The developers of test materials have increased the minimum volume of the “main” essay. In previous years, this volume was at least 200 words, but already in 2018, the graduate will be required to compose a text 50 words more than in previous years.

Institute specialists have specified the requirements for mini-essays for next year. They must be at least 50 words long. Since 2018, this requirement applies not only to the issue of text analysis, but also to comparative tasks.
